I realize 50 minutes is a long time (two full episodes even), so some of you may not want to watch it all in one sitting. It was good. I watched it all in one sitting. Violet Evergarden was not a perfect work, but it was certainly something unique, something special, something amazing.
Your video is great and love it. Sadly your video is far more interesting and entertaining than the boring and exagerated violet crap garden series. I dont undestand what is there to love and yessss i saw the entire anime and special episode. And is boring as hell nontheless great job i love your video.
A well deserved one imo...Incredible works like this are leagues beyond what's possible, anywhere else in the world. Just in my own personal opinion, not even Disney, pixar, or any other big western animation company can capture the sheer passion, skill, care, feeling, maturity, amazing art style and overall quality of the anime industry as a whole - let alone the studio's that are at the cutting edge of quality like Kyoto Animation.
Garlic Avenger I mean, Disney and Pixar have made some very sad movies. Up, The Lion King, The Fox and the Hound and Toy Story 3 were sad, especially Up. Toy Story 3’s ending was sad as hell. But I agree, anime is much more consistent in its approach and execution, in essentially every aspect.
Violet Evergarden will always hold a very special and big place in my heart. No anime has ever touched me so deeply and made me cry so many tears. Tears of joy, despair and empathy. I got so emotionally attached to Violet and her pain, the search of understanding and accepting her feelings and things that can't be undone. Violet Evergarden is a true masterpiece and I'm so endlessly greatful it exists.
@blue After loss, revenge is to do your best to continue and change the world little by little. After a few great doors close many new ones open. It might not be as good as before but that's where learning comes and they improve through trying.
Almost everyone in this world loves your country! I, for one, really love your country! I love it as much as I love everything important to me. I hope that one day, despite being a foreigner, I could also make mangas that could entertain all of you as well.
Ah if you only knew, in Latinamerica they are a lot of anime fans, due to the fact that Mexico and other Latinamerican countries imported anime shows in the 80s but mainly in the late 90s early 2000s. Hell my mother who was born in 77' grew up with Heidi and I did too in the late 90s early 2000s. At the age of 3-5 years old I was watching Doraemon, Ranma 1/2, Dragon ball z, Sakura card captor, Pokemon, Hamtaro, Sailor Moon and may more, and my love for Japanese animation has remained ever since :).
I'm an Indian Kids in my country have been watching animè unknowingly since we're 4-5yrs Doraemon, Shinchan, Kiteretsu, Pokemon, Ninja Hattori and many more. We are like attached to it since the beginning...... Now when we are all 16-17, we still watch animè but now it's evolved, we watch Naruto ❤️ Naruto SHIPPUDEN ❤️❤️❤️❤️,HxH, assassination classroom,db etc. Now. It's a part of our lives now,it affects us greatly. ❤️👍
@@Exel3nce And what about the whole growth of a character that has not even any touch of emotion, not even considering the well portrayed horrible after effects the war has on the population and the different ways people find to get over it and somehow live on? I think the story delivered all this psychological healing very well.
a human being that has no emotions is already a dumb concept, especially if she showed some when gilbert died. i would understand it if she was an andorid but even then it would be pretty generic. the after effects of the war? that was never even a big focus in the show
@@Exel3nce What, did you even watched the series? Now, i'm nowhere near an expert but even i know that you can suffer immense emotional shocks wich can in fact effect emotion but that is not even the case in this anime. She does not show any emotions at the start, she is more like a soldier without orders, waiting loyal for her commander to lead the way (since she does not know anything out of her military life). The last order of her superior was something in the lines of " go and live your live in happyness, by the way i love you", wich stuck with her. Not only has she no idea what those lines should mean because something like happyness never really existed but she also has to figure out how to execute the order. She basically has to learn over th whole serious that she pretty much lost the most precious thing in live, what exactly is weak on that story? It pretty much hits the feels as soon as you get that she has pretty much autistic characteristics with her fast learning, logical thinking but absolute lack of emotion.
sry but thats just an anime thing. a character that lacks any emotions or the basics of a human. sure, she was a soldier right form the get go but cmon, the death of gil would not make her to a fcking monotone robot.
I love how you clarify that just because netflix threw some money on the series didn't change the animation style or quality. Netflix just brought the rights and many people think that because of netflix violet evergarden is what it is today.
Paulo Azuela I love that Netflix has such a strong anime catalogue. I love that they put money in to support anime production and make it available to many to enjoy.
@@ladymuck2 theyre a streaming company of course they will acquire good anime to add on their catalog, ALSO they categorize non anime as anime, they make some anime look like they produced it, like violet evergarden and they dont know how to make a real anime. stop patronizing them
I never try, but at some screans i almost cried and at the end i shed a tear. This anime is a piece of art and it deservs even more love than what it currently gets.
I tried to find something to make myself cried(i know is weird) many times for a real long time. And finally on violet ep10 i cried like a baby the story is beautiful
their 2020 Violet Evergarden movie with Kobayashi Dragon Maid season 2 are absolute bangers! KyoAni even after that horrible incident still manages to create those two.
I’m a little late here, but I watched Violet Evergarden *years* ago. Every time I tried to show my friends the absolute MASTERPIECE that it is, they always ended up on their phones because it wasn’t the usual ‘comedic and bright and happy’ animation they’d normally liked and seen. I need to sit some of them down, throw their phones in a bucket, and make them watch this incredible show again. But REALLY watch it this time. Violet Evergarden had made me cry so many times. It’s beautiful.
Violet Evergarden is something I suggest to everyone I talk to, even non-anime fans. Ive had mostly positive reactions. A friend of mine that is an anime fan said he and his wife watched it, ate dinner, then rewatched it. He came back the next day gushing about it. And Ive had people 'not get it' and gripe about Charlotte's age for 10 mins. But mostly anyone that actually watches it falls in love.
There is a video on RUclips call "A veterans reaction to violet evergarden" where a veteran who's been deployed to Afghanistan shares how much he can relate to Violet Evergarden. If you want to understand what our veteran goes through after war in an exaggerated manner, but sometimes on point, then this anime is for you. You have to be someone who understands soliders or been to bootcamp and have routines drilled into you billion of time or been in war, or have kill other human before, to really understand the first few episodes or the anime as a whole. Our soldiers are hard trained get rid of their emotion and operate purely on logic in battle. This anime shows Violet learning to let go of her military mindset (purely logical/robot like/being a cog or tool/being a unit) and back into a normal human being (emotional/individual) just like how our solider would do so after coming back home from deployment. This is probably why many people drop this masterpiece or call it slow in the first few episodes because they can not understand and relate to how much shit is actually happening in the early episodes since they never been in the military, deployed or attempted to understand them.
But there are exceptions, I'm not in a military my first watch of this was okay it definitely is a good story but I felt something missing. But when my 2nd, 3rd and somehow 4th rewatch, I experience something it's empathy. A lot of tears and appreciation I gave each episode for this show.
As an Iraq and Afghanistan combat vet, Violet Evergarden hit me hard. It captures a lot really well. I've never seen anything else that captured some of the emotions so well. I have not seen what the other veteran said, but I can imagine. I will have to take a look at it.
What some overlook though, indeed war is her main plot drive, you can however experience the same without being a war veteran (talking about dulled down emotions). For example I have Autisme Spectrum Disorder where in my case I have a tough time with recognizing and expressing emotions, (39:12) That's why I liked Violet Evergarden so much, the story got weaker over time but the first half was very strong. I could find myself so much in the struggles she had, that I also have on a daily basis I still can't tell if I felt: glad, sad, sorry or happy throughout the anime but it was overall a very touching story
To make it even worse, Violet was a child soldier. Other soldiers now may have joined the military at around 18, so they weren't necessarily unable to differentiate good and bad, the dilemma of killing others before eventually getting drilled, unlike Violet who had the drill since she was young and hadn't developed her mentality that much. So imagine what must've gotten through her when she realized her actions in the past was bad. And we haven't even talked about Gilbert, who was somewhat forced to use Violet as a killing machine in battlefield despite her age, even though he came from a background without backward mentality. You can only imagine how much he loathed himself with those actions. These characters are so broken and hurt, even almost feels like they're beyond repair, yet KyoAni still managed to depict how they deserve forgiveness for what they've done in such respectful and caring manner. It amazes me just how much KyoAni believe in humanity.
my son suggested we watch the series together. I understood during the first episode. I have never related to a character so strongly. it's incredible that so much thoughtful consideration and long hours of skill and talent were poured into something that really feels like a personal message of hope to my soul. RIP
OMG yes, I was caught immediately by the designs of the girls in episode 3. Each and everyone, not just Violet, Luculia, Iberis and Bluebell, literally everyone is so different and I love their clothes. There was even a tomboy in her class wearing a suit instead of a dress, sitting right in front of violet with spectacles. One thing i love about Violet evergarden are their clothes, old century european clothes, where girls wear long comfortable dresses.
Sadly not all of them were comfy, especially when they wore corsets. But they are impressive indeed and those bows of theirs so lady-like and classy. Ladies nowadays are... well often rather classes confusing style and good manners by competing which one can reveal more. Not charming at all, now of course not every women is like that fortunately.
@@janchovanec8624 Umm, have you even ever tried wearing a corset before? Being in those things are more comfortable than wearing a bra or your mum's arms. Also, are you implying that all women that wear revealing clothes do it because they are in a competition? For what, drawing *your* attention? What kinda mysogynistic bullshit is that?
@@majourvelencianna5810 , get out of here with your 'misogynistic" bs. Do you even know what that words means? It's become one of the many, many misused words today. Here's a hint, lookup the definitions of misogyny and sexism, and then tell us how often misogyny is properly used. And as for are *all* women who wear revealing clothing in competition? No. But most are! Or have some other prevalent emotional maladjustment or handicap. Or just plain using their looks for manipulation and gain like women have been using that privilege since the beginning of recorded time. Grow up, little girl.
@@Exel3nce pretty much, the fact that fujyoshi bait swimming anime is a better show then this is such a shame, considering the production value put in the audio and visual department
It’s been a year since the attack that took 36 innocent lives from this special company. Those 36 are lives...36 stories without happy endings, 36 people who will not see their family again. But the world has moved forward. As such, we all, as a community cannot let their deaths be in vain. It is thanks to these works, such as Violet Evergarden, we both cherish and mourn their lives and deaths. Let us all celebrate their work in order to respect their lives. Thank you KyoAni. And of course, thank you Under the Scope for this beautiful look, once again, masterfully done, to honor the legacy of KyoAni.
How many of those incredibly talented people are now dead? We may not be getting final answers to that question for days, but while we #PrayForKyoAni, this video shows us perfectly why they shouldn't be. Don't just grieve their ends, but also celebrate their existences and the things they did. Thank you
I haven't watched the whole thing yet but this is so well-formulated and organized. What an outstanding piece of work. And the editing! MrNiesGuy has outdone himself. Amazing.
Normally I'm not a big fan of episodic series, but Violet Evergarden is a lovely exception. I cried way too many times than I thought I would. Awesome Series.
I'm a self-publish manga artist, every time I felt depress and anxiety about the outlook of my career, I always turned to rewatching Violet Evergarden and this documentary of the anime. It gives me a boost of motivation and keep myself back on track on whatever I'm working on. I really can't stress how much Violet Evergarden and the work you have done making justice to this wonderful anime that at one point saved me. I do not how many time I rewatch this video as I lost count of it but I want to take the time to thank you. It's video like this reignites my passion in the pursue of my career and I can't thank enough of it
So many now gone. My condolences to all the families and friends of the amazing artists at Kyoto Animation. I just don’t get why someone would want to hurt a studio that brought so much joy.
To the point of little changes with Violet was when at first she used her mouth to take off her gloves to start typing, but then in like episode 6 she takes them off with her hands instead. Both me and my fiance out loud said "Oh my god! She's using her hands!" ITS JUST SO SMALL BUT SO GOOD AND I LOVE IT. HELP I STARTED TEARING UP AT MULTIPLE PARTS OF THE VIDEO AND MY NOSE WAS LEAKING.
Violet Evergarden is an irreplicable piece of art that holds its own to movie animation throughout the whole 12 episodes and OVA. Hands down my favorite series of all time. The growth of Violet, variation in settings, detail packed into every frame, intense emotional moments that came almost every episode but were generally more pungent than a climax to a series, the great voice acting, and adherence towards realism and emotion rather than the isekai harems that we are forced to pillow through in the current state of anime make me realize the power of Kyoto Animations and respect the incredible power that they have over their own productions.
Starting today, you mahh boy shall be my brother our thoughts/feels just simply the same about Violet Evegarden, I truly appreciate the words you spoke about Violet Eve. This Anime is just the best for me my one and only #1 anime, it really became a part of me/part of my life this anime is just the best amongs the best. Violet Evergarden has its own uniqueness that lure me to keep falling for its beauty, a true master piece it is.
This anime will always hold a place in my heart. Today, we lost many souls who have had a hand in making this anime what it is. Today, we lost many people who have had a hand in making some of the best most well-renowned animes of all time. Let our hearts, prayers, thoughts, and all that we can give to bring back the studio that has brought us joy. Let this studio continue to be the best studio of all time. KyoAni, thank you. So, in the words that you've created, the words that have touched many. Live, live, live.
I did watched this anime 4 times now. It's always the same amazing and beautiful piece of art. It's surprising that piece of anime can actually change something in life.
TheBuenaventura93 Right?! I remember ugly crying through half the episode. I have only cried like three or four times because of a movie or show before.
This literally floored me, and still chokes me up thinking about it, since I had a similar thing happen in my life...but I was 26 when it happened and I “only” had three letters that my step dad gave me over the following year.
What kyoto animation did was just amazing this anime actually did push the limits. The whole thing was so down to earth and everything felt so realistic that it boosted the emotional impact it showed. This anime made me cry so much even though i have never felt these emotions that violet and the others have experienced and it hurts the heart reall bad. I just cant believe that it is over i waited for episode 14 and when that came it was the end if violet evergarden, i know they are making a project or violet evergarden for 2020 but that wait is killing me.
This was excellent. Your affection for the series really shines through. So many details in this production have obviously been carefully considered. I especially appreciate the symbolism around Leiden and Leidenschaftlich ("Leiden" meaning "suffering" and "leidenschaftlich" meaning "passionate"). Unpleasant emotions can arguably be the most visceral and memorable, but they're only part of a greater whole and can lead to a slew of other, more pleasant or productive emotions. Hence Leiden, in addition to being the capital city, is where Violet resides and where she starts every journey from. Her painful past is what enables her emotional awakening. To say that's clever would be selling it short.
I'm back here after the fire blazed on the studio. My heart aches watching these people and thinking about how how they're doing their amazing job on a normal day but suddenly they were trapped in fire. I just can't - 😭
The amount of production and time you put into this work is simply fantastic and inspiring. Sometimes, I don’t have the motivation to go on and do the things I want to do, but watching your videos, or makes me really appreciate your work and make me want to thank you for giving me the drive to do what I need to do.
I don't often comment on RUclips videos at all, but this time I just had to. Thank you so much for this video, the series was so beautiful in so many aspects that learning more about its production sent me through a rollercoaster of all of those emotions I felt whilst watching the series itself. I just wish I didn't watch this before work, I feel myself tearing up. Thank you again, sincerely.
The story is so great. How they talk about emotion and how the dolls job are supposed to write not what they say, but what they actually want to say. Each episode is a masterpiece.
I didn't even talking about the animation/visual. The story about how people have their own struggle and how they react with their emotion, they just deliver it subtly and not "in your face" way. Is there any other anime/western cartoon that has this kind of story telling?
They say that but Violet usually copies word for word what the client says. She does it with Luculia, Leon, Oscar, and Aiden. I also disagree with your other comment, this show has the subtlety of a hammer, it can be very on the nose some times.
This was originally a reply to @Cun Xu but I wanted to post it again. The show, in general, was missing some things but it was still remarkable. The visuals are absolutely beautiful and the story was amazing. It focuses on the struggles of a young girl after a war and brings attention to the heart-wrenching effects of war. It mostly focuses on her emotional development. I don't believe she was ever actually emotionless. From the very beginning, she loved the Major. She just didn't understand her emotions and therefore couldn't express her emotions. But if you look closer she always had those feelings. She was worried about the major and desperate to see him, she gets angry and offended when the Majors brother insults her, and all she wants is to understand. The whole point was discovering her emotions and understanding the Majors final words. Her development and the different stories shown are so well done even if the show was a little over the place at times. Episode 10 is a perfect example where she relates to Ann's loss and loneliness. For the entirety of the episode, she seems emotionless but then breaks down at the end. Although the show is lacking in different areas I cannot help but see it as a masterpiece. Visually it is at the very top in my books, like many other Kyoto Animation projects. I believe it truly captures the emotion masterfully. Violet Evergarden will always be one of my favorites.
I believe that Kyoto Animation can capture emotion and beauty wonderfully in a way that I will never get tired of and it is truly a shame that the Kyoani fire ever occurred. I hope that the victims and their families have recovered and that Kyoani can stand tall once again.
One of your best videos. Violet Evergarden is easily my favorite anime of the year so far, and hearing about it's production was an absolute joy. It amazes me how Kyoto Animation manages to make such consistently beautiful and satisfying shows on a yearly basis.
Violet Evergarden is undoubtedly the best 2D animation production I have seen so far with little sprinkle of CGI. I have started loving anime since watching Beyond The Boundary, one of Kyoani works, and then Violet Evergarden light the fire inside me to become animator. And that's what I am practicing hard right now, all thanks to Kyoani works. But I also know that it wouldn't be easy to match Violet Evergarden production quality, I think I may need at least 10 years experience in animation to even match 30% of Kyoani work quality. Violet Evergarden is a pure masterpiece, and I am waiting for them to do the same feat for their upcoming anime. And also, thanks to this channel for covering the journey of Violet Evergarden production
Such a heart felt story. Like how violet is just a normal human learning to feel and find out what "I love you " stands for. Makes it easier to connect with her and feel more for her more then any other anime. Such a masterpiece. Love the look of this anime and the look of violet. Makes me what to start learning how to type on a type writer now.
honestly, i wasn't even going to watch this before but ive never once regretted my decision ever. this is just the most beautiful and devastating anime i have ever watched from making me cry every episodes. the rewatch possibilities is also high and just..... i just wished the anime won't just end like that. i want more of this anime and more letters she could possibly write.
Same, I put it on my watch list after I thought it seemed cool, I stumbled upon it later on Netflix when I was bored and thought, hmm i guess I check it out, now it's my all time favorite anime
Just like the letters that Violet herself writes, this show has so much dedication and detail put into it, that it is worthy of recognition on a large scale. Unfortunately, Kyoto Animation's studio has suffered a callous arson attack which lift it devastated.
I don't usually leave RUclips comments but this video was so well-researched and detailed that I couldn't resist. Glad you really dove deep into the production and communicated just how special this project was, even by KyoAni's standards. It's not perfect, but it is a beautiful series.
The best anime I have ever watched. Violet's growth of emotions touched me greatly. The entire story was beautiful and how slow it was. You couldn't go in to the episodes and pick out when she grew into the person she is today in one ep. It was slow and subtle, learning how to feel. Beautiful anime. Will never forget it.
Truly, Violet Evergarden is such an amazing piece as well as Kyoani. There were many details I didn't know about until I've watched this video. With fascinating editing and 50 minutes of intriguing information, I was hooked all the way through. You, Under The Scope, are amazing. Thank You.
Excellent documentary, this series has always been dear to my heart, and hearing the music alone stirs emotions in me. The legacy of Kyoto animation will forever live on in this series.
Great video as always! You highlighted what makes KyoAni one of the greatest anime studios ever. KyoAni recognizes their staffs' talents and skills and trust them that's why most of their anime works. They voice out what they think would suit the most in the production. They dont just give in to what the otakus want, they create anime that would leave a mark to the viewers. For Violet Evergarden, I say that the way they adapt the novel (slow build up and not as is as the novel) was a risky move. When I read the novel, it gave me a mysterious vibe to who is this girl called Violet Evergarden. The different tales of different people really hit me hard with so many emotions, and I honestly expected KyoAni to do it as is. But didn't happen. But im also not disappointed. Because they gave me a different look to the story. They adapt it in a way that I can see Violet grows from a girl who knows nothing except killing, to a girl who can help others with letters. Every little achievement she gains makes me proud and every tear she shed makes my heart thump. Of course the tales of others like the playwrite were also very emotional. This is no exaggeration. Violet Evergarden is a great show and really works for me even if it wasn't what I expected. I just hope other people will watch it with open minds so they can realize how powerful it is. Even better if there's little to no expectation. Edit: And Thanks for pointing out that Netflix HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR PRODUCTION AND THE QUALITY OF THE SHOW coz I see a lot of comments praising Netflix for "POURING BUDGET" on Violet Evergarden, which is totally unfair for KyoAni. :)))
Me before starting violet Evergarden: Wow, the animation is really pretty. It must be a touching love story or something. Maybe I should give it a try sometime. Me after watching it: Why you gotta make me cry every 20 minutes bro-
I have watched "Violet Evergarden the Movie" six times so far... it is going to make you cry when it shows overseas. Really, look forward to the conclusion of Violet's story. The attention to detail is amazing. In a passing shot of reference books lying on Violet's table, you can see the text of the books drawn and written out just like real books. Slow moving waves in the background, the blades of grass moving as they get hit by rain drops. Bring a towel for the tears.
This is on my trending now days after the sad incident at KyoAni. I really hope as many of the wonderful staff there that are mentioned in the video are still going. Only have the best respect for them as a studio.
I just want to say that I like to sit and listen to analysis videos while I work or write or play games, and I clicked on this on a whim because the thumbnail was an aesthetic I loved, and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I watched this video fully, and then again, and them again, and then went and watched the anime. It fit every box I wanted filled, every little thing I wanted to see, happened in some way (except the thing w Gilbert being over 30 and violet being 14), and I was so in love. Violet Evergarden has been my favourite anime for 2 years now, and probably always will be, and I will always have a place for it in my heart. Thank you Under The Scope for introducing me to this wonderful world
OH MY GOD ITS FINALLY HERE edit: that was absolutely stunning work, recaptured the magic i first felt with your naoko yamada video. mandatory watching for everyone interested in violet evergarden, kyoto animation or anime in general!

i didnt know kyoani was behind hyouka but that shit was pretty darn great. you dont need grand big mysteries and dramatic narratives, just pour in enough heart and trust that the viewer will be invested in the mystery of who the fuck kept renting a random ass book
Bravo! You made me remember why i loved Violet Evergarden when I first saw it. It wasn't only the animation (wich i think is the best I ever seen) but the emotional journey Violet and the people around her goes through, a journey we all (or at least many of us) can relate to. And creating a history like that is very difficult, but this team of people, this studio made it, evr'y person from the writer of the light novel to the animators gave their best. Is not only one of my favorite animes, but one of my favorite stories of all media.
Dear Violet Thank you for your story ,thank you for the feeling you give me.Thank you to the Kyoani staff ,i just can say thank you for all of you that bring us and me this beautiful story. You will always take place in my heart and I Love You
Wow geez thanks for making me a sobbing mess. On a more serious note though, the way you led the story of the making of Violet Evergarden so smoothly makes you no less of a great story teller. The way you broke the series into different parts and patiently explained each one of them from A-Z was beautiful.
Mikiko-sama's work in background and set design was absolutely breathtaking. The detail is so intricate that upon first glance, her realistic work almost looks like a photograph. The way she'd emulate tone into backgrounds is something that's often overlooked but is absolutely vital to not only animation but to written and illustrated works as well. May she rest in peace.
This is much like a documentary being 50 minutes long. Although it's very good and worth watching. I actually had goosebumps a few times watching this. Tysm for the brilliant work!

I personally absolutely love everything about Japan. I really don't know why. & Anime like these give me hope for waking up another day
Ah if you only knew, in Latinamerica they are a lot of anime fans, due to the fact that Mexico and other Latinamerican countries imported anime shows in the 80s but mainly in the late 90s early 2000s.

@@Exel3nce
And what about the whole growth of a character that has not even any touch of emotion, not even considering the well portrayed horrible after effects the war has on the population and the different ways people find to get over it and somehow live on? I think the story delivered all this psychological healing very well.
a human being that has no emotions is already a dumb concept, especially if she showed some when gilbert died. i would understand it if she was an andorid but even then it would be pretty generic.
the after effects of the war? that was never even a big focus in the show
@@Exel3nce
What, did you even watched the series?
I never expected that rewatching this video would make me tear up so much. Too much sadness...

I love how you clarify that just because netflix threw some money on the series didn't change the animation style or quality. Netflix just brought the rights and many people think that because of netflix violet evergarden is what it is today.
I hate that though because I'm skeptical with Netflix and I'm also aware that it was KyoAni's work.

Which year was it
their 2020 Violet Evergarden movie with Kobayashi Dragon Maid season 2 are absolute bangers!
But mostly anyone that actually watches it falls in love.
truly a love letter to violet evergarden.
I appreciate this video very much. It is really inspiring.
Thank you.
Thank You to everyone who worked hard to make the show. 😊😊
For example I have Autisme Spectrum Disorder where in my case I have a tough time with recognizing and expressing emotions, (39:12)
That's why I liked Violet Evergarden so much, the story got weaker over time but the first half was very strong. I could find myself so much in the struggles she had, that I also have on a daily basis
I still can't tell if I felt: glad, sad, sorry or happy throughout the anime but it was overall a very touching story

But the world has moved forward. As such, we all, as a community cannot let their deaths be in vain. It is thanks to these works, such as Violet Evergarden, we both cherish and mourn their lives and deaths.
Let us all celebrate their work in order to respect their lives.

The director of Violet Evergarden....😭
That's BRILLIANT. I'll have to take note of that for my own writing!!!
Whenever I hear words "Violet Evergarden" I got a goosebumps. I'll always remember this anime until I die.

visual wise maybe
I didn't even talking about the animation/visual.
The story about how people have their own struggle and how they react with their emotion, they just deliver it subtly and not "in your face" way.
Is there any other anime/western cartoon that has this kind of story telling?
ik you didnt , my comment was meant for your last sentence
They say that but Violet usually copies word for word what the client says. She does it with Luculia, Leon, Oscar, and Aiden. I also disagree with your other comment, this show has the subtlety of a hammer, it can be very on the nose some times.

My heart flatters to see the animation. Oh my goodness
Violet evergarden was one of the first anime i watched. Easily one of my favourite and touched my heart
She haves the emotions but dont know how to express them
If only I didn't lack the emotions I could understand the people around me

Absolutely amazingly detailed and interesting video ! Watched the whole thing , now I really appreciate everything from violet evergarden more than I already did
Kyoto Animation is really a masterpiece machine. Hyouka, Clannad AS, Sound Euphonium and of course Evergarden are all something special
But not all masterpieces
@@Exel3nce To each their own
Sure but you also have to look past the visuals and manipulative parts but Yea, to each their own
i didnt know kyoani was behind hyouka but that shit was pretty darn great. you dont need grand big mysteries and dramatic narratives, just pour in enough heart and trust that the viewer will be invested in the mystery of who the fuck kept renting a random ass book
Clannad is my favorite
A legendary master piece with leasons and emitions unlike anyother i have every seen!
Came back to this video after 2 years. This anime and story will always have a special place in my heart
Violet Evergarden is such an incredible production, it's the show that reminded me why I love anime. Thank you so much for this video.
Dear Violet
Thank you for your story ,thank you for the feeling you give me.Thank you to the Kyoani staff ,i just can say thank you for all of you that bring us and me this beautiful story. You will always take place in my heart and I Love You
What a magical documentary hard to believe it's a youtube video, thank you so much for this truly !!
Wow geez thanks for making me a sobbing mess.
On a more serious note though, the way you led the story of the making of Violet Evergarden so smoothly makes you no less of a great story teller. The way you broke the series into different parts and patiently explained each one of them from A-Z was beautiful.
Thank You for Everything ~ Kyoto Animation touched a lot of people hearts
Even in the saddest ways 😇
Violet evergarden is one of the most beautiful and touching anime’s I’ve ever watched. You can believe how much I’ve cried watching it
Forget anime of the year. Anime of the DECADE.

15 seconds in*
Remembering everything about Violet Evergarden's Story both anime and movies
Sobbing silently
This is a beautiful anime. Everything is beautiful especially the meaning, the words. I can't even explain how much I love this show...
Violet Evergarden is a masterpiece. The story is so beautiful and the animators did BEST JOB EVER. AS EXPECTED FROM KYOTO ANIMATION, THE BEST OF BEST.
Violet evergarden was really beautiful
Mikiko-sama's work in background and set design was absolutely breathtaking. The detail is so intricate that upon first glance, her realistic work almost looks like a photograph. The way she'd emulate tone into backgrounds is something that's often overlooked but is absolutely vital to not only animation but to written and illustrated works as well. May she rest in peace.
Thank you for making this. #PrayForKyoAni
Damn our boy put in work, GREAT JOB!! KYOTO ANIMATION IS THE BEST
I SECOND!!👋🏾
It's the best studio
You should've seen the grin on my face when I checked the lenght of the video for the first time at around 17 minutes. Amazing video
This video is so incredibly well-researched - I'm in awe! Great job!
This is much like a documentary being 50 minutes long. Although it's very good and worth watching. I actually had goosebumps a few times watching this. Tysm for the brilliant work!
May the victims of the KyoAni fire rest in peace. Thank you for inspiring so many and sharing your talents with everyone ❤
