I always liked roller blading and on my ninth birthday I had a bday party at a rink. (It’s was my first time) I loved it so much that I started lessons.
I’m now twelve.
I did take a year long break during quarantine (my place shut down) but I started back up and I’m getting better each class!

To all figure skaters when your doing your turns do y’all spot like Ik dancers spot but is that what y’all do if not what do you do to not get dizzy
We don't spot. At first you will get very dizzy but you will get used to it with a lot of practice

I mean I’ve been skating for ten years and I still get dizzy while doing spins (especially combos) but yea.. we spin way to fast to spot

Personally unless I do scratch spin (Fastest spin) I never get dizzy at all. I am a spinner though so I spin all the time and since the more you spin the less dizzy you guess get it makes sense

I feel like she redefined figure skating! Like you don’t have to be super delicate you can be strong and still go out and strut your stuff ✨
There were always more athletic ladies. Tonya harding, Surya Bonlay, Midori Ito and most recently Alexandra Trusova come to mind. Amber also doesn't have the best technique, but a majority of skaters have cheated takeoffs these days soooo

You don’t have to start really young, you can start whenever :)
Though, I’ve been told that Olympics is something you’d have to start young for, otherwise you can start whenever

It's never too late to start!
Ice skating has always been my dream since I was little and I would love to try it. But unfortunately there is no ice rink nearby since it is not a well-known sport in my country and my parents never let me as they wanted me to concentrate on my studies.
I love watching these videos because I can see how happy these people are doing what they like most in life, which is skating and I can see that happiness from the screen and their happiness makes me smile.
I am already 15 and I feel that it is a little late for me, but when I become independent I will not hesitate to start ice skating courses even if it is too late

Have you ever thought about roller figure skating?(inline or quads)
The sport is the same we just have wheels instead of blades. It can be a good option if you have any smooth and flat surfaces near you or even a roller rink! Skates are as expensive but you are more free to skate whenever and wherever you want as long as you have great floor and space to practice on. Hope this helps😉 And as we always say: It is never to late to start!
as an ice skater, I really love skating it’s so exciting and fun! if you dream to become an ice skater, for sure try it! don’t get disappointed if you don’t even know how to move on the ice, everything comes in the right time. before I became an ice skater, I used to dream on becoming one and I really achieved my dream so don’t forget to always follow your dreams!

I figure skaters realize a lot of people say that figure skating is a gentle, very easy sometimes and you know sometimes it’s annoying because those are the people you gotta go up to and say you were so wrong this sport can be gentle, but it is dangerous. It is not easy And it takes determination and a lot of us skaters have that so if you’re gonna say oh, this is easy, I could do it get a pair of skates and try going on the ice and doing what we can do. I’m a 10 year old girl I’ve had people say this beforeand figure skaters just have to prove them wrong

I love skating! I am fairly new, I have only been doing it for the past couple of months or so, but it’s been a blast so far. I live in Miami FL, so the closest rink is still a drive, but it’s all been worth it as of yet! Excited to do more.

i’m starting ice skating lessons ina few days, i just wanted to ask everyone, if ur good at rollerblading will it help when ice skating? i am decent at moving on my rollerblades (tho i can’t rlly stop on them lmao) and wanted to know if i continue to practice on my rollerblades if it will also help me ice skate better, since my lessons are only once a week but i’d like to still practice more than that!

Look into artistic roller skating! It's not exactly the same as ice skating, but just as fun. If you wanna get close to the on ice experience I'd recommend artistic inline skates, but I don't know if quad skates are more common. Either way I highly recommend trying.
I did an ice skating class when I was young but I couldn't advance because I ran instead of gliding 😂

I don't do ice skating but I do roller skating😊 and I can tell you we do a lot of these moves so it's basically ice skating just not on ice and instead of a blade we have wheels

Try looking into artistic roller skating instead! It may be a bit different, but you do pretty much the same elements and it's very fun to do.
Have a competition soon and this pops up, funny how the world works.

If you really wanna do figure skating look into artistic roller skating! It's a lot more common in tropical countries. If you're looking for an experience as close as possible to ice I'd recommend artistic inline skating, but there's also people who do artistic roller skating on quads.
