• My comment on the replay system was more of a sarcasm during that stream (because of the meme), and it is definitely a necessity in an online competitive game! Replay system would be beneficial for everyone. From players with low-end PC's to PRO players as well. It would also be easier to detect cheaters and maybe Valorant could implement some kind of an "overwatch" system like we had in CS:GO. On top of that doing self-VOD-reviews would be 10x easier for everyone. Self-improvement of players would be much faster where they can easily analyze not only what they're doing, but also what enemy team is doing to counter them. Opportunities for content creators would also be vast. The only reason why I wasn't speaking about replay system that much is because it is a known issue since closed beta and Riot Games definitely has some bigger problems to fix in Valorant!
• I didn't talk about the cheaters in the game, because I personally had only 4 to 6 obvious cheaters in my lobbies since closed beta. Also I think that they're doing a great job when it comes to banning cheaters, but sometimes they're way too slow. There are some Radiant accounts where players cheated for 50 games in a row and only then they got banned. That's why giving some RR compensation to players that lost against the cheaters would be a great addition to the game!
• When it comes to the agent's ban & pick system - we can iterate this solution endlessly and find some kind of a good compromise. For an example, allowing the players to see the opposing team picks would add another strategic level to the game and the list goes on...
My inputs probably dont mean anything, but maybe its a different perspective than most people, I have played CS for 25 years and currently playing both CS and Valo and what i personally dont like in Valo is this:
- smurfing is absolutely ridiculous, its like 8 out of 10 games its a 1 man army with 40 frags and rest is chilling
- cannot pick map to play, no banning system for maps and agents
- Map pool and map design is horrible, fucking 37 angles to clear when you enter site
- toxic people, no mic, throwing, cringe people harrassing you over skins
- Games in bronze felt 10x better than in gold, how so? people in bronze speak, they are listening, they want to play together, and it was balanced. In gold its toxic reyna every match, smurf, no comms, its 13-1 or 1-13, its boring as fuck.
- abilities should enable you to get kills, not score multikills, like compare ISO as duelist vs Raze as duelist....huh?
P.S - I would LOVE to play Vandal on attacker and Phantom on defense. Right now both cost the same and 95% of people are using Vandal, its stale meta and i think phantom is fun to play
All of these are true but the amount of smerfs are actually insane, so as toxicity as well. Also the reason I don't do a VOD review is because it's my trash pc, its going to give me like 10 fps when I even open up overwolf, how do you expect me to record a VOD with 10 fps in the game?
@@BeowulfGaming - I agree, it is way too easy to smurf and it's way too rare to get banned for it, riot really needs to do something about this!
- personally I love most of the maps and think they are very fun to play around, of course I have my favorites and ones I dislike, but I think they're mostly okay. Of course it's not everyone's cup of tea though
- I hate throwers and toxic players (including incels who behave like misogynists) and think there should be WAY bigger punishments (toxic players are rarely punished unless they do something blatant like saying a slur in text chat, riot needs to start punishing them) and throwers should be punished far more, I haven't seen a thrower ever get punished - only people who leave the game (which is a form of throwing I suppose) are punished heavily. I also think stream snipers should be punished more frequently and way heavily.
- totally agree with your gold vs bronze point, playing in silver and bronze was way more fun than the clowns that gold-plat-ascendant are comprised of and people didn't take it as seriously in low elo

I think another very pressing issue which you kind of mentioned is the 2 and 3 stacks, whether they are mismatched or not becomes an issue later on in the game, however speaking from my own experience, 3 stacks in ascendant 3 lobbies are one of the most unfun things i have encountered to play with. Duos can be that way but its not as prevelant. It is common knowledge that ppl tend to behave differently when they are surrounded by group which they know, and that leaves the other 2 players on the team hanging, usualy 3 stack do not follow calls, do not communicate, gaslights. Rarely do they play as a team of 5( im talking i had 2 or 3 games where 3 stacked players played as a team out of a 100 ish lobbies with 3 stacks). Imo it should not be a thing to 3 stack the same as its not allowed to 4 stack due to terrible experience for solo players.
no sandbox no customs modes no player creativity, thats the biggest one.. not sure why companies forgot that 80% of the good stuff is in the customs, old starcraft good example, cs a good example .. like come on aimlabs has to try to build a training tool for your game?
Pls go Apply for a Job at Riot. I want that shit for Ages. You could do firing ranges for every map and so much more. A rly fleshed out custom Tool would be insane and let the Game age rly weil.

The replay system has a lot of uses other than just 'vod reviews'. Take CS for instance, you can make highlights, check other players' povs, look for suspected cheaters, and much more. Vod reviews are just one of hundreds of potential applications of a replay system.
The community's 100% in the right to demand it, especially since it shouldn't be that difficult to implement.

@@zerrtka many undetected cheaters, some using aim assist devices, some wall hacking, there is more cheating than is actually talked about. I see more and more People complaining with weird stuff
@@terliccc wrong way to phrase it, but you're right. It's currently impossible to confirm if someone's cheating in valorant whereas in cs you can just check that person's pov in the replay. I do believe Valorant has a lot more cheaters than people think, there's just a lack of evidence due to the absence of a replay system.
@@terliccccheats are oftentimes only detected after manuel review. a replay system allows players to submit the specific proof themself making bans and detection easier and faster with less labor. Therefore the cheater need to spoof their system more often and buy more accounts, hacks itself will increase in price or be less effective and/or less known.
The only upside i see is that you can review your hacks on serverside and clientside but that doesn't really help because the dos and don'ts in hacking valorant are already well-established.
Most undetected hacks that are used are just triggerbots or aim assist and you can oftentimes see it if they have high ping or mechanical skills (like always taking 8ms to shoot or doubleflicking correction).
Wallhacking is detected by looking if people track through a wall (or they find a hack that is being sold).
All these need manuel review in which a replay system is of great help.
I don't think that cheater would benefit from a replay system...
But i do think bot accounts could increase significantly because of higher demand of hacked accounts.
I feel like these problems have been plaguing the game for months now, I'm really glad someone is actually talking about it to a larger audience, hopefully riot will listen and make some changes. Like you I love this game and want to see it succeed and be better, I really see the potential and it's sad to see it constantly weighed down by these problems. Thank you for bringing these problems to light and I hope riot sees this or at least this starts a larger discussion within the community
riot dont care, many people tried to talk about it online and they always get banned from riot communities
Most I have riot seen talking about is Clove's identity and nothing more.
About VOD's - for me problem is if I boot up recording my game performance drops significantly, so actually replay system would be a savior. Also It would help content makers to make better content and boost game popularity.

Love most of what you had to say here but the replay system argument makes absolutely no sense. You say no one VOD reviews and then you say if they give us replay system it won’t matter. That’s wrong. More people will VOD review than ever before if they add replay system.
What I meant to say is that there are far bigger problems with the game right now, and replay system doesn't solve any of them.

And definitely, if we had a replay system self-improvement would be much easier!
Learning from your timings and mistakes, developing new strategies based on yours and enemy team, etc.

@@Charla7an A replay system could also allow them to offload reviewing reports to the community with some sort of incentive. Dota 2 overwatch system is an example of this.

Off topic but most of the people who want a replay system from what ive seen are really low elo. Like iron - silver. At that point VOD reviewing wont dont anything
ok so this is the cycle. they see in pro play there is this agent that is overplayed, they think a good game shouldn't have a must have pick agent, so they nerf that agent to "balance" but it ends up never working in pro play and lowers the playability in ranked. the only and best solution is a map ban and an agent ban before each game pleaseeeee it also opens comms
Problem 6 that you mentioned killed the game so fast for me, it felt like I would go one game and just wreck, than do everything the same, and nothing hit heads. I was standing still to shoot that first shot, and everything, the inconsistency really killed my will to continue learning the game. Great video as always :)
as a player who played since ep1 act 1 i agree, riot doesnt care about their players they see them as customers
Really well thought video. Problem #2 and #3 go hand in hand and will make the biggest difference if changed. More players will want to play the game and it will be beneficial for Riot too. As more players will invest more time and money when the game is actually fun
I think being able to ban 1 agent as a team makes such a huge difference. I am really demotivated to play these last acts because I know that we have to play against boring ass Cypher comps on Sunset, Breeze and Split. Most games play exactly the same. For the same reason I really cant comprehend why they do not have all the maps in the pool. I am soooo bored of 5 of the current maps. I didnt even like Fracture, but it was such a different map to play.
The agent ban system was done in a game called Rogue Company with about 15 agents at the time and it was fantastic there’s no reason why Valorant couldn’t do the same with 20+ ESPECIALLY after the viper nerfs
Just imagine playing Sunset without Cypher on the map - fun factor improved by 50% xD

I feel like when your mmr is down its too hard to get it back up even if you start winning games and performing in them once your mmr is down its difficult for it to get back up except if you make a new account and play on it with fresh mmr where you can get it higher

Great video, I think a custom map creator and a replay system would already make a world of difference.
It would help Riot themselves too by a lot to get inspiration for game modes and new maps + fighting against hackers.

I reckon they should add a campaign mode, if you've seen the valorant lore clips you'll see that (in my opinion) they are gearing up to either add individual short missions for each agent or a team based campaign. It also looks like you might be fighting an army of robots or cyber soldiers
Or they just want to milk it for some new Netflix series xD
About the ban players part, the issue is that players do almost not get punished. So they can kinda do whatever, besides that. Players play on ALT accounts, and do not really care what happens to it. I feel like the account should not be punished but the hardware of the user should be punished (basically that PC). That makes it so people will maybe think twice about there actions.
since they have a story which they tell using the trailers and stuff they should also do maybe one or two call ot duty style campaign missions but co-op it would make the lore interesting and more fun. Maybe 2-3 players only and it should be fruends only so the queue isnt very lonf and there should be reward for it also like a spray or a pistol skin
Just implement solo q option. It can be toggled on or off. If u play low elo, u know someone is carrying someone when u know the player skill is way above what u can handle.
That's also another great solution to fix the quality of Valorant's matchmaking! ^^
Basically you have SOLO QUEUE & FLEX QUEUE like in League of Legends...

Im so glad u also added the afk issue...cause its so fraustrating not getting something winning a 4v5 and the hidden mmr shiit is so bullshit like i dont get more than 18 even if im plat and enemy isnt plat 3 or diamond......i love the game too and story too but some shiits oh my god

Along with cheaters I’d like to see RR refunds for ANY game where a player is reported and it gets verified/player is penalized for ANY offense (afk/trolling/voice comm bans longer than 7 days)
Honestly they should fix afk detection and remake the remake system. Its so common to run into a botter spamming w on round 1 and round 2 they are detected afk but we still can't remake. First half surrendering should be blocked and instead switch to remake if the following conditions apply:
- A player is facing 200+ ping and is failing to stay connected within the game (DC's and reconnects every 30 second)
- OR Reports of sabotage and clear indication that player sabotage (consistently typing map areas in all chat, friendly fire etc.)
- OR force a remake when 3 / 5 players are muted from communicating
When a remake is made on either one of the conditions above, the offenders will be gravely punished

this video hit so hard aftter a full team of tilted/toxic players and throwers. rip. imo competitive is filled with people who dont WANT to play competitively. Peoples mentals get thrown under the bus as soon as you ask for something or give some constructive critiism. riot should make competitive have a cool down so you arent matched with the either the same players again and to make competitive a game mode that has more importance when queued. anyway it comes down to the community and the community is really shit at the moment. it seems like as soon as one person instigates or is but hurt from their small ego then everyone thinks its okay to start being toxic. Id really like to see the game to have more of a community focus. When I used to play CS it was really fun having community servers with custom game modes and maps made by the community. Also how all of the skins for the most part were made by the community. Like for a while I was into designing skins for the workshop which was really fun. I just think valorant needs more outside of the main 5v5 game
the afk player schould get way more minus rr than all the others in the team. if ur in duo q and one of you goes afk you should get no change in rr gain/lose and if a random goes afk the rr lose should decrease and rr gain increase

Papito they don't even need to go to this much trouble with map picking having both teams veto maps and pick them like competitive... The simple thing to do would be, instead of dumping random shitty maps on us, they could simply give both the teams two random maps and just have a voting system to decide...
That can work as well, while making queue times the same! ^^
like we aren't even asking for them to implement every single change at once, just small changes here and there that could just help with the life and longevity of the game. There is so much untapped potential for this game and yet riot still doesn't recognize what they have. kinda wished they fired the whole valorant dev team over the other teams they let go.. maybe we actually wouldve seen positive changes.

Also don’t allow the FF option when you have all 5 players active. It destroys the team morale when you’re down like 2 rounds, and some instalock reyna or jett presses ff and says “gg team diff”. Like why is surrendering even an option when you have all 5 ppl in your team? It’s like valorant endorses having a weak fighting spirit and not wanting to put in effort
imo only allow ff when you're down like 3-4+ rounds, since it may be already too late but i think it needs to be more since i've came back from worse

For the better matchmaking system Riot removed duo Q in league the moment u reach master (I think its like immortal in val) and they made a flex Q where there u can stack and play with ur friends and both have different ranks , why they didn't try it for val ?
And yeah ur rank decay in league for inactivity when you don't play rank for 10 days I think it get decay
Since closed beta I was wondering why they didn't copy-paste some of the solutions from League...
Reason people want replay system is for them to find clips where they died not because of their mistake but because of game's mistake.

I hate how riot games just fucks up even the easiest things in their game and they are not learning anything. I agree with most of things, especially the radianite system, cuz why the fuck should I pay extra money (or grind battlepass that I have to buy too) just to get RNG mechanic on my recon phantom skin. If i want to get a laser attachment then I have to buy the skin, buy an upgrade and pray for RNG just to get it (I know I can rebuy until I get the wanted attachment, but why?). Also very good video!
A lot of these changes come down to riot thinking less about making an exceptional game and more about how much money they can make in the short term. They need a real leadership change if any of these changes are gonna be made, it has literally nothing to do with how “smart” the employees are, it’s not that they just haven’t thought of these ideas yet, it’s that they aren’t being discussed at all because that’s not what the employees are paid to do. I don’t blame riot devs, I blame whatever higher-ups are setting the games roadmaps. These are very simple ideas, the only way they ever get implemented is if those higher-ups wise up to the fact that when you make a good game you make more money, it’s an idea that has been lost in the big name gaming industry for a while now.

This is a smaller problem, but imo the shop needs some sort of rework. There are way too many skins in the game for you to be getting 4 skins every 24 hours. It would be nice if we had something like Fortnites current shop, which has lots of options. This probably won't happen though because it's clearly working for Riot as is. Regardless, this was a great video!
It is an insignificant problem, but definitely the shop needs a quality of life change...
@Charla7an, I couldn't agree with you more. Valorant is a great FPS game. It is my first FPS game. I am ancient in gaming years but never played a modern FPS game until Valorant. I coach eSports for our high school and Valorant was what the kids wanted to play. That being said, as a new player, it is very hard to get out of lower Elos. My biggest take away from playing Valorant for the last 5 months is that the community as a whole is great. However, smurfing and cheating in this game seems to be high. I don't know if it's just the fact that most players who appear to be cheating are smurfing, but when you have an Iron 3 player hard carry a match full of silvers, it seems suspect. Especially when they insta head tap. The other major frustration as a new player is the amount of toxic players. The fastest way to make me go mute in a game is to be toxic. Call me names and I turn off comms and play solo. How about the number of times you have players want to surrender a match when it's tied? Or if you're down by 1 or 2 matches. I scratch my head on that one too. I struggle with AFKs as well. It's not much fun when you have a couple of hours to play and you get one or two matches in a row with AFKs. Your MMR goes up but that is all. You burn up a 30 minutes of que times and no one learns anything. Play on! Great channel!
About the afk thing, I think abuse could be prevented if they just make only people that didnt q with the afk person lose less or gain more. That way boosters cant abuse it.

I can't be held hostage in a 4v5 with a duo and his duo teammate saying "DONT WORRY HE WILL BE BACK HE WILL BE BACK" as if he gonna be Tenz or Something and drop 30 bomb the moment he returns and we go 0-6 to 13-6.
Real, literally my last game we had a reyna afk until round 4 while her sage duo refused to remake, and she bottom fragged anyway

Going from Immortal to Radiant is the hardest stepping stone for most Valorant players, because ranked environment gets 10x worse after that point...
@@Charla7an I was immortal 2, took a break and started playing again this year. SOLOq in APAC feels terrible in dia/asc because of the language barrier.
Thank you for the video. Your insights are truly fascinating, and I’ve found myself considering several of them, such as map selection, handling cheaters, and dealing with toxic players. However, I must say I have a different opinion regarding the idea of banning an agent from each team. Additionally, I believe implementing an age-based average for the matchmaking queue could significantly enhance the gaming experience. As a 31-year-old, I sometimes find myself in competitive matches with teammates who are children under 13 years old. Their often disruptive and disrespectful behavior can be quite embarrassing and detracts from the enjoyment of the game.

I left CS after playing since 1.6, I'm a month into Valorant and between the awful maps, crazy skin prices, horrible matcmaking, smurfs and lack of reason to play I'm ready to leave and go back to the cheaters in CS2.

My biggest issue with Val is that the game feels like a giant ranked mode. Even Team Deathmatch. This game would do so well with a Halo style community playlist
People play swiftplay like comp and comp like swiftplay
I’ve been playing regularly (Valorant being my main game) for about 2 months. Came from Apex, where pro-league has taken over that game. As far as Valorant, even back in the Beta, it was apparent it was built with esports in mind, so that’s always been the focus and would probably lose what it is if it focuses on being different.
Now as far as the game… well gaming in general. Unless it’s your job, and even if it is… if you aren’t having fun playing a game. Literally nothing else matters. Games are meant to be fun. If you tie a game to a rank, then it’s not fun. I left apex because i simply didn’t have fun any more, same with rainbow six before that.
So… unless you are going pro… if you have any other reason besides HAVING FUN, you are playing games in general wrong. Now… fun is different for others, for now, “fun” in Valorant is simply getting better to see where i get.
I think tying ourselves to one game is the bigger problem. Don’t be a “Valorant player” just be “a gamer who happens to play Valorant”

I am just a casual gamer, Valorant used to be fun, but the constant nerf makes the agents stiff, and close to being unusable. Instead of nerfing agents, because they want to change the Meta, why not buff all the agents so they can be useful again and create a ban system, so we won't have to see Viper on Breeze every single time.
I have always said this is an amazing game and could be the best but I’ve only ever mentioned the reason it isn’t, is because of the community and how much toxic players are around depressing the matches and sometimes bullying innocent kids and shii

A thing I want to add onto your points:
IMO they should be far stricter regarding toxicity and trolling. Like. FAR Stricter. Nice Communities can boost a game beyond what the game itself would achieve. For example: Age of Empires 2 is still a much played game. Yes the game itself is good and there are a lot of die-hard Fans but if the communitiy was toxic, the game would have nowhere near the player count it has. I think an AoE2 RUclipsr made a video about types of toxic players in aoe2 and the fact that not surrendering when the game is basically over being pretty far up on the list and racial slurs and stuff *not* being on there because it rarely happens speaks for itself. If you get timeouted for like a week when you are sexist, far fewer people would do it. Also muting yourself, and thus being unable to recieve comms, should count as trolling. You dont have to say anything, I just want to say "Reyna is Tree" ffs.

it's extremely hard for me to get into valorant coming from CS. the vision blocker spam is absolutely killing it for me. the mechanics are unrewarding and the maps look like some guy ran out of ideas to create simple and balanced maps. i am merely playing this so i can play with my friends and it takes 4ever to get to lvl 20. then i look at the skins... they are over the top, but in a boring way if that makes sense. they look like magic the gathering and warhammer had a baby.

I want them to buff agents and make them different from one another than just nerfing them over and over again. Give me a reason to play different agents on different maps.
why dont they implement a system that puts all toxic players in the same queue so the game wont lose even more players while nice people wont have to deal with them

You made excelent points you miss one, One thing give second life to counter strike was leaving the ppl to create their own maps like aim maps surf maps bunny jump maps etc.

Broooo what the hell, map pick system? Today i found a guy who told me about 3-5$/day undetectable wall hack/aimbot and showed me how it works in ranked game! And he playing like this for a while with no ban! This is the most important problem. Im so disappointed, cuz i was a believer that valorant is kinda secured with and they're paying attention
Personally I never had any problems with cheaters in Valorant, because anti-cheat literally has the control of your whole PC - they can see what you're watching on the internet! But, recently there has been a higher report of cheaters than ever...

replay system would make your pc not be able to handle valorant then like in fortnite theres one but everyone has it off due to performance do what woohojin says and record with your phone stop making excuses
