I’ve never ruined any device like that. Once when I was 7/8 I had a blue phone and I cracked it a lot. Same with a newer Samsung that I still have. Some of the screen is unresponsive. Luckily, I got my iPad at 7 and I’m still using it to this day. No cracks whatsoever
Recently I someone gave me an old tablet (I like collecting old tech) and if was waaaay worse than that.
I took the back cover off to clean it. I had to use a scraper and let it soak 3 times in detergent and its still sticky in some places
