she is deaf but she had good speech therapy when she was younger so she talks the same as a hearing person. she just puts on the accent for the programme

In the show, I can't recall which season, there was a character that was experiencing hearing loss and he was very upset over it and you find out he has a disease where he can loose his hearing and that is what Katie Leclerc has in real life.
