Glad you had fun with this bro!! :)
Yeah the biggest mistake of the run, sending in Alakazam into a Physical move. It's defense is non-existent... A Slowbro pivot into that Cross Chop would've been better cause of how bulky their line is.
I'm glad to be seeing others play Pat's game. I just started it myself and have been enjoying the changes. I hope larger creators pick up on it as well.
@@PomminPs Just finished watching. Definitely give it another try. I'd like to see you use Typhlosion this time, though. Or Feraligatr as that would help more with Lance.
@@Psycho_Ragedyou can guarantee staryu or get a vaporeon which are both better than feraligator vs lance. The main thing for beating lance is having golem/rhydon. Very few Pokémon can switch in against zapdos and win that 1v1.
PKHeX doesn't like when you hack in items directly into the bag, but hacking items onto Pokémon and then moving them into the bag works fine. It's good for if you want to do something like get a few items/Balls/TMs early, since you can do up to six at a time, or more if you don't mind messing around with the Pokémon in the PC.
Ive been watching Smith Plays for what feels like a decade, since his BO2 Top 10 days. seeing this explosion hes gotten in the pokemon community because of this frankly really dope rom hack has made my very happy
It is still so surprising to me the AI was not changed, when I played this game I was sure it had been enchanced. I feel like trainers didn't switch pokemon into "doesn"t effect" pokemon so much, but I guess they didn't have the choice in the vanilla version. They did it all the time in Legacy to me.
I'm pretty sure this hack was made with a casual playthrough in mind, and not so much the hardcore nuzlocke. So it makes sense that its pretty easy when you hack in rare candies.
This was awesome. I'm not sure how much rare candy-ing you did, but I'd love to see you re-visit this now that hard mode is an official option at the start of the game (the level cap of e4 and champion is 50 now!)
The level cap actually raises after Will, Koga and Bruno respectively. Giving you 55 for Karen and Lance. Not sure why you don't get 56 for Lance though
I finished my Nuzlocke of this game today. I did a very similar pivot mistake on Machamp with my Espeon. Luckily, it is bulkier than Alakazam and lived. Realized afterwards that it is better to switch into Rockslide (75) than into Cross-Chop (100*1.5/2=75, high crit rate).
Couldn't be me wiping two times already before the second gym (even though I died barely from forgetting the rival fight after bugsy and doing it beforehand with level 12-13 pokemon. Still love the changes. And I didn't know he had a 2 Million subbed channel lmao
The 2nd rival fight after dealing with Rocket in the slowpoke well is way tougher than in the original game. Smith Plays did CoD zombies way before making his Pokémon channel.
@@Psycho_Raged I meant "I nearly didn't die to the second rival" 🤦♂️ but we'll, it's my third game I attempt to nuzlocke and attempt three goes swimmingly (almost died to the three baby rocket again)
Hey I wiped to Lance on my first attempt too, the E4 is a huge difficulty spike, the Zapdos with a buffed Sky Attack is a bit excessive. Wiped again on the salty runback so I dunno. I should probably put this out there that the Hard mode option in v1.2 limits your E4 level cap to 50 AND you dont gain any exp in the Will fight. Bad design choice right there imo. Great run, good luck on attempt 2
@@theserpent8667I believe his reasoning was that Johto is also a celebration of Kanto as well as its own region. He only used Kanto Pokemon that weren’t heavily featured in RBY however
Good video, enjoying the game alot and this was well edited and entertaining. I will say, I disagree with the rare candies. It makes the game too easy as you can have as many Pokemon leveled to gym leaders ace as you want, even in a casual playthrough You don't really have that option, plus you're not getting to appreciate the work Smith put into balancing the level curve! That being said, I've subbed and would love to see this again minus the rare candies (Maybe limit them to earning 5 after each boss battle or something?)
From what I can tell, the community is 50/50 on the whole candies thing. Personally, I think it takes away from the challenge but I accept a sort of middle ground, like using candies for the red fight but not for Gym leaders etc. In regular Pokemon games, candies essentially guarantee success though.@@Seth_Hezekiah
@@vDomMusic the candy pill is standard. It's not fun to watch someone spend hours grinding, it's cringe. I don't really care if it makes it easier, grinding isn't a challenge in the first place.
no he didn’t, it’s actually the best starter for a nuzlocke of crystal legacy. Level 10 leech seed is great for catching early Pokémon easily without having to worry about crits. Meganium late game is a tank that can set up screens/ leech seed. With access to synthesis+giga drain was also boosted in power in this rom hack. It takes hits for days, and is constantly regaining health and can boost your entire teams defenses.
Why does every single pokemon youtube nickname their pokémon then refer to them by their nicknames in their videos like the viewers are supposed to know who theyre talking about. Nicknamed pokémon are just dumb and annoying

YO. Thanks so much Pat! This was so awesome! I need more hacks! (and let me play test)
The flower shop sells gold berries after badge 7, so you could stack the whole team with auto-healing.
Those aren’t that great. The miracle berries are better

Nuzlocke with rare candies import? Nah…
I’ve been trying nuzlocks on this but not many big nuzlocks are covering it, nice to see a smaller channels with same level of content
Yoo let's goo!! I saw TheSmithPlay's video and I've been itching to play it! This game looks sick!
it’s so sick! play it!
I installed it 2days ago, have been playing on my phone (android) and its really good. Already at morty now
I just started hit Faulkner, with Chik, Larvitar, gastly and houndour

did you forget about the extreme speed dratini the elder gives?

The only thing I don’t agree with is going off the Pokémon league champions highest level it makes sweeping the other elite 4 members so much easier
I decided to watch this video to do some research while grinding for my own Elite 4 run of this game :)
Now I'm scared.

Wow, the seasoning-ish naming theme kinda fits for some reason
Incredibly Pat had said that the AI is unaltered. Shows just how good the AI actually is when it has some good teams
Really enjoyed this video! Would love to see that thing you said to comment about if we wanted you to do. (Not saying what because spoilers!)
I feel like it’s mandatory to take the leafy boy on your first play though just due to how much work went into making it better
Well done bruv. Solid attempt.
I woulda fucked with the video more but I don't like hacked rare cnadies, especially early game when grinding is at its most dangerous
Wow, everything started going south with that machamp cross chop crit.
In crystal the dragons den gives you an extreme speed dratini
Cross chop was the death of me
My first time through I wiped to Karen's gengar. Three shadow ball cirts mixed with perma hypnosis. It was terrible.
pkhex corrupts your bag because they added extra bag slots in this rom hack
A doduo named dill😂 dilldoduo😂
Go again! =D
You're braver then me i
I realize i didn't wanna do a locke at Falkner 😂

There's more of them and they're more useful overall. The fact that everyone has at least some johto pokes is the important change.
Awesome video. How do you hack in those rare candies? The hack ive tried on mGba doesnt work for some reason :(
So since it’s a Rom Hack, regular Gameshark codes don’t work. you’ll need special ones but I’m not too sure where to find them
the rare candy code is in the description of the hour long release video
How you evolve trade evolutions like alakazam and steelix
Lemonpepper is a unit
What were you cooking with all of those ingredients??
Nice video!
P.S can you tell me the exact code you used to hack in rare candys i cant understand the guide :(
i used PkHex and I broke my save LOL so I’d ask Pat
If you’re still looking, the code is listed in the description of Pat’s video
@@ONLY_RR7 yeah i found it a couple of days ago
It bugged me alot that your sprites had one eye bigger than other, the complete run, prbably problem of resizing
why you skip the 2nd rival battle at burnt tower. Did you lose
I miss Vanilla 😢
mint , cayenne and pepper😭😭😭
also tackle the challenge again and defeat red
how u get rare candies before the gym
Can't end on a loss ;)
Whats with the AI not healing in battle? Like they usually always heal when their health gets too low
How tf did he get all them rare candies?
Smith gave a code for infinite candies.
how did you get so many rare candies pls tell me
Amazing edieting
I don’t understand why a decent amount of these trainers don’t have pokemon of their type speciality 😅😅😅
They all literally do.
I can't find Swinub 😢
How do you evolve kadabra?
gotta retry
Can someone please tell me how to apply rare candy cheat in this game
You gotta re do this one first you can’t just do another game!
Do it again
