with the elytra trick, you do not need the elytra for it, it is a glitch in bedrock edition where you can go through blocks if its only your head going through the block! It has nothing to do with the elytra!

Why pushing a shulker into a chest works: You can push a shulker into a transparent block, and chests are counted as transparent block entities.
