So Levi decide to break these chains by letting him rest.
First his mother .. after his first friends .. Isabel and Furlan ... His squad... His subordinates... Kenny.... Commander Erwin.... and much of the legion ... And yet Levi keeps going...

Aot is a masterpiece. Beautiful music and an outstanding storyline. It deals with emotions perfectly. It explains a deeper meaning of freedom and love.
*SPOILERS* The fact that for his whole life, Erwin knew that there were people outside the walls and there was much more than just them, and he dies right before he gets a chance to see that. Something about that is forever going to upset me, and while Armin was most likely the right choice and Erwin needed his rest, it still will always anger me. Only if there were two injections and Levi didn’t have to make a choice so hard.
To be honest with you guys Armin been kind of useless lately NOW HEAR ME OUT I like armin Ik Season 1-3 my 3rd favorite character He got brains ok he is smart he saved main characters lives and made this plot so much damn good But when his Titan….dude only used it in Marley and we haven’t seen him in his Titan since I want him to use that Titan so BADLY I know armin can do something spectacular with his Titan I just hope he uses it somehow against eren Maybe he is the one who will stop eren But we just have to wait and see
I think that by letting Erwin die, he was escaping from the hell that surrounded him; Levi really cared about him, he didn't see saving him as just his "duty", but in the end, preferred to set Erwin free, also, I don't think Erwin wanted to be saved either; Somehow, he had already given up on his dream, so what else awaited him?

Armin and Mikasa had PTSD before the titan attack, moreso than Eren even. They were all shattered psyches when they started training and no matter how many Titans they kill, no matter how hard they work there will always be that ever-increasing ball of pain inside each of them. This anime is a meat grinder for characters snd audience alike.
As much as I love Erwin and Armin, I felt extremely bad for Levi. Don't be mad at him for picking Erwin over Armin, he literally doesn't have anyone who he can depend on anymore, not that he ever has on anyone but he lost everyone he has ever cared for. Not to mention he has gone through some really tough times all alone in this cruel world since he was way too young and also after he was released from the underground / slums by Erwin. He really doesn't deserve any of the pain, he lost his only family; his mom. His friends Farlan and Issabel, his squad, his own uncle Kenny who he lived with for a short period of time and now at last, his best friend Erwin. He loses everyone he ever cares for leaving him nothing but all alone. He never chose Armin, he chose Erwin to rest after all that he has done, turning into a devil and sacrificing himself and others for the victory of humanity over Titans. I'd say personally his decision was right, Erwin deserved to rest after such a long fight. He died like a hero, the hero he always was and will be. Erwin really wanted to go to the basement and was considering sacrificing everything just for a shot at reaching it, but the guilt of all the soldiers' deaths and the duty to humanity made him feel obligated to make sure those deaths meant something, but he was having extreme difficulty giving up on his dream. In the end, he did not want to make the decision himself, that is why Levi stepped in and made the call for him. Levi just told Erwin what he thought he wanted to hear. This is why Erwin gave a faint smile before going on the suicide charge. He was relieved that he did not have to make the choice himself, because someone was able to do it for him. I feel like he is heavily underappreciated, he's definitely one of my favorite characters ever.
CONTAINS SPOILERS: in my opinion levi is one of the best characters of this anime along with erwin; hes one of the purest of heart that ive seen on animes, i mean he couldve kept to himself the needle and not saying anything bout it, but he did it and for a superior good, carried with the most difficult choice, and not all stop and think about what he must have felt; the responsability of sacrificing the most capable man to lead an army, because i do think erwin was the one who must have been survived i mean levi has lost so much, so i dont think he was just impulsive about feelings, i dont think its fair that people judge him like a weak man, for me, that he decided to save a kid just shows what a human and complex character he is. i bet those three idiots reminded him of the family he lost, in the end it was erwin who trusted him to do what he thought it was better. i admire him so much, because he might seem cruel and distant, but he actually cares about many things, it is the price of surviving, and yet he keeps on going.He is one of those characters that deserve so much more recognition, not only for being a badass (which HE IS), but also for showing what is to be a human surrounded by cruelty and difficult decisions in a world where youre always going to be judged no matter if you tried to do good.
I absolutely agree. And people still be hating on him just for being famous =_= like jeez, there's a reason why people love him. Most Levi fans who used to be hardcore back in 2013 have all gown up but people still judge us.

I just finished the last episode of AoT S3 Part 2 and that song played at the end again and I immediately looked it up and found this masterpiece. I thank you for your work, this is truly a beautiful piece.
I think the one Levi loves most is Erwin, no matter it's romantic or not. Levi trusts Erwin completely. He wanted to break Erwin's legs to let him stay safe. He wanted to sacrifice himself to let Erwin and Eren run away. He was so desperate when Zeke was taken away in front of him. He didn't inject Erwin because he wanted to let him rest. In other words, he chose Erwin, not humanity’s victory. After that, He took Erwin's body to a clean room and put a vase of flowers on the side. Four years later, he still kept the promise in mind. In chapter 112 "It took so long... I think I'm finally going to fulfill the vow I made to you that day, Erwin... At last, I'll be able to prove it. Your death had meaning..." And in chapter 132, everyone thought about how to stop Eren while Levi thought about killing Zeke... I hope Levi can kill Zeke and be reunited with Erwin...
I completely agree. Since we don't know how real the Ackerman bond is, I feel like Levi started following Erwin out of admiration and ended up doing it out of adoration. Erwin may have been "selfish" by wanting to pursue his dream over humanity's freedom, but then so was Levi because he chose to save Erwin from the guilt of living in a hell of a world over making him a titan for the sake of humanity. Their relationship is complex and I love how Isayama managed to do that considering it was unfolding behind the scenes. I'm not sure Levi will last too long, but if he really is set on killing Zeke, I hope he knows Erwin will forgive him if he doesn't.
He cut off Zeke's head, when Zeke showed up from Eren's founder titan skeleton he directly talked to Levi because he know that there is a dept still to pay... He didn't finish his speech because levi with his aching body and soul in a second fulfilled his promise to Erwin and killed the beast titan who was part of this tragedy
Stinky Beaver it’s still sad when a character dies and you’ve know the character in the show to be someone who has nearly helped everyone and fought until the end.

During the part where the song changes near the end I tried remembering the best moments with AOT, and I just realized how long it has been how fun it has been, and I remember every moment when I couldn’t hold the tears from falling down.

Like in chess-- you have to sacrifice your pawns, bishops, knights, and other pieces in order to get a chance at striking the king-- you'll never win a match without losing anything.
Erwin gave up on the his dream in the end, something he has been trying his hardest to achieve throughout everything, just for the victory of humanity.
Hardly heard any beautiful melody like this that's really heart touching and sad at same time while not being outright gloomy, dull or terrifying. Who ever composed this legendary OSTs deserves much more recognition
Oh fuck. I have watched attack on titan when I was young. Last week I started watch it again. (I have never seen season 3 or 4) and today I saw this episode. I CRIED SO HARD! This music... this is everything. I am pianist, and I want learn to play this masterpiece. I loved Erwin, he was born to be commander to Scouts. I feel bad for him. His biggest dream was going to Eren's house basement... and he never get know the secret of titans... but like Levi said, now he can rest in peace.

In my opinion, I think Levi is that one dude who has gone through it all yet survives just to see his people die😔😭 He is like that main hero that has to keep going even though obstacles stop him. He's a strong character, physically, emotionally, and mentally.
I hold in reverence Levi’s choice to live. Every his choice. It’s not only because he endured so much pain and continues to care about others. And not only because he adultly takes responsibility of every his step or even motive, adultly abides by every promise. Just because of Levi’s fidelity of living sincerely through the light of his truth. To the very end. From the very start. He’s been not betrayed ever by himself compare to the majority. Erwin's death made me sad but Bert's death, I couldn't see an satisfaction in his death. The way they killed him I cried for him. He just wanted to go home, my theory is Marley has his family hostage or some shit hence why he caused such destruction?
I honestly found Bert's death satisfying. To a great extent he still chose to stay on the path he was on, and asking for the very people he betrayed to help him was comical. The real humanity wins again.
This is amazing!! It made me cry a little again... I did it a lot with that episode haha I think it's one of the few that truly surpass the manga. The voice actors, the no music til the decision and Erwin's death.... WIT did an amazing job without a doubt. Applauses for you! I think one of the main reason Levi choose Armin is because Armin had a simple dream about what he wanted after everything but Erwin didn't really didn't know what he'll do if everything was over, because levi asked Erwin that what he will after he discovered what was in the basement but Erwin said he doesn't know yet, but he had a flashback of Armin telling Eren and Mikasa that they have to see the sea, liquid fire etc..
this character went through so much pain and had to see everyone he loves, dying.. i think, eren, armin and mikasa remind him of himself with farlan and isabel. he cares, maybe more than everyone else. yes, he does.. his mom, farlan, isabel, squad levi, especially petra, erwin, kenny, MANGA SPOILER ALERT!!! hange.. i guess this is the price of being humanity's strongest soldier. my favourite character, forever and always. "give up on your dreams and die"

Erwin really wanted to go to the basement and was considering sacrificing everything just for a shot at reaching it, but the guilt of all the soldiers' deaths and the duty to humanity made him feel obligated to make sure those deaths meant something, but he was having extreme difficulty giving up on his dream. In the end, he did not want to make the decision himself, that is why Levi stepped in and made the call for him. Levi just told Erwin what he thought he wanted to hear. This is why Erwin gave a faint smile before going on the suicide charge. He was relieved that he did not have to make the choice himself, because someone was able to do it for him. I feel like he is heavily underappreciated, he's definitely one of my favorite characters ever.

in my opinion levi is one of the best characters of this anime along with erwin; hes one of the purest of heart that ive seen on animes, i mean he couldve kept to himself the needle and not saying anything bout it, but he did it and for a superior good, carried with the most difficult choice, and not all stop and think about what he must have felt; the responsability of sacrificing the most capable man to lead an army, because i do think erwin was the one who must have been survived i mean levi has lost so much, so i dont think he was just impulsive about feelings, i dont think its fair that people judge him like a weak man, for me, that he decided to save a kid just shows what a human and complex character he is. i bet those three idiots reminded him of the family he lost, in the end it was erwin who trusted him to do what he thought it was better. i admire him so much, because he might seem cruel and distant, but he actually cares about many things, it is the price of surviving, and yet he keeps on going.He is one of those characters that deserve so much more recognition, not only for being a badass (which HE IS), but also for showing what is to be a human surrounded by cruelty and difficult decisions in a world where youre always going to be judged no matter if you tried to do good.
I absolutely agree. And people still be hating on him just for being famous =_= like jeez, there's a reason why people love him. Most Levi fans who used to be hardcore back in 2013 have all gown up but people still judge us.

I think the one Levi loves most is Erwin, no matter it's romantic or not.
Levi trusts Erwin completely. He wanted to break Erwin's legs to let him stay safe. He wanted to sacrifice himself to let Erwin and Eren run away. He was so desperate when Zeke was taken away in front of him.
He didn't inject Erwin because he wanted to let him rest. In other words, he chose Erwin, not humanity’s victory. After that, He took Erwin's body to a clean room and put a vase of flowers on the side.
Four years later, he still kept the promise in mind.
In chapter 112 "It took so long... I think I'm finally going to fulfill the vow I made to you that day, Erwin... At last, I'll be able to prove it. Your death had meaning..."
And in chapter 132, everyone thought about how to stop Eren while Levi thought about killing Zeke...
I hope Levi can kill Zeke and be reunited with Erwin...
I completely agree. Since we don't know how real the Ackerman bond is, I feel like Levi started following Erwin out of admiration and ended up doing it out of adoration.
Erwin may have been "selfish" by wanting to pursue his dream over humanity's freedom, but then so was Levi because he chose to save Erwin from the guilt of living in a hell of a world over making him a titan for the sake of humanity.
Their relationship is complex and I love how Isayama managed to do that considering it was unfolding behind the scenes. I'm not sure Levi will last too long, but if he really is set on killing Zeke, I hope he knows Erwin will forgive him if he doesn't.
In a interview, director of AOT (Araki) said "There is a emotion between them that cannot be concluded as "Friendship" So you know *insert leny face*

He cut off Zeke's head, when Zeke showed up from Eren's founder titan skeleton he directly talked to Levi because he know that there is a dept still to pay... He didn't finish his speech because levi with his aching body and soul in a second fulfilled his promise to Erwin and killed the beast titan who was part of this tragedy

Throughout the series, it's not enough that everyone gives their all in a fight-- they also have to sacrifice. Erwin has to sacrifice his troops to achieve victory, the Warriors have to sacrifice their past allegiance with Eldia to complete their mission, and Eren has to sacrifice his mercy to gain freedom. Like in chess-- you have to sacrifice your pawns, bishops, knights, and other pieces in order to get a chance at striking the king-- you'll never win a match without losing anything.
Erwin gave up on the his dream in the end, something he has been trying his hardest to achieve throughout everything, just for the victory of humanity.
Hardly heard any beautiful melody like this that's really heart touching and sad at same time while not being outright gloomy, dull or terrifying.

Oh fuck. I have watched attack on titan when I was young. Last week I started watch it again. (I have never seen season 3 or 4) and today I saw this episode. I CRIED SO HARD! This music... this is everything. I am pianist, and I want learn to play this masterpiece. I loved Erwin, he was born to be commander to Scouts. I feel bad for him. His biggest dream was going to Eren's house basement... and he never get know the secret of titans... but like Levi said, now he can rest in peace.

In my opinion, I think Levi is that one dude who has gone through it all yet survives just to see his people die😔😭 He is like that main hero that has to keep going even though obstacles stop him. He's a strong character, physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Erwin's death made me sad but Bert's death, I couldn't see an satisfaction in his death. The way they killed him I cried for him. He just wanted to go home, my theory is Marley has his family hostage or some shit hence why he caused such destruction?
I honestly found Bert's death satisfying. To a great extent he still chose to stay on the path he was on, and asking for the very people he betrayed to help him was comical. The real humanity wins again.

Yes! I felt it was appropriate to improvise some of it in that section since it's *that* scene for Bertholdt
I think one of the main reason Levi choose Armin is because Armin had a simple dream about what he wanted after everything but Erwin didn't really didn't know what he'll do if everything was over, because levi asked Erwin that what he will after he discovered what was in the basement but Erwin said he doesn't know yet, but he had a flashback of Armin telling Eren and Mikasa that they have to see the sea, liquid fire etc..
