Wow!!!! That's my beautiful hometown. You are probably one of the very few Japanese RUclipsrs that explored more places in Jonker Street compared to others. Unfortunately your trip was too short and there are plenty more to explore in Melaka and their famous local food like the Malay food, Chinese, Baba Nyonya, Portuguese and Indian food too. Historically, Jonker was a town where many traders from most part of other countries would meet n trade their goods back in the 1500 years simply because there's a port nearby. The place where u can purchase the river cruises was previously a huge warehouse and the opposite location which is the hotel now too. The port activities was still active till back in the 1980's until the Melaka government decided to change it into a tourism spots/ attractions . The Chinese temple ( Cheng Hoon Teng ) is the oldest temple in Malaysia. Not many tourists are aware of it. It was built by a Chinese Kapitan n maintained by a few more Kapitans over the years. If u notice that the same row road there's a Chinese temple, Mosque and Indian temple. It is known as a Harmony Street. And the opposite of the river is the St. Francis Xavier Church. Historically it had proved that we all live in harmony as a multicultural society. Daily Fix Cafe is one of the favourites among tourists and the locals too. If u love Baba Nyonya curry laksa and cendol , please try it at Baba Low Restaurant. U will definitely love it. The owner is from the Baba Nyonya family for generations. Lion dance is very common in Melaka too besides during the Chinese New year period. It normally held during opening ceremony and celebrations days. A good walk at the Dutch Square n places around it. U should walk till the other side where the A Famosa Fort is located. Nearby there is a museum n u can get lots of information n understanding about our Melaka history. Plenty of good n reasonable prices of Hotel choices n using Grab as your transportation will be very useful as it helps you to go to more places to enjoy n saving time too. The charges are very cheap too for the tourists. Local bus services is not as good as in KL. The shopping complexes that u have been n the shoplots that u were walking around was previously a sea. It was converted into a reclaimed land. Please try to stay at least 3 days n 2 nights in the future n try most of the famous local food like Asam Pedas, mee rebus, ikan bakar Serkam, fried oyster, popiah, wan tan mee, Taiwan Noodles, Duck Noodles, Dim sum, Satay Celup and wonderful Baba Nyonya and Portuguese dishes too. U will definitely love it. Also not to forget to travel to other places like Penang, Langkawi, Ipoh, Kota Kinabalu and our beautiful islands like Redang, Tioman, Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Sipidan and many more. These are the world class beautiful Islands. Happy holidays and safe journey.

Nice experience. Its a rare opportunity to see lion dance except on Chinese/Lunar New Year season. They must have celebrating something big like grand opening or something to have the lion dance troupe coming.

Additional information. Please don't not visit the earlier mentioned Islands during our monsoon season ( Oct till Dec) . Please visit our beautiful Highlands too like the Genting Highlands and Cameron Highlands. U will experience wonderful cool weather and happening places especially at the Genting Highlands. There is the indoor and outdoor theme park which is something like the USJ ( Universal Studio of Japan) in Osaka. Remember to bring along your jacket as it can be very cold especially at night.
