I was a game tech at the Showbiz on Noland Road in Independence Mo. I did fill in at the Antioch store (the one in the video) a few times as well. We used to perform maintenance on the shows weekly and we would calibrate/synchronize every movement on every character once a month. They ran on adjustable dual action pneumatic cylinders. The speed of each cylinder was adjustable in both directions as well as the range of motion. There was a special video we used to get the speed of each motion precisely adjusted to the proper speed, which is what allowed the characters to stay in synch with the music. It took a few hours to do it if you did it right. All of the control solenoids and adjustment valves were under the stage and accessible via trap doors in the stage. Good times!
This brought me back. I can remember that helicopter. I believe the arcade section was way better than the current ones. I could remember the days of Pac Man, Q-bert, Donkey Kong Jr.. I grew up in Kenner, Louisiana and we had one there.
