Making a D.I.Y. Louis Vuitton Wallet
For our special 10,000 Subscriber episode, we took apart a vintage Louis Vuitton hand bag to make a wallet! We used natural vegetable tanned leather on the inside, and made our own template for the interior that is reminiscent of the Louis Vuitton Billfold layout.
This wallet is cut and sewn by hand. We used Italian Red edge paint by Vernis for the Louis Vuitton style touch.

I LOVE not having to listen to obnoxious music while trying to learn something, especially if the instructor is speaking and the music is drowning him out! It would be awesome to have verbal instruction as well, but I can figure out most of what's going on. For you music lovers, you can always choose your own music to play while watching.

@@alexklatte9264 if the build of a genuine LV wallet is anything like the Gucci wallet that he took apart, I'd rather have one that was made with quality materials. He broke it down and it comes down to paying for labor vs paying for material cost.

Things like this always looks so easy. The back of my mind is like "Pffft I could do that", but I know if I tried it'd be a complete mess ^_^ When someone makes something look so easy, you know they good at it.

This level of effortlessness comes from lots of time spent with focused effort. It looks easy because it is easy, you just gotta put in the hours of work beforehand to get to the point where it is this easy.
I'm going to try this on my wife's Louis Vuitton purse that she only uses once in awhile!

Ioana Surdu Bob you obviously don’t know anything about antique bags or Louis Vuitton? They don’t depreciate no matter how worn.
Delbert Perkins i do enough to know that antique is not the same as used. On the resale market this won’t be sold more than a third its resale value, which is max 500 eur for that model. Maybe the bag was bought 20 years ago when it actually cost less than 500 eur, but if you add up the inflation, you still sell if for less. If you take care of it, sure, you can have profit, but if you wanna buy luxe you don’t buy a bag in that condition, since you can buy a new bag from a contemporary designer for the same price :)

The bag is mass produced shite ...The wallet on the other hand is priceless, hand made and one of a kind.
It's called repurposing... Old, used bag with little to no use left. Turned into a beautiful new wallet to use for many more years... Great video!

I am vegan and i have absolutely nothing about reusing or recycling leather rather than use new skin .
I disliked the video because i don't see the point of taking a perfectly fine vintage LV bag which costs a small fortune and turn it into something that has no value whatsoever . My dislike was purely mercantile .
Brilliant, not a huge fan of designer labels but 10/10 on the upcycling leather and giving it a new life.

well it is kinda both, they have big machine to cut the shape of the bag and punch holes, and the assembling and sewing is handmade....
