Thanks for sharing, this was very insightful. I do have a question regarding the lagging span. Since it is current's price lagged by 26 periods, the most recent 26 candles (regardless of the timeframe) will not have a corresponding lagging span. So how would one be able to confirm whether the current price is above or below the lagging span? Thanks in advance.

I prefer higher time frames, H4 and D1.
Great video, very well explained. I use an adapted Ichimoku with just the Cloud and Kijun but add a 21 EMA and a 9 period RSI. Works well on trending assets
how do you decide how what time period to use for EMA and RSI?
@@shaambhavshankar8782 the 21 EMA gives more weight to recent prices and the 21 period is very common. The RSI at 7 enables to trade a short cycle

You are absolutely one of the best authorities on discerning trading strategies! Clear, concise and smart. However, I wonder about the usefulness of the lagging line (the chikuo span) -- In Tradingview, the lagging line doesn't show at all in the present (obviously) as it apparently waiting for 26 (or is it 52?) period points to plot. In fact, if you just shift the entire lag line pattern 26 periods to the right, it'll just mirror the current price pattern, and because the lag line doesn't print until after the fact, it's essentially meaningless, isn't it? Also, how does changing the input values of each line affect the interprettation of the ichimoku indicators?
Kinda fell the same, I really don't pay too much attention to the lagging span. In fact, I only rely on the kumo cloud.

I have watched a number of videos on the Ichimoku system and the one element always missing is the time frame used. Is it 2 min., 15 min., 1 hr. , 4 hr., daily or what? If you set the timing for a short period the price could be below the cloud. if set for longer periods price may be above the cloud. Price position will change drastically depending on the timing used. Which time period is best for trading stocks? Not day trading, but for longer investing trading.

Use only 4h and day time frame with ichimoku. It works best with these. You can try go lower and test yourself, but I wouldn't bother.

THE PRICE APPEARS BELOW THE LAGGIN SPAN IT MEAN WEAKNESS IN THE TREND" IT WAS A LITTLE CONFUSING I HAD TO WATCH IT A COUPLE
