I use the lens as a sort of 'day travel kit' along with a 50mm f1.8 and 100mm f2.8. They are all light and small, accept a 49mm filter, so reduces the number of filters to carry and all give great results

      That's a great travel kit.

I use one on my 5D mki with an adaptor. I've found it to be decently sharp wide open.

Never owned a 100mm from Oly but I've tried it on a roll once and yes this thing is so compact that along with the 28 and 50mm I gives a great travel kit !!

I absolutely agree! I have LOUSY lenses that make photos I love. Of course, I also have superb lenses that make photos I love. LOL It's hard to lose if your vision meshes with whatever lens is on the camera. :D
But, I really do need to slow down buying vintage glass. I have enough to do most anything I want several times over. And, except at the very edges of the performance envelope, I can pick up pretty much any of them at the right focal length and get the shot. And, I still fall in love with almost every lens I shoot, just so long as I have something nice to make an image of!

:D Same here. And it's been interesting in this series to see that, yeah, I love my few Zeiss lenses, but man, some lenses that look really bad on some basic testing charts are so good for real-world use. One of the big takeaways for me from, specifically, the test chart that I use (and that I think I may be the only person on RUclips using) is that there truly is no connection between how a lens performs on a test chart, with an lp/mm rating, or light loss, distortion, etc., when it comes to how well a lens can capture images.

I might be able to snag one of these for a bargin. What is the Micro Four Thirds focal range equivalent? 56mm??

For m43, multiply the FF focal length by 2. That's true for all m43 lenses. The crop compare in the second section of this video should show what that would look like.

@@DavidHancock Haha I don't know why I thought the maths would be different because it's a vintage lens 🤣

As an owner of the 28mm f/2, I can attest that there is a noticeable optical cost to the extra speed.

🤓 I'm actually kinda glad to hear that as my f/2 Zuiko arrives today and the 2.8 soon. I wonder what's in the pipeline for that?
