I freakin love my rural king! They have everything i love to do...fishing, hunting, target shooting, trapping, turkeys, tools, boots, welding, its got all a country boy can ever want and the baby livestock brings in the beautiful country ladies haha
One idea-Test different brands of senkos. Catch one on each brand, and see which ones catch them quicker, or something like that. Having the family is always good.

Honestly brother, that rod and reel doesn't look like a terrible combo. It almost reminds me of my Shimano Nasci, or a Lew's with an Ugly Stik. I recently bought some of the real old school Garcia Mitchell 300A, 301, and 303, and a Mitchell 1160 RD reels off of eBay and although they were all disassembled, cleaned, and greased, they are absolutely mechanical and tough, where new reels like my Shimanos or even some of my Lew's move like fluid and are so smooth and quiet. It's crazy how far technology has come in the last 10 years alone. Back in the mid to late 90s you had to have an internet connection (which I obviously did, but no cell phone until 2001), and $750 to have a reel as smooth as the newest Shimanos. I have both the Curado K as well as the DC and I absolutely LOVE them, but back in the mid to late 90s I was a kid and it was all about the Quantums Snapshots, Mitchells, and the bigger saltwater Shakespeares (I grew up near Tampa, Florida in Brandon). You HAVE to admit that we are spoiled nowadays because even the cheapest Mitchells and Shakespeares have one or more ball bearings. I don't really know how old you are, but your kid is about as old as my oldest and I'm 36, so you have to be roundabout my age. I believe you said in that video with that dork that tried to chase off you and your boys that you're in your early 30s then, so you've got to be probably 33, or 34 by now, so you have to know exactly what I'm talking about. Back then, I was limited to whatever was for sale at the local Brandon Walmart on Bloomingdale Blvd or local bait shops (and their selection was never much better).

That is a citadel tsunami rod and reel which comes with 12lb test line. It's actually an awesome combo. I personally use this as my all around combo and I most saltwater fish. It holds up exceptionally well

I've heard tales of people claiming to have caught fish throwing candy gummy worms, gummy bears, pieces of tin foil on a Texas Rig and other assortments of home made stuff like that. Maybe you guys could compete against each other throwing obscure stuff like that.

I know the video is older but that bitsy minnow is one of my go-to lures when I'm not catching much or I want to see what's in new water. Last week I caught three bass, two crappie, a few gills, and went cast for cast almost on white perch on one. The lure is beat up but still getting bites.
Rural King is a great store. Most of the ones here in SW Indiana are in old Kmart locations. Sometimes I go there just for the popcorn and to browse the store. I've bought a lot of fishing gear there too.
Rural King is the best thing since sliced bread. My roommate and I visit the location in Terra Haute, IN every time we go up on vacation. I wish we could one here in Lake Charles, LA already.

You should do an ollies outlet fishing challenge. I know there is one in Prattville but there is probably one closer. They have so many great lures that are REALLY CHEAP. They also have rods and reels
