Kolakham is situated in 3 hr 33 min (113.4 km) via NH 31/NH 717 and Lava Rd from Jalpaiguri Road. From Malbazaar 2 hr 16 min (61.7 km) via Lava Rd.
Kolakham is a small village situated in Neoara Valley national Park. A perfect offbeat destination for Adventure, Hiking & Climbing lovers. Those who loves wild life photography, you can find many exotic birds here. As the place is a little offbeat, finding ATM, Med-Shops will be a little difficult after Lava Market.
You can also visit, Lava Market, Rishop, Tiffindara View Point, Ambiok Tea Garden,Changey Falls, Lava Monestry during your stay at Kolakham, or on the way to Kolakham.
There are some Homestays at kolakham, but we preffered to stay at Wild Orchid Homestay, one can enjoy 360° mountain from the homestay. Also, The Majestic Kanchenjanga can be seen and enjoyed from the window of wooden duplex cottage and its window. with the first sun light of the day. If you like work from hill, this homestay and this place can be an amzing choice.
During your stay at kolakham, Changey Waterfalls is in 40 minute by Trek Route & 15-20 minute by car from the Homestay. You can also have a village walk through the road surrounded with pine woods.
One can visit Kolakham at any time of the year, but September end to october is the best time, because many beautifull snow peaks can be seen during this time.

Absolutely! But not really sure about if it's possible till the attraction changey falls, it totally depends upon a person. However, I have seen many elderly people reaching out there and enjoying the falls at their fullest ❤️

Thank you.. Both the cottage and buildings are really good. But, we really enjoyed staying in wooden cottage, as you can enjoy the sunrise and and the mountain view direct from the window itself. ✌😃
