Wow, nice camera that Pat😀👍 Excellent first light images, great video. I’m looking forward to imaging the Rosette Nebula again, this time with my 2600 mono! I’ve only done it once with Glenn over a year ago in OSC!
    Clear skies Pat!

      Thanks, Simon.
These new large frame cameras are totally awesome (and totally expensive). The Rosette is one of my favorites, right along the Horsehead. Clear Skies Simon.

Awesome video, Pat! Have fun with your new purchase...I've got the Uranus-C and Apollo-M Max from Player One and have been very impressed with their performance, included accessories and quality! Best wishes from Scotland and look forward to seeing more of your results! :)

Thank you for watching my video, all the way there in Scotland. I also have the Uranus-C non cooled planetary camera and am greatly impressed with that one, but this Poseidon is knocking my socks off. Those Antlia filters don't hurt either.

Excellent stuff Pat!! So happy for you mate, I really do hope you get some serious use out of that cam as the data you were showing looked beautiful! :-) Congratulations & clearest of skies my friend!

      Thanks, Luke.
I was inspired to check out the Player One cameras due to your videos concerning them. This Poseidon mono is a great camera and I hope to capture many targets in both narrowband and broadband with it. Those new 4.5nm Antlia filters ain't bad either.
      Clear Skies, Luke

Congrats on the new camera. Looks like it will be capturing some fantastic images. No amp glow is soooooo good. CS

      Thanks, Logan.
So far, I haven't had the need for dark frames or flats.
Those Antlia filters are great too.
So, I assume you are in the short astronomical darkness season. Just the opposite here now. Nonetheless, clear skies to you

I bought the same pkg. (plus with the OAG which btw is very well integrated into their system). I love mine. One caution: be careful of the USB cables that come with their camera. They *seem* like great quality but I had much trouble with them and ended up getting replacements. Perhaps in the months since I bought they have corrected this issue however at the time I was not alone, others on CN had similar complaints. Great first light video .. enjoy!

      Thank you, Bruce.
The USB cables seem to be fine with this one, but I am using my own, which are of higher quality. Now that this video is posted, and I am excited about getting more data, the clouds have decided to make my area their home. Ha. Well, clear skies to you (I hope)

Congrats on that new purchase. The camera seems like a game changer. Please share with us some of the advantages of this camera over other imx 571 out there. Maybe the usb C, the anti dew, internal memory, tilt adjustment, just to name a few. Looking forward to seeing some new images with this new addition to your rig.

I am looking at the same and the Zeus from Player One and was wary as I only found one vendor in Canada. How has the camera performed since your video?

      Hi Victor,
I've been using the Poseidon for my monochrome imaging and still love it. It's images are so clean that I can get away from taking calibration frames. Zero amp glow is a blessing.
      Clear Skies

Isn't buying new toys fun! The Camera may be expensive, but let's not forget the 2" filters.
    What bortle are you in?
The weather program you use looks far more useful than
"clear outside ", or Astrospheric .

      Hi Mike,
Yes it is! And, YEP, those filters nearly set me back by a grand, but wow, they are performing better than I was expecting. I am in a Bortle ~4.5 to 5 depending how many of my neighbors keep their outside lights on. I can see the Milky Way from the garden. FYI, I am a retired meteorologist and make my own forecast based on the current computer models. My favorite weather web site (other than my own ... Savannahpat.name) is Tropicaltidbits.com.

I'm in bortle 8-9 Milwaukee. Shooting color. Using OPTOLONG L ENHANSE. Considering Antlia. Too many choices. At there prices, one must choose wisely. Your praise (and other's) of these is encouraging. I'll check out the weather "app ". You have a unique channel. Very enjoyable. I'm a retired electronics tech.

Yes it is. I thought twice then thought again for about 3 months before I made the decision to buy it. I'm glad I have it though. It is a great camera. The OSC version is a bit less expensive.
