How to Hide and Unhide Files in External Hard Drive and USB Flash Drive

So say you ran the code to hide a folder in the portable hard drive. If you disconnected the hard drive and then plugged it back in would the folder stay hidden until you used the code to unhide the folder. Or does the hide folder reset itself when the portable hard drive is ejected? Regards, Mark
