I always thought it was more about a lost love in which the main character (from whose perspective Dio is singing) doesn't want to hear their partner say that they love him, because it would be a lie. They can stand to be around their partner as long as they do not speak of love, because Dio's character knows that their love has faded away. However we all put a bit of our lives into our interpretations of music, and so that is very likely specific to me.
What do you think about Sabbath's Dehumaniser album 1992? So underrated, and such a powerful work from Dio & Sabbath. Check out Computer God, l, After All
RIP, RJD...and still one of the coolest band logos in rock...turn it upside down and you get DEVIL...woah! 😈 No disrespect to Ronnie, BUT...this took a little too long to kick in for me, and I couldn't really get past the opening...all I could hear was Freak-A-Zoid by Midnight Star. Your Don't Talk to Strangers riff sounded more like Rick Springfield's tune to me, or was it my imagination????
@@M.Never. You are right, there is no resemblance whatsoever - I only thought, that at least to my ears, what Shane sang sounded more like the Rick Springfield song. I was probably having an 80's General Hospital/Dr. Noah Drake moment....
Flip the logo of the 70's band Angel upside down and you get Angel. (This style of writing is known as a ambigram). My fav tune from Magica is Losing My Insanity....You may enjoy that more.
9:47 My interpretation has always been that you don't want to hear _lies_ about love. "Tell me sweet lies as long as they're not about love."

'Cause maybe it's all above love. RJD
The drummer is actually Simon Wright (from LUTW album) for the Magica album. Vinny was out on this one.
Please Sir react to Dio - Jesus, Mary and The Holy Ghost! And gladly saw Dio show in 2005 here in Ukraine! Brilliant!!!

I can hear absolutely no resemblance other than the song title. Are you sure you've listen to both songs?
