Im trying to choose between the two as well. And being a huge Mercedes fan, even I admit that the interior is a bit so so. The Audi on the other hand is so much better. But simply based on looks the CLA outclasses everything else. Bare in mind the A3 Sedan is coming out soon too
ive checked out both cars properly now and i can see that the a3 is a better car feature wise. But i have to say the mercedes just feels right for me, what do you suggest?
I have small niggles with my new Audi tfsi 1.8 sportback. Audi deliver it to me with 2 small scratches on the door trim, and now there a small rattle from the door, which is from a small rip in the door trim. Does all new cars have these small niggles?
I honestly don't know how Golfs are in the States, but in Europe it's always been a bestseller and class leader. Maybe the versions you get are not built properly or something, our European Golfs are made in Germany :) Also, the judges of World Car of The Year and European Car of The Year are rather impressed with the Mk7 ;)
I've just got the 2013 a3 sportback in a 1.6tdi sport, the accelerator pedal has a little extra push at the end, kind of like an overdrive on an auto, does this do anything? I've tried it in all driving modes but can't really notice anything.
That is a tough decision now isn't it? I'd personally test drive them again and go for the one which wins my heart. In the end, they both have similar speed, economy etc. I just love the interior of the Audi and it's much more comfortable.
Nice fit and finish , that is all I can say about this car. Front window visibility is also good. Seats are too hard. The 2.0 TDI 150HP engine mated to Stronic Auto tranny is a slug. Acceleration and reaction in Dynamic mode is awful. You cannot connect Iphone to car radio and play Internet radio stations through Audi stereo system. The menu of the pop up screen should include AC heating and other controls. Why have huge screen with 10 options if everything in this car could have been controlled through the screen. I digress, as the car is only as good as its engine , this A3 is a car to avoid. It is slow , unexciting and has terrible stereo sound quality. For 37,000EUR this is a big joke.

Ordered mine today. It will be manufactured mid november and will be delivered early december. Can't wait! I opted for the 1.4 TFSI.
I'm thinking to get A class or CLA .. But look at A3 interior .. It's just so nice and better than A or CLA
if its the S tronic that litle extra is the kick down , when you hit it the car drop a gear down to give you better acceleration

apna2002 it’s also in Volkswagens, it’s just more throttle room I assume for economy so you can’t easily give it all it’s got?

Dont buy A class, buddy. The engine sucks, it is actually a Renault engine in the A class. Go for Audi, secure buy, no regret.

Rather go for the diesel last for longer better fuel economy simple.

No car can match Audi, simple as that.
Why anyone would buy this instead of the Golf Mk7, aside from badge snobbery, is beyond me.
