From what I have gathered watching the news, the top linking word to express contrast is 'though'. Native speakers like to use it at the end of a sentence which is sort of counter-intuitive for non natives and needs a lot of practise to be used that way. To be honest, I have never seen 'Mind you' on the news, documentaries or on other English stuff or at least I can't recall it.
Come to think of it,,,,you are not only a teacher ....In my opinion ,,you are some GODLY person with the supernatural power to make any student cling to your lessons till the last second ..World's BEST TEACHER I would recommend
