You mentioned about the massive amount of people at his concert. Here's a mind blowing fact: Elvis sold every single seat at all of his concerts throughout his whole career!!
This show was seen in over 40 countries and had 1.5 Billion viewers still the most watched concert by one performer. All the money from this concert went to charity for Cancer care/research. Elvis even paid $1,000 for a ticket to donate, which back then was a lot.
It's the first concert broadcast via satellite. I was 8 years old and in Martinez, GA. MASSIVE ELVIS FAN THEN, NOW, AND ALWAYS. I begged mama to let me sit up to watch it (bedtime was 9 pm). I wore her down or she was probably always going to let me watch it, I don't know. But, I remember that she and I were in daddy's recliner, she pulled me into her lap and listened to her tone-deaf daughter belting out her lungs with Elvis. One of the best memories of my childhood.
The Elvis Honolulu concert was the first world wide live satellite concert, and over One Billion people were watching this show live ! You should check out what a generous humanitarian he was. He bought houses for people who were down and out, as well as giving away over 200 new Cadillac's as gifts. When he was drafted into the Army in 1958, he served his 2 years of duty with honor in Germany and never complained. Check out pictures of Elvis in his Tank ! He was a great American, and bigger than life. You do a fantastic job, and I love your Channel. 👍🏻🎸🎼
I introduced Elvis to all three of my children at very early ages, I'm talking toddlers in a car seat. This song was their introduction to Elvis. Each one bee-bopped to this song without provocation. They all love it to this day, and all teenagers. Burning Love's lyrics do burn through to the soul.
It's amazing that he never performed outside of the states, yet he was one of the most popular artist of all time worldwide. A one would need more than just music for that to be the case.
That was the biggest concert the world has ever seen. It was broadcast to 33 different countries. I believe over 3 billion saw this concert. He raised over a hundred thousand dollars for a charity . This was his biggest reason for doing this concert. To give back as he did constantly.. He loved people and wanted to help them... He was not just a singer. He was a humanitarian as well....
@raymondmartini5137 God is King, Elvis was a special talent that he blessed us with for 42 years. Then he had to go back to be with God. While here on earth, he became the greatest singer/entertainer that there ever was. Ever is, or Ever will be. Unless Jesus decides to do some singing on earth. Then he'd be the greatest. Until that happens, then Elvis is the best..
When this concert was performed via satillite and wached by 1.5 billion people world wide. The world population at the time was only nearly 6 billion people..thats nearly 1 3rd of the worlds population.. truely the greatest performer of all time..never to see the likes again...truely a gift from god for the world..RIP you beautiful..humble..generous man. Love forever ❤❤❤❤❤
I saw Elvis (3) time at the Chicago Stadium 1972,1976&1977 and twice at The Las Vegas Hilton in August 1974. Elvis’ look is timeless. His mannerisms, hairstyle would fit in even now. He also was one of the only superstars that during a live concert he would introduce the audience to gospel songs like How Great Thou Art and others. I just recently turned 65… time flys. Thank you for your reviews, you do a marvelous job. Take care!
Hello. That was such an energetic reaction! Believe it or not, there are only 5,000 people or so in that arena. Normally he's in front of 10 to 20,000. The stage set up was huge here. That's why the limited audience. There were no ticket prices. The audience was asked to donate what they could. They were asked to raise $25,000. They raised $75,000. That's over $500,000 today. Elvis and the band bought their own tickets as well. However, like people have said, over a billion people saw this broadcast.
Sweetie, never lose that old soul that you have. And you have no idea how much it means to see someone like you, and as young to love listening to this kind of music.
I was 14 when I watched Aloha from Hawaii. When Elvis walked on stage, I thought he was the coolest human being I have ever seen. And then he opened his mouth to 🎤 I still think he is the coolest human being I have ever seen and the greatest performer of all time. My senses are telling me that he may have one more comeback in him! Get ready! ruclips.net/video/bcas_1Cf_Zk/видео.html
I find your smile during your response so honest and pure beautiful! You can just see that you are enjoying yourself.... Elvis does that to people, his charisma and raw talent is so incredible that we won't live to see that anytime soon, maybe ever.
I started listening to Elvis when I was 5 in 1962. Since that time I was able to go to 4 of his concerts. Two in 1971 and two in 1972. Amazing is not even close to describing watching Elvis live! If I Can Dream is my favorite and Can’t Help Falling In Love from the 1968 comeback special is number 2!
I must say I enjoy your reactions to the King! I was a year old when he passed away! But I remember my mom gave me a single record of burning love and it blew me away! I have been a fan ever since I have everyone of his songs and albums on my iPhone! Aloha from Hawaii reached an audience of 1 billion people a record still held today! I love your old soul!
Love your reactions! Elvis originally didn't want to record Burning Love as he was still feeling down from his wife recently leaving him and wasn't in a "burning love" kind of mood, but he was convinced to sing it anyway, and the song made it to #2 on the billboard charts, becoming his last song to ever reach the Top Ten again. Suggestions for future videos that I would love to see from you: From the '68 Comeback Special--One Night With You, Trying to Get to You, If I Can Dream (white suit) From Las Vegas 1970--Polk Salad Annie, Love Me Tender, You've Lost That Loving Feeling, Just Pretend From Aloha From Hawaii 1973--American Trilogy, My Way, What Now My Love, and Fever. Sorry if that's a lot! I really love Elvis!😂😂😂
Nice Reaction, Hope you don’t mind, I’m gonna fill you in on a very important fact regarding this performance. This was a very unique performance that to my knowledge no single artist has never repeated to this day, If Elvis looks very nervous it’s was with good reason, this was a charity event for a cancer fund, and you say he was probably performing for 100,000 people, No try the whole planet 🌎, this concert was being shown live via satellite to the whole world, so Elvis was playing a strictly straight concert and no gimmick, jump suit was the American Eagle representing America the the world.
Back in 1992 I saw Van Halen play at this arena which is now known as the Blaisdell Center in Honolulu. It was like going to my own personal Mecca. Something that had been in my life since the original broadcast back in 1973. It was smaller than it looks like in this video and basically a round building
@@epluribusmasseyjr Same. I’m 56 and recently went to Graceland for the first time. I was 11 when he died and I still remember where I was and what I was doing when word came out that he died. I don’t remember a lot from my childhood but I remember that like it happened yesterday. We were so lucky to grow up in the era of Elvis.
I watched this broadcast laying on my late sister’s living room floor. She was as big an Elvis fan as I am. There are so many great songs he performed in this concert, that you have to review. Thanks for sharing!
god I remember watching this on TV, was such a huge Elvis fan (still am) My Parents allowed me to stay up late to watch and was glued to the TV for the whole concert!
Elvis donated all the proceeds of this concert to go towards the building of the pearl harbor war memorial. Such a big heart andd extreme generosity. 💓Elvis
Great reaction and the history of this performance is mind blowing. As Reb and Brian pointed out this was beamed around the world. I believe at the time it was the first concert ever beamed by satellite to over a billion people. Check out some of Elvis on Tour footage. It's some of the best out there from his classic opening of See See Rider in the light blue jumpsuit, to his excellent performance of How Great Thou Art. There's so many great performances of his career that are endless. The clip from Elvis on Tour of See See Rider is pure magnetism of his stage presence, a god given voice, and a place in music history that will in my opinion never be matched. To see him in concert was special, I don't put anyone in God like status, but when he came on stage after his intro it did feel like something special just entered the building. Keep up the great work :):)
Shea- Thanks so much for doing Elvis. I am a huge Elvis fan and just so you know anything from his 73 Aloha show is musts listen to. React to his song What Now My Love From 73 Aloha an also Bridge Over Troubled water Live from 72. You will love both of these performances.
That was the first ever concert that was watched over the world with 1.5 billion people watching !! I love listening to you !! I have been a fan since 1956 and was blessed to see him over 16 times in Las Vegas ❤
This was from his concert in Hawaii, shown via satellite, the first one ever, 38 countries tuned in to watch him perform live, and the proceeds went to the March of Dimes charity
love elvis.. i honestly dont think anyone can sing and perform like he did. He was genuinely and still is 'The King'. Do more Elvis videos! I recommend 'What now my love' (same gig) and or 'My way'. What a voice....
This concert was a benefit for a cancer research charity. There was no charge for admission but people were encouraged to contribute to the charity. The show raised over $75,000 from those contributions, which would be over $800,000 in 2023 dollars.
I'm enjoying your Elvis reactions. This man is still loved worldwide. 🇿🇦 Please react to Elvis singing "Trying to get to you" at the '68 Comeback Special. Thank you.
Shea, I saw Elvis in concert twice in 1975. Have you watched "WHAT NOW MY LOVE?? This one will blow you away too. So much feeling & so Real & emotional. Please get it & play it. You will love it !!!!!!!!!!
Hi this concert was a cancer drive benefit it started at 1:00 am this was also the 1st concert to go around the world by satellite ever we was suppose to raise $25,000 but we raised $75,000.
In 1971, I was 10 years old and my family was fortunate to see Elvis in Vegas at the Hilton. Circa this video. I still remember the concert, his amazing voice, and the screams of the women! NO entertainer has the charisma and stage presence of Elvis. His voice was truly second to none, just beautiful. He was The King.
I'm big on keeping all kinds of ways to listen to my music and one of them is 8 track tape and I have a lot of Elvis and a lot of other singers I love playing them all the time. And the sound is like being at a concert. God bless
I think they said one out of every 3 people watched this concert. Also more people watched this concert then then the first walk on the moon. Go Elvis.
My brother was massive fan elvis died when he 11 had 2 album just keep playing he wast the King he was always sad he saw live our see graceland keep listening great artists
Carlie, hello. Love your Elvis reaction videos. You should take a trip to Tupelo Mississippi and visit the Elvis birthplace park. You get to tour his first home, his childhood church, and there's a gorgeous memorial chapel there. Oh, and you have to see the statue called Becoming. It's a statue of him as a little boy sitting in front of a larger than life statue of Elvis as a man in a caped jumpsuit. It's awesome! Just wanted to share this with you.
I know you are just discovering Elvis and you are enjoying the journey, but it would not be completely until you seen his last performance before he passed. It will bring it all home and show you how his finally years was just "Tragic" It breaks my heart but it is a must watch for someone who is just learning who Elvis was. He was just a beautiful Soul!! Elvis Presley - Unchained Melody (Rapid City June 21, 1977)
I watched this concert on TV when it aired. It was an amazing concert. Elvis toned it down for the TV Audience! If you get a chance react to his Las Vegas Concert!
I saw Elvis live in the early 70's. When I moved to LA from NY I met a guy and we became friends because we both liked to ride motorcycles. Turns out his girlfriend's dad was a Vice President of Arco. Arco owned the Forum in LA where the Lakers played and therefore he had a corporate box for all events there. The Forum was also the place where every rock and roll group always started and ended their world tours. Her dad went to all the sports events but wasn't into music so one day Mike told me his girlfriend had tickets for Elvis if we were interested. I grew up listening to Elvis starting in the late 50's and he was one of my musical idols so I jumped at the chance to get free tickets to see The KIng. The funny thing about the whole deal is that during the sixties Elvis didn't perform live and after his comeback in '67 when he did perform getting tickets for one of his shows was like getting an audience with the Pope so to have free tickets just land in my lap was really cool. To move cross country, meet and become friends with a random person whose girlfriend's dad had box seats for a concert that he didn't want to go to and to have them offered to me so I could see one of my childhood idols live is such a bizarre sequence of events that to this day I still look back on the whole thing as pretty remarkable. It's amazing that even at that point in his career he was still driving all the women crazy!
Elvis did shows in Hawaii, just 2 months earlier. November 17 & 18, 1972, at the same arena. They were the final shows of a tour that ended up in Southern California, then Hawaii to close up. There's videos on youtube of the shows that were taken by fans.
I have a Christmas tree ornament of Elvis in this white suit... one of my favorite ornaments. I always put it in a spot on the tree where I can see it from my chair lol.
I do believe that this concert was transmitted around the world and i also believe it was the very 1st ever done at the time, it was beamed around the world for all around the world to see "The King of rock and roll" in concert.
You should check out Elvis’ favorite singer and close friend Tom Jones also. Power voice and also a ladies man. I recommend his songs “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again”, “Delilah”, and & “Treat Her Right.”
He played to audience's from 5,000 to 100,000. He shattered attendance records everywhere he went. This was 1 billion + because it was seen worldwide. Not sure what the attendance was here at this stadium, very well ,could have been 50,000. At the Houston Astrodome he set attendance records at 45,000. At the Silverdome in, is it Pontiac or Detroit Michigan, any way he set attendance records at 65,000. He played in the brightest lights, on the biggest stages.
there was over 70,000 in the stadium and he announced it early in the show and millions watching on tv live like I did. and you should hear the tribute song for him after he died (the king is gone) by Ronnie McDowell and he even sounds like Elvis.
Little correction: The attendance in the hall at this benefit concert was 6.000. So the people could pay what ever they want. The audience raised 75.000 dollars. That´s what Elvis said.
This concert was shown via satellite around the world. 1.5 billion people watched it. At the time, that was a quarter of the world's population. I watched it live when it was on. Imagine that, a quarter of the Earth's population stopping what they were doing to watch one man sing. Just one more reason he was the king.
Hello from Luxembourg Please react this songs from Elvis THAT‘S SOMEONE YOU NEVER FORGET ANGEL FIRST IN LINE SYLVIA WHAT NOW MY LOVE STAY AWAY Have a nice day René
This concert was shown world wide to over billion and a half people. He was the first entertainer to do a world wide concert.
Its impossible not to fall in love with this man. There will never be another Elvis, he had everything. Thank you
You mentioned about the massive amount of people at his concert. Here's a mind blowing fact: Elvis sold every single seat at all of his concerts throughout his whole career!!
The bass player makes this the great song that it is. Elvis from Hawaii was on television and seen by a billion or so people.
Really? The bass player makes this song? Elvis is the one who makes every song
This show was seen in over 40 countries and had 1.5 Billion viewers still the most watched concert by one performer.
All the money from this concert went to charity for Cancer care/research. Elvis even paid $1,000 for a ticket to donate, which back then was a lot.
Well before cable or satellite or the internet too.
Noteworthy: The 1.5B audience number is still debatable to this day, but whatever the number, it is still unprecedented.
And reached number 1 on cashbox.
1.5 billion people??? Not possible at all with the technology from 1973. Think about it and don't spread half-knowledge.
The Elvis Honolulu concert was the first world wide live satellite concert, and over One Billion people were watching this show live ! You should check out what a generous humanitarian he was. Thinking the same thing. What if the human had performed internationally? That is crazy to imagine.
More people watched Elvis than even watched the first moon landing! Just fantastic! Thanks Shea!

10,000 people at that concert. Elvis knew exactly who he was and how to play the audience. He always had them in the palm of his hand.

I can understand why younger people love Elvis..... he was decades before his time. And from his prime till now Elvis is the greatest.
Hello. That was such an energetic reaction!

I saw him live in 1970, and just incredible performance.l
RIP Elvis, we will love you forever.

This one, and "Promised Land" were two of Elvis' Hard Rock songs. Promised Land is one of my favourites.
His version of Promised Land is my favorite song ever.

Sorry if that's a lot! I really love Elvis!😂😂😂
Lets not forget the tune reached #1 on Cash Box which was in competition with Billboard at the time.
I heard somewhere that he was having trouble on this particular tune with the high parts that are at the end of the tune.

Burnin' Love was huge when I was a Senior in High School. His last big hit and he made it a great one. Before Elvis, there was no Rock 'n' Roll.
every show ELVIS had solid out with in 1 to 1. 5 hours no matter were he went ! people around the world came to see him ! no other ever done this !

Elvis Presley - Unchained Melody (Rapid City June 21, 1977)
You being new to seeing Elvis perform live, I'm sure the others will agree with me, you need to react to Love Me Tender Live in 1970
This was the very first album I bought. I thought I was so great to buy a double album. I needed to save up for it so I think I was 11 when I got.
Elvis. ❤️
Nobody does it better than this.👑
I watched this concert on TV when it aired. It was an amazing concert. Elvis toned it down for the TV Audience! If you get a chance react to his Las Vegas Concert!
Over a billion watching! It was a satellite concert!
I'm a big Elvis fan in love for years and everybody scissor reaction of everyone seeing him live for the 1st time check out Vegas 73 love tender
The king for Reason. The whole concert is Great. Request What Now My Love same concert. THANKS
Elvis did shows in Hawaii, just 2 months earlier. November 17 & 18, 1972, at the same arena. They were the final shows of a tour that ended up in Southern California, then Hawaii to close up. There's videos on youtube of the shows that were taken by fans.
Elvis es de otro planeta 😘🔥 burning burning burning.
Great reaction video! Love it!!
Of course it was amazing it's Elvis thank 😊
I just LOVE your reaction!!
Watched it on TV with the family!!
I'm still mad at my mom cos she got see him in Chicago in 73
He played to audience's from 5,000 to 100,000.
This was the first ever live concert by any artists simulcast via satellite all over the world.
Burning love wow thanks Carlie
oh thank you thatwas great!!! I think u would love “Trying to get to you” from the 68 comeback special by Elvis. Trust me!!!
any idea how she knows the words & is moving in time w-the music if it's a first reaction
You must listen to My Way and American Trilogy here in Honolulu. This concert was seen in over 40 countries 1.5 billion watching live.
You gotta see him sing can't stop loving you video.. he is 🔥
there was over 70,000 in the stadium and he announced it early in the show and millions watching on tv live like I did. and you should hear the tribute song for him after he died (the king is gone) by Ronnie McDowell and he even sounds like Elvis.
Little correction: The attendance in the hall at this benefit concert was 6.000. So the people could pay what ever they want. The audience raised 75.000 dollars. That´s what Elvis said.
i love this song
This concert was shown via satellite around the world. 1.5 billion people watched it. At the time, that was a quarter of the world's population. I watched it live when it was on. Imagine that, a quarter of the Earth's population stopping what they were doing to watch one man sing. Just one more reason he was the king.
There's a reason he was the king. 😉
🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠 forever rock and roll forever Elvis..✌️
Hermoso 💚 todo su ser
Ella me encanta,se me imagina yo, cuando moría por El. Todavia muero por Él.
