Bruce fought the law and the law won!
Except his criminal case was dismissed and this is a civil case brought by himself
@@Ktmfan450 it was essentially a mistrial, hopefully enough came out in the defamation case for them to pursue charges again.
@@asheronwindspear552 For Brittany Higgins I hope as much
Bruce fought a tort,
And the defendant won.... 😂
Doesn't work 🤷♂️
@@davespanksalot8413someone should have told him about Oscar Wildes defamation case
The high point of this, if there is one, is “Having escaped the lion’s den Mr Lehrmann made the mistake of coming back for his hat.” This one-liner is bound for posterity. Just exquisite! 👍🏻
Bet he knew that one would become a meme
Balance of probability he is a rapist as stated by the judge.
Now off to Toowoomba for the next alleged rape case against him. The pattern of his behaviour is pretty clear.
Sadly for him . . He has to go overseas, just not France, Brittany is already there!
@@archerten
Doesn’t matter where is goes he will be known as a serial sex offender. He won’t be able to hide behind the misogynistic liberal party and its deviants.
Can't wait for Janet Albrachtsen to totally ignore this verdict.
Oh she'll come up with some kind of absurdly contorted "logic" to suggest the verdict was "all wrong".
God save us from these right-wing nut jobs.
She’s a nunce
Lehrmann won't have to pay for sex if he goes to jail
He'll be on the receiving side of the non-consensual sex this time though :)
Loose Bruce.
You legend 😂😅😂
Brilliant😀
bahahahahaha you win the internet
Bruce must have been absent from law school the day they discussed rape !
He started after the accusations. Not that knowing the law stops people.
Even though this is good news, he should be in jail. Thanks for your coverage.
There's still the Toowoomba trial to come, and given all the attention he's generated, that won't go well for him. He'll find out what rape is all about.
@@Devo491guess BL will claim he can't have a fair trial due to all this publicity - which he has created.
Along with most of the liberals
Bruce is a narcissist. The fact that he thought he could profit off the fact that go away from a rape charge due to a technicality says heaps about his character.
Hope he disappears into the aether, and we never hear from him again.
Maybe heading for a jail cell.
There is another rape case
I do hope that at some point we will find out why defending and covering for Lehrmann appears to be vitally important to some very rich and powerful Australians.
I'm sure he'll have a job at Sky News or the Australian, before you know it.
Sadly this is probably true. Just when you think Sky scape the bottom, they find new depths.
On the track to be Liberal Leader in a decade or two.
Do you refer to Sky Opinion?
Not so sure about that. I doubt the bosses office is open for drunken booty calls in the middle of the night.
Or Ch7
Well done Shane for staying on course to report the facts rather than being partisan to any side.
Lehrmann shot himself in the foot by bringing up defamation when it is perfectly obvious that he is a sleazebag. (Ha! so do me for defamation?). Umm ... the facts, and non partisan assessment of them. The Judge bent over backwards to be fair and non partisan and stay strictly to the facts. That's why there are 354 pages of his assessment and nearly two and a half hours of his oral report. Can you match that?
Reynolds has always been a disgrace
TFG. I really do not like Lisa Wilkinson or her reporting but so glad she won this case. I loved the judges summation about Lehrmann's folly in going back for his hat. Ha.
Yeah I don’t really care about Lisa, but happy it gives some level of justice to Brittany
I think Michael Lee was spot on with his judgement. Brittney Higgins is a bit immature and self-absorbed, but that should not be a reason to deny her some justice.
Lee couldn't convict Lehrmann, but he did the next best thing when he branded him with the mark of Cain. Lehrmann's troubles in Queensland just became that little bit harder to talk his way out of.
Next stop for Bruce, Toowoomba Courthouse haha
These findings are such a relief!! Thank the gods of some justice....my faith is but a tiny seed!
Thank you Shane, for keeping this in the public eye, I can literally mime the reports from ABC radio, until Today!!!
The findings about the bruise surprised me, guess he had seen that sort of thing before.
That's great news.Thank you for the update. Love Your Work.
Cheers Shane. Always appreciate your analysis and legal detail
Let’s start counting g just how many people have defamed and or hounded Brittany Higgins shall we? I’d say that list is going to be rather a long list.
Bruce’s defamation case really backfired! Ouch!
Bet he’s having a bender tonight 😂
I agree, mate. You definitely are Australia's top investigative journalist. We are so lucky to have you.
The cocaine and Thai massage industries might take a tumble given the potential amount of damages
you are Australia's number 1 investigative journalist 🦘!! thanks Shane
Liarman has caught himself out. Thanks Shane for your determined pursuit of this case, particularly now in relation to Linda Reynolds, which was the first thing on my mind after the verdict, she will be doing some back pedaling very fast. Serves her right too.
I wonder at what point it dawned on Bruce that all his friends in high places were not going to ensure his status as a protected species.
There were so many liars infesting parliament house at the time of the incident - we can be happy at least one of them, albeit one of the least of them, is seeing some consequences. Pity that this might be the only shred of justice that we see.
Thanks Shane..., waited for your update & overview... 👌, good point about Reynolds...
Plently of unanswered questions from this whole saga.
The best line from the judge, "He escaped the lion's den but then returned to get his hat" 🤣🤣🤣
Great analysis and comment Shane, as per usual.
Great work Shane, keep those bastards honest
Wooo Hooo finally some truth coming out of this mess. Now what about all those who sought to protect him? There need to be heads rolling over this.
Just found your channel. Subbed.
Thanks for your coverage. Much appreciated.
It doesn’t matter how people feel, what they think nor what they believe. Leer Man has to pay, financially. Love that for him.
Bring on Toowoomba.
Thanks Shane
Bruce is heading for so much more
Thank goodness! Now how do we get him in jail...
Could happen in qld
I wonder how entitled Bruce feels now.
Thanks for your hard work, Shane.
Legend
I hope it was a nice hat because it is going to cost him the shirt off his back.
Great work Shane. Aussie Bob 😊
Bruce's legal career? A finding that he lied on his oath will prevent him from being a barrister, maybe a problem for him becoming a solicitor but in house lawyer for 7 is not a problem.
Still need to be admitted to be an in house lawyer
@@Quiz261Grl You can but it is not essential.
What a Wonderful result
Thanks for your insight
Yeah the judge made his decision ....hopefully Lehrmann & Higgins will disappear into the sunset, personally I am over them. Security should never have given junior staffers entry into arguably one of the most secure places in Australia without authorisation from a senior staffer or the minister. It would interesting to know how much the taxpayers have had to pay.
Now the facts have been ascertained in a civil trail he is liable for her counter suit if she sues him in the civil courts. It was a very stupid legal move on his part to sue for defamation as it turns out or else he should have sued channel ten alone. I bet he wishes he could run the case again.
Obviously his legal council learned nothing from the BRS case.
Lehrmann has no money.... kind of pointless suing someone with no money.
@andrewsmith8729 You're correct: he's a straw man now but if he'd won against channel ten alone she could then have sued him to recover what he got haha although it would be more difficult. Oh the twists and turns and even inanities of the law!
His name is mud. No half decent company will want to be associated with him. Hire him and you grossly damage your brand.
With someone with his past, could he even be an Uber driver!? LOL
Hahaha. In my recommendations on the right is a Channel 7 video entitled "Judge delivers shock ruling in Lehrmann defamation case". It was only a shock to those advising Lehrmann that Channel 10 would settle and Lehrmann would get a nice payout. Bluff called, haha.
MAINSTREAM MEDIA SHOULD REFER TO BRUCE LEERMAN AS FORMER LIBERAL PARTY MEMBER EVERY TIME HIS NAME COMES UP LIKE THEY SMEAR HONEST PEOPLE LIKE YOURSELF
How might Linda Reynolds actions in her defamation cases now look in the cold hard light of this new day.
Better grab the popcorn 🍿
Perhaps, it’s not about getting a judgment - but getting it “settled” $$$ out of court 🤔
Dear Bruce,
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
That is all.
I'd like to add one small note:
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
@@aarondavidson6409 🤣
Laughter is the best medicine folks. ❤️
as you say, this makes many others also guilty, police, politians, accomlices of BL and many more. lets hope more justice is served.
Never sue for defamation. Just ask the ghost of Oscar Wilde. The other problem is that the defamation happens three times. First the actual event. Second during the trial. Third when the judgment is published.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall, in the Channel 7 and NewsLtd office's, today
I just love the comment "he escaped the lion's den but went back for his hat".
Reynolds continuing with her case? Seriously??
My God!
Nah, she would be daft to continue, my bet is she will be withdrawing the case and announcing that she has done so when something else is getting attention in the news.
Yes, the mainstream news says Reynolds is continuing to pursue Brittney Higgins. Now, there is a piece of work.
I have trouble seeing how Reynolds can claim any high ground. Here is a Brigadier General pretending to play the dumb older woman who left all the decisions up to a 22 year old woman. My bet is her first phone call was to that snake I'm in it for the Cash.
My opinion of what appears to have gone on immediate after the incident is a legal fixer has gone to work. It is just a bit too ducks in a row, squeaky clean and perfect, which to me indicates things have been legally sanitised.
The key players are positioned just far enough away so any sh*t doesn't stick to them, but close enough to claim any kudos.
I would like to know how many other lounge suites were " routinely deep cleaned" at around the same time? My thinking being the Ministers Offices would be clustered more or less together. So, anybody doing routine deep cleaning would work their way along to the offices next to the Minister for Defence Office unless it was at the end of the run. There should be a record of lounges in other offices getting cleaned around the same time.. because it would likely be a systematic process.
Aside from that, I wonder if anyone has looked for a Routine Deep Cleaning Schedule?
There must be a paper trail that documents the management of the cleaning staff on a nightly basis because the cleaning of a large building like Parliament house would be a systematic process.
On Monday night, tasks ABC a done and these offices cleaned etc.
Nobody employs a group of cleaners without some means of allocating tasks and checking the work has been done.
One might think routine deep cleaning would appear on those daily job worksheets. The supervisor looks at the schedule of tasks and writes deep cleaning the lounge in this MP's office gets done tonight on the prestart job worksheet.
why would Reynolds discontinue her case when judge Lee found the whole conspiracy to cover up the rape was bullshit orchestrated by Shiraz for political purposes? This can only work in her favor.
Whilst a systematic approach would be good business practice - quite often cleaning companies are no more than a collection of workers who do as they are told on a needs basis - no schedule of routine cleaning. This is probably how they got a quick turn around on cleaning that couch! And this is why the cleaning was asked for in a confident manner of it flying under the radar.
@@KK-og2gg Yes, you are talking about tin pot organisations cleaning shops and office blocks.
This is Parliament House. A whole different different kettle of fish. The security implications alone make it so. Now, I am not going to bother getting into explaining why in detail. What I will say, is when the LNP were previously asked about the lounge, someone stood up and claimed it was cleaned according to a routine schedule.
I get what you have said... but you have missed the point by a country mile.
Where to from now JAIL
Good to see justice. Happens occasionally. Aussie Bob
Christian Porter didn't go back for his hat.
Too many questions surrounding the woman’s death.
The defecation hit the rotary oscillator and stuck on that one. Didn't the wife finally bail when things started to get too hot... Maybe she knew of something about his alleged preference for anal sex.
Anyhow, it no longer matters. What matters is that germ will never become PM like some people thought he would.
Justice .
Thank you for your investigative journalism, Shane.
And thank you for pointing out the importance of Lisa Wilkinson’s actions in helping to drive the outcome.
Whether intended or not, Lisa has exposed the unethical behaviour of Lehrmann and others!
She stood up despite the broken “system” of litigation and capitulation - that would have almost certainly led to Lehrmann settling out of court with Channel 10.
This is a common outcome of the “system” - particularly when the media is involved.
Whether it is this type of defamation case, worker’s compensation or other complaint, decisions are not being made but rather, $$$ outcomes are derived - all the while, the injustice/cause/action never gets properly dealt with, caselaw doesn’t get established and so, new “other people” will encounter the problem and thereby jump on this same old merry go round and it typically ends - out of court!
Makes me wonder if it is actually , an established a “tap” of $$$ within the “system” for the lawyers and others rather than the “system” doing its job of dispensing justice and therefore, change 🤔 It’s only when matters go through to a court case judgement that we see betterments.
Who was relying on the $$$ in this case?
It is ironic that the “system” does not fulfil its true function - which is to create a better functioning society.
I reckon he would have said that too Shane!
He still has more rape charges to face.
Escaped the lions den but went back for his hat. Rocksolid gold comedy haha
Justice at last
I appreciate your nuanced take on Lisa. I found her conduct to be self-aggrandising. But you make a very convincing case that this victory would not have happened without her putting her neck on the line here and for that I concur with your conclusion and thank you for changing my opinion.
There is a still an issue or two that she needs to be taken to task on which I will do in an article / video on Wednesday
Yes! Thanks for bringing this news to us Shane. If he is still a law student, the university should boot him out. I wouldn't want to be a fellow student with him.

Oh dear, wonder how much 7 will be up for.
I wonder if it’s all “swings and roundabouts?🤔
It’s fed each media channel’s news cycle for months and months!
Always did think that there was something off about his story!!
Lisa Wilkinson was taken off air despite the fact that she is under contract. Lisa has well and truly lost the support of the public.
She can't have public support if she's taken off air ?
At least she has morals and will get respect from people for outing a rapist 👍🏻
@@ruffledfeathers8716 morals? hilarious . she is a self serving grub.
That’s the risk of a defamation case. It is NOT a criminal trial. As a result has NOT been found guilty of rape. Defamation is based on the balance of probabilities not beyond reasonable doubt.
He’s a rapist..
The balance of probabilities means when the implausible and improbable are ruled out what's left must be pretty close to the truth.
I think it is a great result and sends a clear message to some people they cannot get away with their crime by hiding behind closed doors where there are no witnesses.
No, he was not convicted, but this result was the next best thing.
Whilever he is in Australia, Lerhmann will be known as the man who raped Brittney Higgins, which is just about as good as having the mark of Cain branded on his forehead. My bet is he will go back to the USA to disappear.
I now have a mental image of Bruce Lehrmann grabbing his hat like Indiana Jones while the big stone door lowers on his hand.
I wonder when we'll hear about the peanut who was broadcasting the trial? I know he is up on contempt of court, I can't find a date for when he will next appear though.

An interesting consequence of the judgement is that Luhrmann was identified by the Wilkinson story even though he wasn’t named. Basically, if there are witnesses or if the victim has been seen with the accused they can be identified.

Does anyone know where the bar footage of Luhrmann buying the drinks is? The judge’s comment made me wonder if perhaps he was getting for free. I don’t remember two copies of the receipt coming out of the eftpos machine and the bar should have kept the merchant copy if the payment went through.
The judge basically said Lehrmann lied about the payments (only one card) and there must have been another way he paid.
@@KangarooCourtofAustralia Or not paid at all. Only one copy comes out when there is a problem, like not enough funds or something. The business always keeps the merchant copy in case the till doesn’t match the eftpos total at the end of the night.
P.s. it isn’t a big surprise that he would buy so many drinks if he actually wasn’t paying for them.

“Press freedom is fragile…where ultra-concentration of media ownership..(&) growing official pressure, endanger public interest journalism….making Australia’s media landscape *one of the most concentrated in the world*”- Reporters without Borders remarks on Australia’s World Press Freedom Index.
