Toby's was too corny for any real emotion connection, and Tom's was too manufactured and detached to feel anything. Andrews spiderman didn't require every single thing he had to be handed to him (like stark) and he wasn't just given ornate powers with no real direction (Toby's). He made everything he used by himself. Not to mention he had the best relationship.
