I'm 60 this year and I feel like I'm back in the 80's listening and watching this - surely the best decade ever for music and individual style . I never knew what we had back then ,now gone like tears in the rain - but always remembered.

I loved this, I was a goth in the 80's but we sure didn't have smart phones back then! Dunno when or where this was recorded but it did capture the vibe of my youth. Glad to see it is still going strong!

As I remembered it, Goth/industrial clubs were less gay, at least on San Francisco. They had their own clubs and usually didn't want to hangout with a bunch of straight suburban kids from Marin and San Jose. I mean obviously there were gay peeps that came and went, but SF was filled with gay clubs back then

Brings back fond memories of my youth while in Japan and West Germany back in the 80’s and 90’s
This is why I love the goth scene and have been accepted in it. Because they don't care how you dress or present yourself! Your just one of them. Don't matter if you're nicely dressed or in your rag clothes if you're there to enjoy the music and scene you are happily grooving with them!
Be thankful, didnt used to be that way. Back when it was one of the most cliquish scenes you could be a part of. But with an aging set of dark and spookies and a minimal influx of new dark spawn, the scene is much more accepting. Generally a good thing, but the fashion does suffer for it.
@@thecocktailian2091 the fashion isn't that important though, it's just a way of people to express themselves. What truly matters in the subculture is the music; if you like (or are passionate) to the music, its lyrics, etc., then you can start considering yourself goth

No, no, the ones with neon and goggles dance like it's calisthenics and martial arts kata, the ones with the droopy sleeves and long hair dance like they're stuck in cobwebs and the ones in the ridiculous high heels wiggle about with attempted sexiness to mask that they can't actually move about in those shoes, half of them just shuffle vaguely like someone's drunk uncle at a wedding around the edges of the dance-floor, and then there's always one who thinks they're either Torville or Dean and has to make a fancy show in the middle of the dance floor.
Yeah, I know they're figure skaters, but that floor gets pretty slick with all the spilled snakebite and black :P
Then some metalheads turn up and try to mosh to Joy Division. :P

I love everything about this video - the music, of course, but the people, the vibe and most of all, THE 80'S! I was about these people's age back then, and this so reminds me to the New Wave club scene. Every generation feels that their's was the best, but there's just something about the 80's that makes that decade stand out. What an incredible decade it was and I feel so fotunate to come of age during that time. I heard it said before - "The 80's. The decade that should have died'. Yet here I see young people living it today and bring it back for all to enjoy
