Barbara, you are proof that the struggle is real and that we should have the stick-to-itiveness to complete these fun prompts.😂Thanks for the clip and rivets freebie! Yours turned out so cute! 🤗🥰
This is so adorable! Thanks for walking thru all the stencil fiasco! It is really helpful to see what works and what doesn’t. Really loving this project! 🤗❤️ Tamara
Barbara, I make stencils all the time from just regular 100lb cardstock. After using the stencil I allow the ink or paint to dry as it further strengthens the stencil. My stencils last a really long time and it is easy to recut if needed. Since I have gotten my Silhouette Cameo cutter, I no longer hand draw my stencils, instead design them using my Silhouette Design program that came with my camio and then cut them on the camio cutter.
Barbara, you are amazing artist and very persistent too. Love all your creations. This video is very helpful when creating stencils. Today project is amazing.Thank you for beautiful freebie❤
Barbara: well, it was touch and go there for awhile. However, as usual, your creative efforts paid off. It turned out fabulous! I never lose faith in you. Carol from California
I love your notepad, it’s so very cute! And I so appreciate you letting us watch all processes even when they do not work quite as expected! Your videos are such a kind gift to us all. I really appreciate the gift of your time and talents. Thank you!
The notepad is wonderful! And your “not quite circles” stencil make awesome rocks. The fishy cover additions look like sunlight on water & your fish escaping a fishing line shimmering in the sunlight, snickering as he leaps away from it.
You have the cutest giggle! I love watching you work thru different little challenges that come along. You never give up and I really admire that! Your projects are always a winner at the finish! Thanks for sharing!
I hold stuff up to a window to trace. Lol. I have also made a light box, taking apart a old bed scanner and took the guts out of it and inserted a LED light strip in it. I enjoyed watching this.
I am pleased you persevered with the stencil making, I had no idea where to start, so much useful information in this tutorial. Thank you for sharing it all. Hugs from down under.
What a beautiful result despite all the struggles. Thank you for being so honest and showing what can go wrong as well as the seemingly 'easy' bits. Great teaching! Xx
Let us see your desk, please! It will make us feel normal hahah! Enjoying all your videos, hard work and the series. I am on holiday for the month and it’s killing me that I can’t go to my studio and MAKE EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW 😂
I always appreciate seeing the things that do not go as planned...it can be as helpful and sometimes even more helpful in the learning process! Your finished notepad is wonderful! Very creative idea!
With my die cut machine Big Shot. I sometimes have to put a sheet of copy paper or card stock for extra pressure on thin substrates. Great end result! Beautiful snow view in your opening! ❤️👏🏻✌🏻😘 you are such a trouper! Never give up!❤️❤️
OMGoodnes, someone gave me that action craft knife … i throw it out, it is not holding the blade properly …. Sometimes it is true, “goedkoop is duurkoop”. Meaning what is bought cheap turns out expensive. But …. You handled the problem in the end. Thanks for sharing your struggles ….
I MUST make a clipboard like this for my journal! I'm glad you didn't have the die-cut yet... I've done quite a few stencils and yep they are a lot of work, even with a heat tool that is supposed to melt the edges (it does, but left rebarbs/raised plastic edges around the design). At one point you were cutting in the best way I found which was to move the plastic to make curves... (keeping the blade, as much as possible, in place). I've seen a new style blade advertised, supposedly it rotates 360 degrees to make smooth curves... - I think Fyskars has them. Regardless, your project looks really adorable! AND if it were not glued down might be a nice bookboard to use behind a 'bumpy or very uneven page' one might want to write on :-)
Okay Barbara, I love so many things about this video! I love that you show us your struggles cutting the plastic to make stencils. I love that you try out using some that you think didn't work, like your handcut "circles." I love how cute they ended up being in spite of all the challenges. I love your notepad idea and your handmade binder clip--thanks for the freebie(!!) but even more thanks for showing us what you do when you don't have the right die cut. I love that you "messed up" with your embossing and then showed us your solution. It's so helpful to see how you manage all the little things that don't go as intended. That show true creativity. The end product is adorable too! Vielen Dank!
I've seen smaller sized binder clip dies as part of one of the Elizabeth Craft planner die sets. Of course, it wouldn't be half as interesting as watching you make things from scratch!
Barbara - another clever piece of art! Love the results of the rectangle and small bubbles stencils as well as the clipboard and clip. Thanks so much for the freebie. Definitely gonna try that. Also, I have to tell you that I've always marveled at how neat and tidy you keep your workspace. Today we all learned the secret, but I really dont believe you just push all the mess out of the way of the camera!
Thank you, Barbara, for showing us the beautiful snow. While it is still cold where I live in the Blue Mtns near Sydney in Australia, the maximum is around 16 degree celsius; apparently, summer is arriving on Christmas Eve, when the temperature will jump to 31 degrees celsius. Not what I wished for but at least it shouldn't be raining. Love the notepad you made - it's adorable.
Barbara, I love it when you share with us when you're trying something and it doesn't work out the way you planned, because I think we learn from our mistakes and from other's mistakes, so thank you for that. My tip/idea for you... plastic bends, so I think if you put a pice of paper or light yardstick behind/underneath the plastic and them the die, run it through 2 or more times, and that may help it go through the plastic better.
Loved watching you work this out!!!!! The stencils were great! I really thought the color would run when you spritzed the water on the paper. The clipboard is spot on! Great video!!!!!!!
So fantastic to see you experimenting with the stencils. I love your notepad, it really turned out great! I've been so busy making cards and gifts my small workspace has to be cleaned between projects. It's been only enough cleaning to get me a space to work the current project. You are so amazing, stay strong!
Absolutely adorable!! I was wondering how your handmade stencils would turn out, and they're positively lovely!! Thank you for this really cool download! I can't wait to use it! See you tomorrow 😊
I believe you can cut thru that plastic with the die cuts if you put a piece of card stock behind it. I love everything you do! You are so creative!! Thank you for all of the inspiration!!!
Oh, Barbara…I love your clipboard pocket! Just a suggestion for the stencils with small borders…if you fold tape around the outside, you can increase the border, so you don’t have to worry about getting ink on the outside of the stencil ❤
Oh, my goodness! I think this one might be beyond my scope of talent! I love your rectangles though because they look very mid-century modern which is my newest favorite thing!
It's counter intuitive, but the machine has a more difficult time cutting flexible material (like a page protector) than it does stiff material. I would try thick acetate. Because it can't be recycled, I've been hoarding all kinds of acetate thinking it surely would be useful for *something,* right?! And voilà! Also, thank you for showing the trial and error process. Going from ideas to reality often involves a lot of discarded errors and that can seem frustrating and even wasteful. "Ugh, I'll never be a creative person like [insert name of person you imagine is just naturally talented and who just magically whips everything together]."
Thinking, you could try to put papers on both sides of the plastic to run your dies to the machine. Gonna give that a try myself. Or just use a thicker paper and have a paper stencil.
Talking about the stencil material.. don’t forget, if you have any old xrays you don’t need anymore.. these are also perfect for stencils. :) they’re heavy duty, and they last forever!
Ok, so I need to make one of these to my journal! (of course I already made my for today and then I watch your video... :D ). Really love the process and the outcome. :) And, thank you so much for the fab freebie! :)
Hello Barbara👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 what a cute die cut I love it your project. That is great how you and Luise kept your notepads flap I’m so impressed. Great job. Merry Christmas
The more I see you creating art in this journal the more I want to have it back 😂❤️ awwwww!
We can trade again 😃
Barbara, you are proof that the struggle is real and that we should have the stick-to-itiveness to complete these fun prompts.😂Thanks for the clip and rivets freebie! Yours turned out so cute! 🤗🥰
This is so adorable! Thanks for walking thru all the stencil fiasco! It is really helpful to see what works and what doesn’t. Really loving this project! 🤗❤️ Tamara
I love the way you make a plan and not giving up.. beautiful love your note pad x

Oh Barbara, you have such tenacity! That clipboard turned out so cute.💙
Oh Barbara. I have so much admiration for you. In showing us how 'not to do it', you actually validate all of us who try and learn. 💖
I love your notepad, it’s so very cute! And I so appreciate you letting us watch all processes even when they do not work quite as expected! Your videos are such a kind gift to us all. I really appreciate the gift of your time and talents. Thank you!

I just love it when you need something so you just make it with what you have like this clip board. Perfect! Cute!
Die Schablonen sind doch super geworden. Der Notizblock ist ein Träumchen. LG Sabine
You’re showing us not to give up. Absolutely amazing 🤩🤩🤩
No matter the prompt, you make something unique and lovely! 🦋🦋🦋
You have the cutest giggle! I love watching you work thru different little challenges that come along. You never give up and I really admire that! Your projects are always a winner at the finish! Thanks for sharing!

You can use cardstock to make a stencil as well. It may not last forever, but it's so much easier to cut.
Thank you for showing us your challenges! ...and Luiza owes you dinner and a movie!
I am pleased you persevered with the stencil making, I had no idea where to start, so much useful information in this tutorial. Thank you for sharing it all. Hugs from down under.
This is where a cricut comes in handy. Am really enjoying today's video.
What a beautiful result despite all the struggles. Thank you for being so honest and showing what can go wrong as well as the seemingly 'easy' bits. Great teaching! Xx
Stencils! Stencils! Stencils! Oh my goodness -- You have a wonderful result....thank you for sharing!
The ID punch looks like large stitches! That could be fun on projects.

Love this!! Very sweet, and pretty flat for your almost full journal.
Cute little notepad. It goes so perfect on that page that it looks like they were designed together.

Turned out cute! I think I'll go the punched holes way! Lol! TFS 🤗
I like all the stencils you made. Including the circles that weren't quite circles.

It was nice to watch you Barbara coming up with this idea .
Barbara, what a neat clip board! Love it! TFS! ❤️
Hello Barbara, enjoyed your experiment in making the stencils, love how it came out. TFS
I love that notepad! super cute! I've never made a stencil. Now I'm intrigued.
Such a cute little project, I haven’t had much success making a stencil yet, maybe I will try again now 😊

Well, i tried and it did not work, all it does is that it gives a nice impression in the plastic. #49dragonflies
And the page with the blue bubbles are a perfect place
Love your handmade stencils! Great to watch you experiment with making them.
Amazing Barbara. Love how you never give up!!

Like the paper clamp idea, I hope I can make a decent stencil. I'm a little afraid of my craft knife.
Pls be careful using it! ❤️
