As we were stuck outside our home country when the pandemic started and are still slowly making our way home it was impossible to enter a few countries without a PCR test. We have tried to avoid travelling to countries that have that requirement, but in a couple of instances there was no-where else to go that didn't have that requirement.
I am curious, where did you both stay during your time under self-health management? Did you move to a different hotel? Did you already have an apartment lined up? I will be looking to enter for work this summer, and my prospective employer is indicating they want to find me an apartment during the hotel quarantine portion so I can move into it for self-health management. But I am against this as I know just how important it is to personally view apartments prior to signing an agreement. So I am curious as to my options for housing during self health management.
When we underwent quarantine self-health management was available at an Airbnb. Adoption may still be available but the rules surrounding quarantine change so frequently it's best to check with the CDC or mrhost.com for the latest options. But we both highly recommend that you do not sign a lease sight unseen! We can't emphasize that enough. Good luck!
I just booked a quarantine room and they sent me an email saying "we still need you to join our LINE or WhatsApp to provide your personal passport." Is that part of the normal process? Thanks for the video and the previous one! Super useful and info! You guys are awesome.
Congrats on booking a quarantine hotel! Hotels have some Liberty of their own requirements that they have in order to manage the quarantine guests so certainly follow their recommendations closely so is not to be held up on a technicality. Thanks for watching!
Hi Guys, I understand that pre flight proof of a negative covid test has been reduced to 48 hours before your flight. But a standard PCR test takes 3-5 days to get results, i was wondering if you took the rapid diagnostic test (ID NOW) or the rapid antigen test (binaxNOW) to get into Taiwan? Do you know if Taiwan CDC will accept either? Thanks so much for your help!
If you are in the States you can get a PCR test within a few hours if you're willing to pay the premium. In fact Seattle airport had a clinic that provided nearly instantaneous results, again for premium price.
Any clue about the quarantine taxi from the airport to the quarantine hotel. Question is: can you take the taxi together with your partner ? Or do you need to get there in two seperate taxis?

Update: According to the the resource Mr. Host, not all Quarantine Hotels include meals(though most do), and Government Quarantine Facilities offer stays with and without meal plans.

We don't know of any agency that provides such services. You can ask your recruiter if you can borrow against your first check and see how they respond but it's not a very common practice. Quarantine is getting cheaper given the fewer required days. Good luck! ~JB🙂

You would have to make arrangements with the quarantine hotel to know for sure. Each quarantine hotel has a way of managing the guests. We left a link about a website called Mr Host which is a great resource that offers live chat. You should be able to tell the rep which hotel you're staying with and perhaps they can facilitate some kind of exchange. Good luck! Quarantine is still in place and the requirements change regularly. No tourism visa are being issued at this time.
