In this video we are taking a closer look at the new Insta360 Go, a 20g stabilized action camera. I have actually had this camera in my possession for quite some time but I didn't want to rush out a review. Because this camera is so different I wanted to wait so I could use it in a real-world situation like I normally would use a camera. I had some holidays coming up, we were heading to the Canadian Rocky Mountains and I thought that would be the perfect opportunity to put this camera to the test to see if it was practical to capture our vacation and adventures. How did it do and would I use it again... let's find out.

I've had mine for a week, and love it! Whilst I use a different system (often Osmo Pocket or Insta 360 One X) for longer form video, this little device is priceless for Instagram Stories 'behind the scenes' footage of the day. A purchase I'm truly delighted with! 👍
The footage is pretty crisp and clean
If you want to get maximum quality, I recommend you upscale to 4K in FCP or Premiere and THEN upload to youtube, it maintains a higher bitrate. Thanks for the review!
I got one. Pretty good. But that turning on and press 1,2,3 times for different modes does not work well consistently because there is no confirmation of what mode your recording. But for basic 15se,c 30sec, 1min video recording it works well.
The downside of this that magnet pendulum should have been a lipo battery and unlimited recording. 200.00. Lol

I don't quite get the 'it means I don't have to carry so much gear' argument. Surely, if you're going to be taking something this size you may as well just record on your phone which, most likely, records at a higher resolution anyway and isn't limited by segment times. This just seems to be a surplus gadget when, like as not, you already have something with you that does a better job.

No it is not. It exports traditional 16 x 9 flat videos

If I was to go to such beautiful locations, I definitely would not pick this camera to film them.
Though, I would buy it for around $100.

$200 for 8gb 30s video clip. Just use your phone it is free and most likely better HD and 100 times longer video.
I considered it (but decided against) for recording unexpected situations. People act differently if they see you pull out and start recording with your phone. This on the other hand is less familiar so if say they're being an a**hole security guard at a store (this happened), pressing the button on what looks like a necklace is more discreet.

why not they make it to where you can use Sd card?
I bought one and it came with a bizarre connection that doesn't work on my phone. Won't connect to Bluetooth. The app has no help menu. If I could I would strangle the designer. After a few months of drama - its going in the trash.
I'll wait for either the next version or someone else to copy it so I can actually record a video. I'm not sure if insta360 will make a version that can record longer video though (even though it only requires a firmware update) because I wonder are they worried that it will harm the sales of their bigger cameras 🤔 oh well, missed opportunity, hopefully someone will copy it soon, its a nice design 👍
For the 2.7k footage recording, how many second it can record? And the output will be 1080p? What's the difference then recording 1080p and out 1080p with 2.7k n output 1080p?
This is the first time I have heard someone say it can do 15 second, 30 second and 60 second clips. I didn't know it did one minute clips.
The 6O second option came shortly after release as a firmware update
Is it a 60 second loop or just stop recording after 60 sec?
How many clips of 30 sec0nds do you think you get out of it?
According to the Insta360 ONE site you can get about 60 minutes of run time between the camera and the case charge. That equals 200 clips at an average length of 18 seconds. Of course you can charge The case back up and in between via a power bank

I cannot get mine to connect via bluetooth; have you been able to? Maybe do a video on accomplishing this?
So far I do NOT rate this Camera very high at all because I cannot use it! The App refuses to install on both my phone's and I have NO idea why! I bought a very cheap BobLov camera with night vision and it works perfectly straight out of the box and NI app is even needed!

Hey if you thought stupidly short clips were a "feature", do not update your firmware. You will de-feature your camera!

@@GoatZilla surely its an option and the 15, 30 and 1 minute intervals still work?
OK I googled it and its additional and meant to be used when attached to a drone not for normal use as it can overheat but won't overheat when used on a drone as its getting cooled from air passing over and the rotars.
@@DroningaboutIreland Yes! So stunted recording times area FEATURE and not an arbitrary limitation placed on the product! Don't update your firmware or you will de-feature your camera!
This is really for IG or FB but the quality is bad compare this any smartphone this days. The mounting ability is really good.
Is this also good with androids/samsung?
Ya, it kills me that I ordered the camera for the wedding of my granddaughter in Hawaii. They shipped it but to the wrong address and it was not recovered. All I got is a refund as it is not out of stock. Rats.

@@insta360 I purchased it early to use at a wedding of my granddaughter in Hawaii where cameras were not to be used. The Insta 360 Go was okayed by the bride, Ut was shipped to the wrong address 300 miles away. FedEx showed it wad delivered to me. FedEx turned it over to USPS but would not go to the home to check. I bitched and was given a refund but you guys were out of stock so I lost out in all respects. I still want one to go with my other Insta 360 One. And so it goes

Wouldn't a phone do a better job ? you already have it with you and it records better video, you also dont have to buy anything except a lens if you want that wide angle video the go has
Have you had chance to use this with it's new FPV mode for longer footage?
I have not used it in that mode yet. Are usually tend to capture small clips with it, but a nice feature for those that do you need longer recording. I just actually started to learn FPV flying, I haven’t mounted this camera on top yet but I do plan on doing so once I’m out of the crashing stage LOL
I am sorry but FLASH CUT is NOT WORKING on ANDROID devices also I can not choose video clips from my camera roll( Android) and put in a story. or edit it in Insta 360 Go app, I wonder why they dont provise exactly the same features of IOS , for Android SYSTEMS too.

I’m thinking of buying a osmo pocket and buy a mic adapter for it and some more equipment for vlogging, 4K video etc but DJI has just released the mic adapter for the osmo action so which one should I buy?
That is a tough choice. Personally I finally get more use out of the action it’s just generally all-around more versatile for my shooting needs. They’re both excellent cameras I guess it boils down to To durability Over a mechanical stabilizer.

No no, the arbitrarily short clips are a feature! As he drones on for nearly 12 minutes.

Unfortunately no the Insta360 GO does not support external microphones
Can the editor work for a GoPro?
Go pros have their own editor it’s not as robust as the Insta 360 but unfortunately they are not compatible

I just got mine. How do you prevent it from shooting the bottom of your chin when you wear it around your chest? Mine does that and it’s kind of annoying. Any tips?

Yeah the case charges it and then you recharge a case by micro USB. And I agree it does not have the best battery life you just have to remember to keep it charged
The music is bit too epic. Doesn't really match good to the footage. Just sayin....

I do believe this will connect to an android device via a cable into the micro SD port that you would normally charge with. But I could be wrong I will do a bit more research
