Final minutes of Halo 3 matchmaking with comms

On the final day of Halo 3's matchmaking (Thursday 13th January, 2022) at 17:59 (GMT), I matched into a game of Team Slayer on Valhalla. Around 3 minutes in a team mate caught wind that the servers had been closed, this would be our last ever match. Due to proximity chat we were able to inform the other team. Thank you for the memories.
Comms start around 1:05. Xbox Game DVR is limited to around 4 minutes, so sped up parts of the match I was unable to capture live (which were instead captured in theatre mode). Also my microphone is not recorded.

The classic Halo 2, 3, and Reach never deserved to have their MP servers sunsetted, but they were fun while they lasted. I know MCC tried to preserve these games, but it's not the same without everyone trash-talking and laughing about plays made in the moment, or pre-match lobbies.

Damn... hearing "5 minutes remaining" usually means something so... normal in Halo, but given the context? It's sad. We all heard a guy sigh after, probably feeling the same thing. Five minutes. Five minutes until the entirety of Halo 3, Reach and 4's multiplayers are gone. And then it happens.

I played halo 3 again before it was gone and damn was it fun, I left it on overnight and when I came back in the morning to see that my beloved halo 3 multiplayer would never be as it was in 2007 at launch, the population will be 0 for the rest of time and will be void of any light.

When I heard Halo 3 was being shutdown I started playing again, It was as fun as I remembered. Day of shutdown, I had to work... I no joke teared up when I couldn't get into a game:(
