Creating a Black Swan inspired Dress from Wrapping Paper?!

The incredible costumes by the Mulleavy sisters of Rodarte have always stood out as excellence in film costuming. I loved the attention to detail, the way their clothing tells a story, so it is no surprise that I wanted to try and give it a "Gunnar" spin.
True to my Project Runway background, I wanted to use an unconventional material. I chose this wrapping paper because of the stunning texture and the way it reflects light. Unfortunately, it was not wearable, but fret not! I re-used the materials for wrapping gifts at the holidays. We also recycled the paper afterward.
