Gosh..best uncle and nephew in the whole big bad world...what a kid this Rafa... he amazes me in every way... This talk must be subtitled...in english at least... 6:22 to 7:35... the purple of his shirt reflects from his eyes... great visual effect...
wow ... i can see they have a beautiful relationship even thought i have no idea what they are talking about ... both of them evokes a very unique charm of innocence and kind-heartedness ..
So Nadal's mostly right-handed for most functions and as a child he played tennis 2-handed until age 10. They decided to transition him to playing left-handed because it was the dominant hand in the stroke production. Also, the decision was made to transition to playing with just one hand, because at the time and historically speaking, no top 10 player in the men's game was 2-handed. That and my previous comment gives you the 1st 6 minutes of the video.
10 minute interview. Too long to translate, but worth it. Learn Spanish. It starts out with uncle Toni punking his nephew Rafa, first by making him think he's some kind of mage/wizard/clairvoyant by criticizing an opponent of Lendl's, hoping he'll quit for playing so poorly against Lendle, in a tape-delayed match (Rafa didn't know the match was tape-delayed; uncle Toni new the results in advance) which resulted in the opponent retiring in the match due to injury, and the game before the opponent retires from the match, while both he and Rafa are watching it on TV, uncle Toni says something to the effect of "this guy is playing like he's injured, he should retire rather than play so poorly...". Of course, sure enough that happens and it freaks Rafa out, and he's telling his grandmother about what his uncle did... Another time he relates how as a child, uncle Toni would make Rafa think that he could turn him invisible (that's at 2:06). This would happen at the weekend family meals, and everybody else would play along acting like Rafa was, in fact, invisible lol. Okay, I gave you the first 25%, somebody else needs to contribute lol.
@@MrVpassenheim wow such a mean uncle to cheat his little boy like that :-) and the family joining in the game...but poor Rafa...he is so innocent...in these matters...they easily fooled him... or may be they think they did :-) kids are very shgarp...
