Amazing car! Great design and high quality interior. Had one back in college. I loved the CVT! Was very smooth and responsive, and was always in the powerband.
Wish i could say the same about nissan cvts. While i never owned one, my stepmom had a 2016 sentra and the single time i drove it, it kept revving up to 4k rpm, then slowly went back down to 2k, then straight back up to 4k when all i was doing was coasting at 40 mph. About a month after that, the transmission died on her at a gas station and it wouldve been more to fix the transmission than the worth of the car
My mom had a 2016 when it came out. The interior was ahead of its class at the time and the engine sounded great, but the horrible transmission (rebuilt 2x in the 3 year lease period!) and the front wheel drive torque steer over hinder the experience.
Yea maxima is a good car but 40-45k is greed I remember in 1998 you could buy a brand new maxima from Nissan dealership for 25k that included sunroof and foglights at that
I had a 2016. Had issues with knocking in the back which took Nissan 2 years to resolve (bad shock) and front control arms and bushings needed replacement 50k in. I do remember you have to change cvt oil religiously every 30k or else it slows down and higher rpm than usual.
The Nissan Maxima is expected to return as a EV for 2026 MY with a unique design, interior enhancements with some Luxurious feel. The Maxima may drop the CVT in favor of a 9 speed automatic transmission. It's expected to arrive at showrooms in Fall 2025 with a estimated pricing of $67,000 for base Engage and $95,000 for Platinum+
I'm very pissed off at Nissan they discontinued the maxima I don't like cvt but I'm impressed by the style and interior it's a powerful V6 engine I wish they'd put the vr30 twin turbo V6 from the q50 and gave it a 9 speed I've looked up how it is to replace a cvt $4000 nope I'm good.
This exact car (color and model) is for sale near me for 27k with 20k miles CPO, thinking about picking it up. I'm not a fan of the CVT but I love the rest of it.
Would definitely have a lot more buyers if they had an actual transmission instead of a nasty unreliable CVT. At least offer a manual transmission in the Maxima and Altima, Nissan... I miss the old Nissan back in the 90s when they made great cars with good transmissions.
It’s just blasphemous to pair a V6 with a CVT, and not just any V6, this is a VQ35, just an absolute peach of a motor ruined by that nasty CVT, this would be a great car if it had a 9 speed automatic.
2013’s are prolly the most seen year Nissan you see on the road today & guess what….. C V T ENGINES & 300’000 mile run……… guaranteed you just do general maintenance you know take care of the car
We had one of these back when they first came out it was not a good car even compared to the Altima we had, definitely wasn't worth the premium over it. My biggest complaint was the seats were very hard and still are in the newer ones that makes for painful road trips, the next was atrocious road noise for a flagship car mixed with the sunroof sounded like it open after 75 mph, and final it looks good but its cheap once you start poking around like the econo grade carpet good luck getting dirt out. I soon found out that's how all panoramic sunroofs were from Nissan, save your money on this thing it's not worth the price or the depreciation. Too bad they let Infiniti die those were real cars with amazing quality back then.
As a Nissan/Infiniti enthusiasts I understand your statement even tho the maxima is the top tier sedan for Nissan it almost feels as if the Altima is equally built to same standards to the maxima minus having the panoramic sunroof the fully loaded Altima can feel just as smooth as the maxima
Nissan went out with a 50/50 bang. Yes the final year Maxima is stylish and has the incredible VQ V6 but $45,000 with a CVT? Yuck! Had the car been cheaper and came with a traditional automatic or dare I say, even a manual transmission, it would have been a proper send off.
They don't sell the Mazda6 anymore which this would compete against. Imagine a new Mazda6 with their new inline 6 engine and 8 speed auto against this...
Same comments about the CVT, I've had this Gen Maxima for almost 9 years and I LOVE IT.
If you're gonna have fixed paddle shifters, why on gods green earth does it make sense to put a cvt in it? What is Nissan smokin?
It’s smoking that Renault puff
Would’ve been nice if they would’ve put the 9 speed from the Frontier instead of the CVT
When it tries to hold one ratio it provides the full 300hp constantly and they’ll haul. Thank y’all for the pov 🫡
That’s A Very Nice Nissan Maxima👍👌🏁🚗💨!!!
And CVT for V6???

Really wish this platform lived to see the 9 speed.

Was the CVT trans oil changed regularly during that period?
45k for a v6 is crazy !
45 for a v6 isn’t crazy, but 45 for a cvt in a “sports car” is
Imagine paying 20k more for a Turbocharged 4cyl?? I'd take the V6 any day
I paid 40k
Yea maxima is a good car but 40-45k is greed I remember in 1998 you could buy a brand new maxima from Nissan dealership for 25k that included sunroof and foglights at that
I really like this Maxima & can't wait to buy it.
cvt is garbage

Ahhh the inside of my batmobile on RUclips lol. The trans is questionable but it’s still my baby.
My bf has it i was surprised for the high quality and well built

Loves from India❤
very nice👍😃

That CVT honestly wines doesn't it!!
when was the last time you drove a nissan maxima ?
i’m so used to having a car that shows the exact speed on the dash bc of my maxima and i don’t think i can ever go back
Nice car.
Wow what an awesome engine RUINED by that stupid CVT 😒😷
JATCO has fallen so far they had to license from ZF to make 9-Speed.
JATCO used to be something you know…

What would win in 1/4 mile. This or an Elantra N?
My best quarter mile on a stock 2017 Maxima was 13.8s on the street. It will be very close!
It was an awesome car, they discontinued it unfortunately!!
Powerful engine
And a shitty gearbox
The base Tesla model 3 is still quicker smoother and quieter

Cool!
Mind blowing
I hate that Nissan added the CVT to this wonderful vehicle! Sad to me..
I have been looking at cars and just wanted to know if this car is reliable?
Amazing that you get Lamborghini paddle shifters on a $45k car with a CVT.

Nissan Maxima powerful car😅

The comments under a Nissan video are always the same, we get it trashy CVT… move on.
♥️
I get that the CVT was used for fuel economy but they ruined the powertrain
ruined the entire car

One of my friends has that car
Beautiful car, lovely engine but a crappy transmission. It’s a shame Nissan ruined the Maxima with that horrid CVT.
Beating on a car with 128 miles?

i wouldve bought this if it didnt have a cvt transmission
If it wasn’t for that shitty jatco trans those could really awesome sedans.

Not bad for Nissan Maxima but saddly I’m disappointed that I’m driving ah 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer though 😣😌
Regálamela 😊❤😊❤
🦾
What an incredibly outdated interior.. Good! 🤗
I have rogue with CVT, God knows how much I hate this transmission
You hate it more because it’s a v4. So disappointing even though I love Nissan.
🎉❤😊
❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
I hate cvt cars, speaking as an owner of cvt honda
the inside seems so cluttered
Cluttered how?

Nissan sucks. Mazda is better

@@KillaninjaFCRight. I can’t believe they add CVT in this maxima.
GOD I HATE CVTs
Cvt gearbox is garbage
Altima is better IMO
The maxima just faster than the 2023 Altima that's all
