You are so welcome ❤️. And I'm giving you the permission to not be perfect 😊🥰. Just let it go, it's time. You know how much lighter and brighter you will feel after, and what ever you do you will enjoy it so much more. Much love ❤️
Thank you!!! This perfectionism keeps me from even starting on my jewelry! I procrastinate too much! I appreciate your insight! The necklace turned out……perfect 😊
You're very welcome and thank you ❤️ 😊. Iknow exactly where you're coming from, been there so many times, even now knowing all these things, I still catch myself wanting to go that route. I used to struggle so much because the tremor was a huge issue at the time, so it kept me from not creating anything for far too long. I wish you create something small today, or whenever you feel ready, and that would be meaningful to you reminding you how this one time you actually won over procrastination. I think that would be a huge help to you and a step towards knowing yourself a little better. You only need to do it enough times to start believing in yourself a bit more, then it will flow, and you won't question it so much. 😊
I’m so glad to hear that! It’s freeing when we can let go of that need for perfection. Thank you for sharing this-it means a lot to know the video helped you. You’re so welcome! 🤗
OMG, your timing is soooo perfect for me! I've been struggling with "mistakes" lately and it's sapped some of my enthusiasm for creating new jewelry designs. I especially loved that we shouldn't compare our process with the "perfection" of final products. You're so wise! Thank you for this.
You are sooo very welcome 🤗, and yes such a common thing, especially between artists. I guess it's not just about getting stronger crafting skills but also stronger mindset and finding ways to "get up" again 😊. Maybe take a little break from it, or make something you love making, and try perfect that, just to switch it up a bit and see if that sparks something 😉. Have a wonderful day ❤️
Real talk! I so struggle with perfectionism too! 1000%! Especially when it comes to sharing my work with others. Or making a piece for someone. I get really in my head trying to not only come up with the “perfect”design but then to create the design perfectly! Honestly, it really stifles me, and end up giving up on half my pieces and starting a new piece! I’m learning that for me, a lot of my perfectionism stems from an underlying feeling of “not good enough” or “I’ll be good enough when _____”! A friend recently shared a great quote with me: “perfection is the enemy of good.” Or in my case the enemy of “finishing” or not even attempting a design for fear I don’t possess the necessary skills. I’m a self-taught metalsmith very much still learning. I have a full-time job and kiddos so the time I have for metalsmithing is quite limited. It can sometimes feel like the learning is taking FOREVER! I have all these ideas but don’t necessarily know how to execute them! When I get stuck in that thought-process I try to remember that there’s a time for everything. A time for learning, a time for knowing. A time for being ahead and a time for being behind…etc. I really needed to see this video! I truly appreciate you sharing such an honest and vulnerable piece of yourself with us! Not the typical “highlight reel” that we see so often, but your “behind the scenes”! I watched any of your videos and I really admire how freely you approach your creative process. I hope to get there one day. I’m working on it. ☺️😬🙏🏼
I really needed to hear this ❤

I appreciate this comment so much ❤️! I replied you under the other video 🤗.
How do you handle perfectionism in your own creative process? Do you find it helps or holds you back?
