Haven't finished the whole thing BUT any challenge produced by THIS CHANNEL, you're going to see results! I remember I did your 30 Day Summer challenge and got an inch worth of growth! EDIT: Girl, this challenge is also a "tone your arms" challenge too with all the scalp massaging we'll be doing xD
Disclaimer: this comment is very long. A new subscriber here. I watched one of your vids (it was about 48 minutes) where you said that a lot of women don't really share their hair secrets (which is totally true).. so this comment is not about the actual challenge. It's just about my hair tips, and about what works FOR ME. So if you're interested, keep reading. My hair type: I have a classic hair length, and no, it is not just "genetic" because I have two sisters whose hair is not as long and healthy as mine because they are not patient enough to do what I do. I have a B2 hair type, but I don't have the thickest hair, and it is not thin either. the thickness is just average but it makes other women ask me about my hair secrets (And I am saying women because I wear Hijab, so men outside my family don't see my hair). Here are my tips. A. What I Don't: 1. I don't dye my hair with chemical products (I only use Henna- check point 3 in "What I Do" section). 2. I don't use heat or silkpress my hair 3. I don't care about trendy hair products, I make my own things B. What I Do
1. Algerian KARDOUN: Look, this is a sacred tip for me, which I can't emphasize enough!! I don't expect everyone to know what Kardoun is, so I am going to explain it. Kardoun is just a long and narrow ribbon that we use in Algeria. We make a low ponytail, then we wrap kardoun around the rest of the hair. So basically it is our protective style that preserves the length of the hair and prevents split ends. When I was only six, my hair was at tailbone, because my mother used kardoun to protect the length of my hair. I cut it then and it grew long again. I cut my long hair short several times in my life and it grows again with proper care. I use Kardoun DAILY especially before going to bed. I Keep it wrapped around my hair even when I do out even though it's not stylish, because I cover my hair with Hijab and no one can see what's underneath. 2. Hair Oils: I have tried three types of oils: Extra virgin Olive oil: We harvest olives ourselves, cold-press them ourselves, and preserve the olive oil at home for daily consumption and cosmetic use. Coconut oil, and argan oil. I have not tried other oils. I don't buy rosemary essential oil for example. I just make it at home. (I wash the rosemary springs from any impurities, dry them very well. Once dry, I put them in a glass jar, add olive oil, use the double boiling method to heat the mixure, store the mixture in a dark place for a couple weeks) Oiling Routine. Before washing my hair, I oil my scalp for a 4 to 5 hours, and honestly, I oil my hair after I wash it, with light amount of oil before my hair dries. Between washes, I oil my hair as needed. I usually add a few drops of oil to my hair almost every single day before I apply Kardoun. 3. Henna, Henna, Henna: I apply henna on my hair ONCE A MONTH, and yes, EVERY single month. Sometimes when I have time I make it twice a month, but that rarely happens. Yes, I need an entire day, I call it the Henna day, but it's worth it. It makes my hair soft, shiny, strong, and let me tell you, hair fall decreases soooo muuuuch when I use henna. I know you're wondering if it makes my hair orange, no it doesn't. My hair is naturally dark brown, but I have a few gray strands that I've had since I was 17 (Yes, that's genetic). the grays look like highlights when I use henna. What I use with Henna? a. Herbs: Sidr powder, rosemary powder, lavender powder, basil powder, thyme powder, and another plant I harvest from the forest called "ALZAZ". This plant is like a natural "keratin", it is slimy and it makes the hair so soft, and strong. It can be used as a substitute to henna for those who don't like to colour their hair. It is green but it doesn't stain or dye your hair. If you wonder how I make all these herbal powders, I just harvest the fresh plants from the forest, wash them, dry them, then grind them. I guess you can get these plants dried from any website on the net b. Herbal tea: I don't mix my henna with plain water, no. In a large pot, I add: water plus (olive leaves, cloves, warmwood, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves) and why not (rosemary, basil, and thyme even though I have already added them in powder form to henna). You ask me why, what's the logic? I tell you, this is how I do it. I boil everything, let it sit for at least 6 hours before I add it to henna. (Yes, I make it the night before I use henna) So basically I make a herbal hair tea to mix my henna. Save a bottle of this herbal tea to spray on my hair throughout the week. A note about wormwood: My ancestors have been using it for centuries for its medicinal and antibacterial properties, it contains flavonoids, polyphenols which protect the hair follicles against free radicals. It STIMULATES hair growth and prevents hair loss. 4. Hair Spray: I use the same herbal hair tea I mentioned in the previous point to spray my hair. If you don't have all the ingredients, just use WHAT YOU HAVE. it's better than nothing. Maybe you know better herbs that I don't have, use them. 5. Hair Masks: I guess you've already expected that I use a natural hair mask. You're right. Flaxseed gel, BEFORE I wash my hair. Once a week or once every two weels, it depends. And yes, I apply a small amount of flaxseed gel on my hair AFTER the I wash my hair, and that is before I use oil, and no, it doesnt leave white residues, it doesn't become flaky, just a light coat on the hair before using oil. 6. Diet: Honestly, I am not sticking to any special diet, and if I told you I eat healthy food all the time I'd be lying. I just cook my own food at home. I rarely eat outside. I try to avoid junk food and sugar (because my father has diabetes so...). I drink green tea every day in the morning, and around 4 P.M. Not always, but I try to make herbal teas when I can. There's a tree called (la verveine citronnelle) and according to google, it is known as "Aloysia citriodora" or "lemon verbena". The leaves of this tree make a great herbal tea. Hibiscus, licorice roots and camomille are some of my favourite herbal teas as well. When I want to ingest these herbs, I don't mix them all together at the same time, I just choose one ingredient to make a tea. Sometimes I would add a pinch of wormwood or a small dessert spoon of rosemary, that's it. (example: 1 large tablespoon of hibiscus + a dessert spoon of rosemary// 1 TS of licorice roots+ pinch of wormwood). I am not a scientist, so I can't explain why herbal teas are good for health, but I grew up watching people around me drink them, and they're in a good health. Do your research if you're interested or suspicious. Pregnant women are often advised to AVOID herbal teas. 7. Suppliments: I don't take any suppliments except collagen. I am 33 y/o and I recently started to take collagen just to avoid wrinkles. I have not seen its results on my hair YET. NOTE: I know I have mentioned several herbs, but you don't really have to get all of them to start taking care of your hair. Maybe I only use these herbs because they are available to me and 99% of the time I get them from the nearby forest for free. In my country, even those who live far from the forest can get good quality herbs for a cheap price because they are available, and we have a LOT of herbs and spices stores. Use what you have and be consistent. C. What I want to start doing. I don't do these things but I want to add them to my routine. 1. Scalp massage: I have read and watched several videos about the scalp massage, especially the scalp over skull massage. 2. Amla powder: I honestly love love love indian hair secrets and I don't know why I have not started using amla yet. 3. Fenugreek: I rarely add fenugreek to my tea. in my entire life, only once I applied fenugreek powder mask on my hair when I was suffering from hairfall after a miscarriage.. My eyes could not believe how fenugreek immediately stopped the hair fall, but I couldn't stand the smell of it. that's the only reason why I don't use fenugreek
I love how you created a schedule for hair growth. Everyone keeps talking about what to do but not on daily routines. I washed and deep conditioned before watching this vid. I'm so into this challenge😊 Thanks sis
👑Deanna aka #DBF ...Thank again for regifting the DBF Hair Care Regimen 🌱. Adding to my HAIR BIBLE (with supporting weekly scriptures). Standing at 5'9", 160 lbs and 60-years young (menopausal); I AM stuck in the cross-hairs of just below bra-strap and mid-back length. Staying the course to achieve beyond waist-length. You are a tremendous BLESSING ❣️🥰
No lie I can’t watch a 48 min video 😂 BUT I did want to stop by and say how much I LOVE your end sealant. I’ve finished a jar and bought 2 more. I have shared it on my channel a couple times and am about to do an updated video showing how it eliminates 100% breakage
I'm excited to start this tomorrow! Thank you so much again, Deanna (and Jackie!) You're genuine and genuinely my favorite hair entrepreneur. I have plans to get my hands on some of your product, specifically your curl cream!
D we need a group for results. I was doing the original routine twice a month for 6 months with the fenugreek alma powder etc and my hair came back THICKKKKKK. Im going back to the routine now that I got my official trim.
Very informative video. ❤ I've been on a protective style journey for the past 5 years. My curls only see me when they're being washed lol. I install protective styles on my natural hair with mini twists and braided roots on blown out hair. I always make sure during my wash day process I thoroughly cleanse, condition, and prep my hair for heat styling in order to avoid heat damage. My protective style usually will last 3 to 4 weeks then I start the process again. During the winter season I usually straighten my hair and it last for 3 to 4 weeks as well.
Can you do a video of how you got your product to the market or online. What I mean is the step by step: contract you had to sign, what company gave you the copyright stuff like that it's just a step-by-step how you actually materialize your product. Thank you
Love love love this! I was wanting to try a challenge for growth! This came right on time. I’ve been trying to get my hair longer and thicker and i love watching your videos for tips and tricks! Can’t wait to see my results! Thanks !! 🥹 Ps. I’m already growing rosemary in my garden, imma grow ginger now for this hair tea. 🇧🇸
I think I have mixtures of curls. Either I have full 3c or 3c with 4a idk if I should buy your coils curl cream or curl cream ? I remember I bought the last curl cream u used the ors and it didn’t work for my hair so idk ! I bought your sealant and omg it works like wonders on my hair also I did bought your curl cream but idk if I should get the coil one!
Hello, I hope you're doing well! I have a question I was hoping you could help me with. Could you please explain why deep condition before shampooing, especially when the hair is dirty? Wouldn't it be more effective to shampoo first and then apply the deep conditioner? Thank you so much for your insight!
What would you recommend for someone still in the TWA stage that has scalp issues? I tend to not oil my scalp as much bc it usually makes it worse. I big chopped in March maybe but I'm definitely growing it out now. I have been getting braids as of recently but they never last more than a month for me because of my scalp.
If oiling your scalp irritates it, skip that step. Massaging it daily is the most important step anyway while making sure your hair stays moisturized throughout the week.
BESTIE, THIS IS THE CHALLENGE OF CHALLENGES! EVERYBODY IS GETTING INCHES OF GROWTH WITH THIS ONE! 😭🥳
Hair grows faster in the summer.

Great tips!! When are you restocking sis? 😍
Dermaroller irritates my scalp and also my hair gets caught in the needles. Also my scalp cannot tolerate oils on it unless it’s properly washed off

Hello, I hope you're doing well! I have a question I was hoping you could help me with. Could you please explain why deep condition before shampooing, especially when the hair is dirty? Wouldn't it be more effective to shampoo first and then apply the deep conditioner? Thank you so much for your insight!
She uses it as a Mask or what most RUclipsr call a prepoo. It makes the hair more pliable for detangling (less breakage) before washing.
