Why is the Israel/Gaza conflict the epicenter of this race? Neither men are running for President and don’t have any control of what’s happening over there. Shouldn’t the race be about solving everyday common local problems like food prices, gasoline prices, housing, public transportation, education, etc????

For one, for many NYers, Israel/Hamas is a bellwether which informs us about whether a person has common sense and can tell right from wrong. Second, the race is for a seat in the Federal government, which is not well-designed to help solve local problems.
