I just lost my dad a month ago to an unexpected health complication, I understand this pain in his song all too well now. Three days in that hospital waiting every minute for something to change just to be told he was gone is the worst thing ever.
I went to visit my grandma in February. I spoke to her that Wednesday and we made plans for Friday. I got to her house Friday morning and when I saw her I knew she was leaving us. I cried. I went into her room and laid on the bed and held her hand. She would moan words but it was hard to understand what she was saying. I told her I love her and as clear as day she said I love you darling. I cried. I stayed with her all weekend and she passed early that Sunday morning. I still cry. I still hurt. I miss her every single day. She was my best friend. She was given six weeks and she was gone in 2. 💔

This song reminded me of my grandpas passing, though many years ago, still feels as heavy today. I’m glad I can still feel that weight.
