Context analysis is a process that checks whether an IT vulnerability is actually active in a specific system or not. This is because you want to decide whether the effort to close this security gap makes sense from a technical point of view. A wide range of parameters are considered to create the image as completely as possible. Configurations, method calls, data flow analysis, and much more are applied. However, one must remember that this is a static analysis. It is also of great importance that there will only be meaningful results if you look at the entire tech stack used in this analysis. This is the only way to see whether, for example, specific ports will be open in the attacked system.
All in all, this results in an essential tool with which the decision-making process is strongly supported so that the available effort can be used most effectively to achieve the highest possible level of security in the affected system.
