    I had my stuff stolen at a hostel today. Had the tiny lock, and the thief just bent it right open, no problem. Use bigger locks!

    Great advice! Especially about bringing locks! The Bike lock idea is brilliant! Usually I end up buying locks from the hostels themselves.

      Good idea, I didn't think to ask if hostels had locks!

    NEVER use a TSA travel lock on anything except your luggage going through customs. The keys are readily available for purchase online and plans to 3-D print the keys also exist. In addition, almost all can be easily defeated in seconds by cutting, simple raking, or shimming.

    Thank you so much for the great tips! I’m a person who is super paranoid and weary of losing items (mainly because I hardly ever lose items). So traveling alone and going to places where theft is more common scares me. I will definitely get these locks!

    I was just talking about bike locks being better that regular wire locks since they are usually thicker and cheap to get as well. Use it every where I go. Great vid!!

    Thank you so much!! This is exactly the info I've been looking for and needed! Would you say that most hostels need a padlock smaller than the blue one in the video? I initially thought one of those wire cable TSA locks would be a great idea but now I'm not so sure, like you said the wire could easily be cut, and I was told recently that the TSA master keys that unlock them can easily be bought online very cheap and that its not uncommon for criminals in areas with a lot of travelers to carry them and open those locks.

    hello, how many countries have you visited? which countries didn't you like? what are the obstacles have you encountered traveling in foreign countries?

    • @noellealexander2908
      @noellealexander2908  6 лет назад +1

      Hello, thanks for asking! I went to 24 countries and 34 cities on my trip; I think all of the countries I went to had great pros and cons; I thought India and Egypt were very challenging to travel in (particularly Luxor, Cairo, New Delhi and Agra) but they were all beautiful. Obstacles = agressive panhanding and folks thinking we had a ton of $$ when we didn't; also finding really delicious non-touristy restaurants were hard. Outside of that, many folks spoke English so language wasn't much of a barrier (except for my experience in India).

    how hard was it to keep your hair regiment? did you find any hair salons that cater to your hair styles?

    • @noellealexander2908
      @noellealexander2908  6 лет назад +2

      It was challenging because a lot of countries did not do Black hair (except Madrid! and they were affordable); I did a dominican blow out in Madrid; and during the rest of the trip I wore my hair natural and carried conditioner with me to moisturize.

      No they don't you just have to go in and see for yourself. I'm sure you can ask before checking into a room however.
