In my college political science 101 class, I won't even say how many decades ago that was, the Prof went into great detail as to why no US President tried regime change in Iran (since 1953 of course). Number one was their ability to shut down oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz and the adverse effect that would have on almost every aspect of the global economy. There were other points, like the size of Iran's (modern) army and their historic reluctance to compromise, but to suggest that in Hormuz "Nobody saw this coming" is one of the craziest, most dishonest things Trump has ever said - and the bar is sky-high on that one.

Are you really asking that? You have seen that our checks and balances are not operating because there has been we’re realizing now a steady March towards filling the courts and Congress with proponents of basically the heritage foundation in 2025 and Trump is just part of that deal. It’s in their mind still in their best interest. And they’re stuck because either they get rejected by him or possibly rejected by their voters so probably some of them are betting on and hoping he will be able to crush the voting in the midterms. They’re not even going to oppose that very likely.

What was the partnership you thought you had? The vast majority of oil your country received has been held hostage by the ayatollahs for as long as anyone can remember. Then they decided to enrich uranium to 60%, i.e. beyond any civilian application and dangerously close to military grade. If now is not the right time to remove the ayatollahs' ability to strangle your country, then when? And who should be doing it?

@Camikio You talk about smugness and joke around, because what’s happening does not affect you. The AfD is mostly strong, because of the destabilisation of the Middle-East, which the USA has caused. Afghanistan, Iraq, Gaza, Lebanon, Iran, there will be another flood of migrants that our regular politicians will be blamed for, but it will have been the US, that is actually to blame. Sometimes I wonder if the US indirectly weaponises migration, against Europe.
(Yes, Germany participated in Afghanistan, because of Article5)

@ReforumationPreperation LOL! No. They have always been a right-wing, extremist institution that has control over what content our entertainment can & can't include in their movies & they watch what is going on with Hollywood like a hawk. The president & other high-ranking people in the FCC are always family members of far-right politicians & even if they aren't, they still have the same agenda. Do you know that mainstream film makers cannot make a movie that portrays the U.S. govt or the U.S. military in any negative way? Men in black show up on Hollywood sets all the time to tell the director & the producers that they must re-write or omit part of the movie for that reason but, it's not the only possible reasons that they would do this. People often think that major problems are new developments simply because they hadn't noticed it before. This isn't new. Nothing about them is ever new. They aren't even conservative, which implies "slow to accept change". They don't change. Their class war, corruption, willful ignorance, their homicidal & genocidal greed, their over-bearing hypocrisy, their dishonesty, their false sense of morality, their racism, misogyny, homophobia & general bigotry, their ability to dehumanize everyone who isn't an exact replica of their fkd up selves...their vile fascism. They have never changed. They already had their claws in the FCC. Most likely from its inception. They love to feed the populace with their propaganda so, of course, the FCC is something that they want control of.

    Side Note: Elections 🗳️
The New Mexico Governor passed a LAW that no armed ICE agents can be present at VOTING polling centers. Every STATE needs to do this ASAP!! In March 2026, New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham signed Senate Bill 264, making New Mexico the first state to EXPLICITLY prohibit armed federal agents, including ICE officers, from appearing at polling places.
While FEDERAL law (specifically 18 U.S.C. § 592) already prohibits deploying "troops or armed men" to polling sites, the New Mexico law was passed to address SPECIFIC modern concerns and provide local enforcement mechanisms.

Oh no... a Law? What could Trump do? It's not like he is breaking the law anywhere else? Maybe just impeach and remove him for all the laws he already broke as president. You know... Congress's constitutional power to remove the president for doing exactly the sort of things he is currently doing?
The lawmakers already have the power to remove him. They are complicit.

When really all the rich needed to do was split Americans and the west into 2 warring tribes.

America never reads other news, other perspectives on things. The Iranians are now aiming at Microsoft, Invidia and other tech and investment companies Jarod Kushner and trump are in. So yeah , most countries are cool with that

if you think Iran has the "upper hand", you probably belong in a mental institution.
If Iran has the "upper hand" then we already belong to china it can just walk in and conquer us instantly without resistance.

the "upper hand" of terrorist attacks against civilians in unrelated and uninvolved countries?
We should allow those types of people to acquire nukes right?

In Australia, not only is inflation going up alongside fuel, and all goods, but interest rates will also rise. People are already struggling to pay rent or mortgages. Many people are homeless as they have been priced out of the market. FDT! 🤬

@H@Home-v2c7uWhat a ridiculous comment. People are becoming homeless due to inflation and price increases.
Yes, I’m sure things are worse in Gaza, just like they would be in Ukraine or Iran.
But, the actions of the USA are having far reaching consequences to people not actively involved in war. And for what? To appease the ego of a megalomaniac?
None of this should be happening, and it didn’t need to happen.

Iranian here, I’m crying and laughing at the same time.
The reality on the ground in Iran is that US and Israel are bombing residential property and oil depots that has led to acid rain . This is poisoning people, water, and air for years to come. This is the definition of chemical warfare. This is where your tax money is going to.
