Yeeeesss! I've been anticipating this from you ever since I found your channel like 2 years ago :O It's finally here, I'm so happy :D Bought the absolutes myself about a month back, and I'm in awe of them :)
The original hardcover versions of Sandman were some of the first hardcovers I collected. My entire collection fit on one shelf above my bed. Simpler times. I miss fanzines like those, I had lots and lots of them but never heard of Musings before. I'm glad I experienced the world pre-internet so I can appreciate such things.
I forgot to mention that there was a discussion in a group about these binding problems and someone pointed out this special book binding glue that is acid free or something and safe for books. Here's a link to the US Amazon page for it, maybe you can find it over there. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0025TZ26Q/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_7?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
thanks for the tip ... btw: in the video you can see my future nerdcave come into being. I still have my work 2 1/2 hours by car away from here, but I decided to move my stuff up here anyway... slowly but steadily.
I once read that those who possess the black tomes of the Dreaming are said to be cursed by madness. A madness which most people initially confuse with a general interest in artistic fields. Later symptoms include becoming obsessed with stories, art and music. Finally they begin to converse to the creatures and things which reside within their amassed collections. The visions and voices come softly at night. I'm sitting here with the shadows of TinTin and Constantine and they are saying "Don't worry, it's just a story. Books can't be cursed" As the sun screamed and turned black, I said to them "I'm afraid I own them all" : )
I have the box set of Sandman (volumes 1-10) and the new coloring is nice, but I wanted the original. I'm happy you have the originals. Thanks again for another great video.
The omnibuses look too big tbh. The absolutes are themselves already huge, the omnibuses are thicker. They seem harder to read from BUT they're cheaper. So it really depends on your price point vs how much and/or how you want to read them. Your comment is already 8 months old. I would like to know if you managed to get any of the releases and how are they.
@@weichiang89 I opted for the Absolutes. They are much more comfortable to read. I think they look better then the omnibuses as well ecspecially the spines. They look great on my shelf. No regrets here glad I went for the Absolutes over the omnibus.
I have finally found a way to get her to appreciate my madness (read: love of comic books). I told her it's her inheritance and that lots of the books dominating our livingroom are worth quite a bit. I just hope she doesn't get any strange ideas if you know what I mean :)

One of the greatest joys of collections like ours is new shelves and organizing them. As nerdy as it gets.

... one day I'll do a book with my favorite comments... this one will be definitely in it.

Beautiful books, Earl Grey. As you showed them I realized the series is endless, like Don Quixote or The Divine Comedy.
I love this series its my second favourite after Preacher. Still in two minds about whether to get the absolutes or the omnibus.
Absolutes

That is one impressive Sandman collection. My wife would strangle me if I bought those absolutes as well.
.... I survived just by an hair's breadth :/

wouldn't work with my beloved... she's too convinced that the stuff can't be worth sth
Say it ain't so!
ha! you'll try :)
I wanna start Sandman
Overtune is in the wrong spot. You can't read that first! Also, The Absolute collection is literally the best way to own Sandman.
I put Overture first because of the chronology of the story... not because of a suggested reading order & I agree: you should not start there
I own all the Absolutes AND the Silver Anniversary Omnibus
you have won :)
