Wale was very respectable towards Meek, idk if Meek watched this whole interview, or he just listened to a soundbite but clearly Wale was in his corner. Meek just burning bridges and relationships for no reason smh.

Meek has every right to be upset. If Wale is/was apart of MMG he should have never entertained this topic, at all. Especially since he stated that he and Meek never discussed the issue. How can Wale say that Meek was probably on the drink or gassed up cause he with Nicki? And also that what Meek did wasn't a "good thing". Wale doesn't know Meek's reasoning. A more loyal and honest reply to the question should've been, "No disrespect to any of you but I haven't heard Meek's side of the story. So without personally talking to him about it, I can not speak on this issue." But Wale wasn't man enough to stand up because he wanted 105.1 to play his cd's, that's what he kept stressing. The world didn't need to know that he tried calling Meek and Meek didn't answer. Sounds like Wale was upset about that. Why would Meek answer his calls, after Wale posted a pic of him and Drake together? It could have been a setup. Meek is from the real streets, where even your homie will smile in your face while setting you up at the same time. Other than Meek himself, Ross, being the head of MMG, should be the only one publicly speaking on the issue. That eliminates mixed messages and personal opinions coming from the team.

R we really going to pretend like wale didn't joke about his life ? These are the early signs that we need to pay attention to . Let's give him the attention he deserves , he's a great artist , a great spokesperson for the community and he cares for the community . Let's support artist that support the community , such as jcole, Kendrick and wale !

  • @Shashayaway

His music haven't reached the masses ( white America) because it praises black women and its a lil just a tad to conscious, anything PPP related will get u goin in the right direction, add rihanna or nicki on it

+hi bro. Wale has a urban swag about him that kendrick dont really have, i dont know how to explain and its more than likely not the main reason but kendrick to me seems lk the black kid in the cafeteria that was the token blk guy to all the white ppl, overall just accepted more so than wale, if that example makes any sense

if I may add to my previous response......who owns ALL the record companies? yes you maybe guessed my answer is white people. I don't really listen to rap (more of a reggae lady) .so I'm more neutral. what white man is going to spend his money for a black(African at that) man to uplift his women and community? um the answer is none. now I don't listen to my kings Fetty and Future but I feel they should be promoted just as heavily as Wale. but then again Wale isn't talking about getting "head from becky" and trapping. those are topics which make it easier for black men and black women to divide-thus making it easier for society to erase people of color. just my opinion though

I know what he means, there's artistes that literally just came out like a month ago and got a hit song that plays 24/7. He's been grinding for years and got no type of love like drake j cole Kendrick. He's been trying his best too. Maybe it's his style of rap or no one understands his references. There are times where im like wtf is he talking about or referring to ? He should just make a chicken noodle for the soul poetry book.

But that's MMG/Atlantic Records fault. They control what songs Wale put out. His singles are usually love ballads. But his best tracks are on his mixtapes. Take a listen & hear the difference in his lyrics & content.

      i blame his flow.

    • @imsteezy1
      @imsteezy1 8 лет назад +23

Drake, Jcole, & Kendrick all have more control over what music they put out, where Wale's label choose what songs for him to put out or they won't give it a push, & he doesn't have the fan base to where he could drop something & people will flock to it like 'If Your Reading This Its Too Late'. Another thing I think hurts Wale is his slang & flow is hard to understand at times for a first time listener

  • @Vempsterful

Drake didn't win on the support of Apple, with the internet you can deliver anything for an audience to catch wind, and you can't say Meek had less of it when in fact they all were waiting on him. Why Meek lost was his slow response to 2 diss records, countless missed opportunities and that his delivery was no way as ear catching as the work Drake put out, facts.

    • @geraldjordan6419

Gerald Jordan You could put both men in having the same popularity and what Drake said lyrically, and the beats sounded better than whatever Meek did. So in affect, Drakes popularity played no part in.

what he's saying about Drake and Meek thing is so true, I live in Paris France and here they market Drake like they would do for a nicki Minaj, a Taylor Swift or like they did Iggy (like POP Stars). Here you have peoples that can't even speak or understand english and don't go see the translations but were going with Drake cause POPular and it was tranding to diss Meek so peoples did it just to make themselfs feel cool. Drake have that Zionnist power pushing him so no matter what Meek did it was over when started with Drake (not in the same leagues).

+KingShasa243 Bro I would understand if people didn't want meek to win. before back to back it was a consensus that drake lost people was saying it was over. Then nothing was the same after back to back the whole perception changed drake came out stronger as back to back like meek mill was a sacrificial lamb to the rap God's to increase his reign. An this is coming from a meek supporter.

I put this on my grandmother's grave. I went to my first Gogo concert in Winston around 06/07 with my friends from DC but I'm from NC and that's when Wale was in that group. After the show everyone was out on the side of the building talking and of course my friends being from DC knew some people from his, Wale band and another act that performed. I was talking to my friends when I see this guy, about 5'6 or 5'7 with these dreads still above chin length approach me and ask me my name. I gave it to him and asked "and you are?" his reply, "You don't know my name?" and I said "No" I honestly didn't know, I'm from a country town in North Carolina but my swag not country. However, he goes "I'm Wale!!!" "How do you not know my name?" and I'm an equally smart mouth "Because I don't" than this bop chick that my girls knew said "I know who you are" and that's when he turned away and she ran after him. So you would think that I assume that's he's cocky and aggressive or that I'm about to call him a jerk. After that night I listened to some of his music and understood what was in front of me was an artist that believes in himself and is passionate about his messages and gift and that drives him and encourages him to make sure that everyone knows his name. I'm not resentful from that moment of a brief exchange. Seeing his transitions, growth, even the shade people throw at him for his temperament, I get it but it has been beautiful to watch and I just pray that he continues to prosper.

I think Twitter aided a HUGE part in why a lot of people call him trash. I remember a few years back when people would actually listen to his songs without a problem, but then when a few "twitter famous😒" people started calling him trash, a lot more people hopped on the bandwagon.. It's pretty messed up because I enjoy his music and the message behind his songs. But, it's just a lot of followers in this generation and it's sad. One day people will appreciate this man and his music, but whatever.

I always thought his music was highly underrated because he is almost never mentioned in the same breath with his peers, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole, and he is just as talented if not more. I just pray homie gets some much needed therapy because depression is not something that should be taking lightly or as a laughing matter.
