- The AEW Drama Is Getting Worse… What's been going on with AEW lately? Things are wild over there.
First, there was the CM Punk and Hangman Adam Page drama last wek. Then, it was reported that CM Punk was unhappy with Colt Cabana staying with the company. So much so that he wanted him gone after his contract expired. That didn’t happen. Tony Khan re-signed Cabana to be apart of the Ring of Honor reboot that hasn’t really happened. And then last night’s finish to the CM Punk and Jon Moxley match happened. These bizarre events keep happening for AEW and they aren’t stopping. More news and reports have come since. I’m afraid that everything that transpired last night is just the beginning. It seems to be getting worse as time passes. A story recently broke out about Eddie Kingston getting suspended because tried to legitimately punch Sammy Guvera in the face after some comments about his weight. This is the reason Kingston hasn’t been seen on TV since and their match at All Out has been canceled. Fightful Select was able to provide an update on the situation since then giving us more details about the altercation. Fightful was told that Kingston was mad because Guevara hadn’t spoken with him or cleared the content for a promo that ended up being edited off of a show. The two didn’t speak with each other since the Blood and Guts show, where Kingston threw Sammy off of the top of the cage. Kingston actually asked to work with Sammy, who didn’t have a lot of people asking to work with him, after his awful program with Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky. The original plan was for Kingston to win the All Out match. In the edited promo, Sammy referred to Kingston as a ‘fat piece of s**t’, which Kingston felt it buried the match if a ‘fat piece of s**t’ beat him. Eddie Kingston then allegedly yelled at Guevara, who smiled at him. Kingston responded by pie facing Guevara. Sammy ended up being incredibly unhappy with this and Kingston was suspended for two weeks. From the report, this just seems to give you a better idea of why Sammy is not an AEW pillar. The dude was a problem ever since that Sasha Banks report came out about that disgusting comment. The entire storyline with Tay Conti just made him even more unlikeable. And now you’ve got him beefing with Eddie Kingston literally complaining to have him suspended. Where is the professionalism? I think it’s time to give up on Sammy Guevera. Either that, or Sammy Guevera picks up his act. You’ve got a ton of guys that do pretty much the same things he can do. It wouldn’t be a massive loss. Sometimes, you gotta get rid of some talent that drags down the backstage locker room morale. The company’s culture needs to be taken seriously. Sammy’s becoming more impossible to deal with overtime. There needs to be some law and order. To make matters worse, AEW just lost their Women’s World Champion to an injury. Thunder Rosa is going to take some time off to heal from a disc issue she’s been dealing with for some time now. Not only that, but she’s also got some heat with a couple ladies. Fightful has reportedly confirmed that there is backstage animosity between Rosa and Britt Baker, as well as between Rosa and Jamie Hayter. The report suggested that neither women can stand Rosa but that everyone is trying to remain professional backstage. Like I’ve been saying, why is everyone beefing with everyone? It really shows a lack of discipline and company culture. When people are going around acting this wild, it’s not a good reflection of the company and the boss. It seems like Tony Khan really has a lot of problems he’s been struggling with recently. It doesn’t help that some members of his roster are showing signs of frustration. Andrade is one of those names. He’s been liking tweets of people saying that he deserves better and AEW isn’t booking him as well as they should. A rumor came out even saying that he wants to come back to WWE with Triple H in charge and his wife working there. Dave Meltzer just broke a report saying that WWE has been contacting a number of talent from AEW trying to bring them back to the company. This is not making Tony Khan happy at all. In fact, he’s beyond frustrated. Tony Khan stated that right before the AEW meeting that took place yesterday, AEW's Chief Legal Officer, sent an email to Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon warning them "not to tamper" with his talent. This just makes things even more spicy as a fan watching it all go down. The drama in AEW is getting intense. Let me know your thoughts on it in the comments below. I know right. I feel like one of the reasons is that the roster too bloated. As much as I hate to say it, they should release stars like WWE did before. If they say as the way it is, then the company will be know like TNA with just a lot of ex-WWE superstar. I don't think that something Tony Khan wants when he wants his company to have it own identity.

1) AEW keep on mentioning WWE every week.
2) giving to much importance to ex-wwe superstars.
3) trying to many things in such a short period.

The funny thing is that the fans (not all) used to went wrestlers from WWE to go to AEW but now it's reverse since Triple H is now in control. Also I think AEW should start be more professional since literacy every episode they always take shots at WWE. It was cool at first but now it's starting to get really annoying. I can definitely see why Cody Rhodes left which was probably the smartest decision he’s done.
Yup AEW was supposed to be more like WCW and carter to everyday kids, young adults, and adults who just want to have fun, drink a beer, throw trash in the ring, and boo their favorite heels. AEW totally nailed it at first but somewhere at the beginning of covid or just right before it turned into a show for wrestling nerds vs people just wanting to drink a beer, party, and watch something fun. I guess when Cody realized that AEW would carter to more to the nerdy men crowd vs just regular everyday people he lost interest in the project. Look at 0:25 just a bunch of nerdy men with beards and literally 1 girl. If you look at the WCW crowds before it started to suck and peak WWF crowds it was literally boys & girls, men & women, young and old.
I don’t know if was cool at first. I mean Cody himself took part in it with the throne and his promos but yeah. It is annoying and just overdone now that everyone expects it as a regular thing from AEW.

Recycled promos and angles, same flippy moves everyone has seen already, useless shots at WWE, no actual character besides MJF worth watching, etc. Smarks are the last people promoters should listen to. They keep callin themselves "sports entertainers" instead of wrestlers, even though Vince has been gone for a month, and actual wwe wrestlers have already called THEMSELVES wrestlers. So aew's storyline makes zero sense now.
I Agree Aew is Relying on Ex WWE and don't get me wrong it's fantastic talent but u don't wanna build ur whole company around ex WWE Guys and They need 2 step up their game and take stuff seriously and stop trynna make everything over scripted and way to much storytelling

Thank you for this man!! I am getting annoyed by most of the fans calling out wwe when it's bad but when AEW is doing worst, they say "exciting times in wrestling". The locker room issue is a sign of lack of chemistry between the talents, alot of egos in 1 room/play. This is where we can see how good WWE is on handling this kinds of stuff. Sure WWE isn't perfect but they are doing their best for the benefit of the talents and the audience.
AEW's massive signing before has backfired now, they didn't realize that signing massive talents and not booking them properly will surely backfire. Take Andrade and Miro for example, when vince was incharge, they were shit, went to AEW and were hot for like 3 months and the fire suddenly fizzled.
This company will collapse if they don’t get an actual BOOKER for this show, they just BURIED their top guy on free television absolutely destroyed CM Punk, what kind of crappy hotshot booking is that

1) AEW has been a company who always believes in silently copying WWE instead of its own innovation.
2) AEW always believed that if they can bring readymade talents with star power to their company then it would help them grow, with this concept they brought mostly the WWE built superstars who already has a fanbase and popularity to their own company and gave them the limelight instead of focusing majorly to building their own stars.
3) AEW has always been comparing itself with WWE and taking shots instead of just learning the positive aspects from WWE or other promotions.
That's not how a company grows in the long run. You may criticize Vince McMahon but the things Vince has done since the inception of WWF is what made WWE the company it is today. WWE has established itself globally and all thanks to Vince McMahon.
Great way got tackle the issues with AEW. No problem signing the best damn talent but how about using the talent you already have? Like seriously getting tired of watching new people who aren’t signed get opportunities before people who are signed.

He's always been an egotist who isn't happy unless concessions are being made to suit him and I guarantee shit will come out eventually of him causing bad blood behind the scenes. There's a reason why a lot of the WWE locker room couldn't stand him, don't respect him and mocked his attempts to claim the position of lockerroom leader. There's a reason why WWE didn't pick up the bait he was throwing out by working with Fox or take up Fox's suggestion to resign him.
The guy is a hypocrite who hasn't got a promo leg to stand on unless he's taking potshots at the company that he was mad at for allowing the same thing Khan is allowing when he brought back Punk and centered him at the expense of AEW homegrown talent.
Tony enabling Punk's delusion that he's anything close to being the best in the world, despite him coming into AEW as a washed up flop who screwed his own credibility, cost the company Cody and since then, it's been a slide into the gutter.
Imagine thinking that a UFC mat stain was more valuable or worth more money than Cody Rhodes who literally helped build that company from the ground up.

Biggest problem is that AEW's roster is too bloated and they don't have enough TV time for everyone. For goodness sake they keep bringing in new talent when they don't have a fully fleshed out women's division because they can't get enough time to showcase themselves. It doesn't help that WWE's women's division is still doing well, even when Vince was in charge and it's only going to get better.
Not only that, but Tony is prioritising the treatment of ex-WWE wrestlers and 'established' names such as Keith Lee, Samoa Joe, Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson, CM Punk, Claudio, the Hardy Boys etc, instead of working with what they have such as their homegrown talent (MJF, Jungle Boy, Wardlow, Hangman, Jade Cargill, Britt Baker, Darby Allin, Ethan Page) or even the talent that they acquired from Ring of Honor.
The dude Tony has so much of a hard on for WWE guys that he slapped two of ROH's top belts on WWE guys (Claudio and Samoa Joe) weeks after they had just joined the company. It's part of the reason why Hangman had such an underwhelming tenure as the top champ. Because they are prioritising other 'bigger' talent whilst making others feel less than.
When fans complain about Hangman's title run being boring and complain about part-timers in WWE coming in challenging for titles instead of making new stars, but cheer when you have a 40 year old Bryan Danielson challenging for the title and a 43 year old CM Punk coming in and threatening to walk out if they don't win the title, it's a bad look for everyone involved with AEW including the fans, Tony Khan and all the wrestlers involved.

Nuts to think & month ago AEW felt like the better environment & WWE felt like a hostile environment now things are the opposite way. WWE have built a lot of good will bringing back fan favourite talent like Io Shirai Dakota Kai Johnny Gargano & Karrion Kross & they are putting on a great product. While AEW has a fun product the backstage drama between Punk & Page has divided the locker room. Now we are hearing about the Eddie & Sammy drama as well as the Baker Rosa & Jamie drama. It's like once HHH took over WWE the sleeping giant woke up. We saw a lot of top WWE guys jump to AEW I think over the next few years a lot of those WWE guys will return & homegrown talent from AEW like MJF will go to WWE. If I'm Tony Khan I'm worried Vince being in power helped AEW get those names & now many are looking to come back

I'm not going to lie Sammy not clearing the promo with Eddie and talking about his weight is definitely messed up. Eddie being upset is a very valid thing but for him to smack Sammy because of it is unprofessional as hell. You don't assault someone because you're upset. The way your trying to rationalize it and make it seem like Sammy shouldn't have complained is weird to me. Should he have just sat there and taken the slap and said nothing? There's no way you think Sammy was more unprofessional then Eddie in this situation. Now his other comments about Sasha I'm not here to defend. But Eddie DEFINITELY deserved that suspension no matter how anyone personally feels.
I doubt they'll get it together, by 2024 WWE will probably buy em and get TNA's and ROH's tape libraries with it.

I actually find this whole situation really funny because lots of people were talking how bad they were getting treated in WWE and saying that they will get treated better in AEW. 😂
It isn't a perfect world and not every talented wrestler will get treated well.
AEW needs brands now because they have too many people in their roster. They also need like a creative team and have someone like Regal book the shows.

To be fair, Eddie’s main complaint seemed to be that the line would just make everyone look bad, which is a sentiment most wrestlers agree with. It seems like he only hit him when Sammy wouldn’t listen which is still crossing the line but still. A similar thing happened with Chris Jericho in WCW, which Chris Jericho himself was a good thing because he needed to learn. Planna’s take on Guevara was still way too harsh though
@@name3236 I can see that argument. But still, we know Eddie Kingston is fat with or without Sammy telling us. We also know he usually puts on great matches, so I don't see how him being fat would make fans not want to tune in.
It's not just because Eddie got offended and became unprofessional. The blowoff for the feud was supposed to result in Eddie winning the feud according to several reports. So Sammy calling him a fat piece of shit and Eddie responding to it is gonna make both of them look bad.
Also, Sammy being unlikeable on TV is totally different to him being unlikeable backstage, cause if he's unlikeable backstage then it's unlikely anyone's going to push to work with him. Sammy being unlikeable on TV has to with the fans not liking him in general cause we already know that fans will boo or cheer anyone face or heel. In Sammy's case, he's being booed for the wrong reason. When he was a face, people wanted him off TV. When he's a heel, people wamt him off TV.

So he could take day to day updates from the commissioner/ head of roster..that could make the backstage n' overall environment more better..

the issue is theres WAY too many egos butting heads. there have been some people sayinf they should bring in a wrestlers court like system, but how many times was that used as an excuse for hazing? really, management needs to step up and do something
As someone who is not in the best of shape himself, I can relate to that so good for Eddie.
Sammy come off like a great heel with legitimate heat, especially with this recent news coming out.

it seems my concerns with the product are starting to manifest. tony khan needs to make some massive changes in order to stay afloat because if not, things are just going to get worse and worse and AEW will end up being a huge wrestling “what if” in 5 years time.

Your take on Guevara is overly harsh. The Sasha Banks stuff wad bad, but your other complaints were just that Tony Kahn miscast him as a face and that he forgot to clear a promo with Eddie Kingston. Also it doesn’t seem like Tony is taking it seriously, he just sent a message to WWE to tell them to stop contract tampering. Also Andrade should be TNT champion.

I've never really liked Sammy G and his most recent actions have made him even worse. His relationship with Tay screams "Look at me! Look at me!" It's just corny showboating,. He has talent in-ring but doesn't seem like a true potential star. For example, he's so bad on the mic that they made him the Picture-in-Picture Sign Guy, holding up signs to challenge others instead of doing a promo.. He really hasn't even progressed since.
