I have such respect for Samiya Ji. She is the most fantastic performer. I am so pleased to know more about her. I love the theatre!!! I would love to see her perform on stage!! She would blow the audience's minds!! It is wonderful to hear that Samiya Ji is teaching kids in acting workshops. We do this in schools in England but just teachers, actors don't give up their time for school kids. Respect to her!!! I loved Udaari and Dil Na Umeed Tou Nahi, they are in a class of their own, and Samiya Ji was incredible in both of them. Nothing as good as those will ever be made on these subjects anywhere in the world!! I have watched Mor Moharan for Samiya Ji's character. I love that Bibi Rani is a modern, educated, and independent woman as well as a musician!!! A violinist!! How often do we see female characters playing instruments at all?? Unfortunately, the writing is very laborious and the drama takes place at a pace slower than a snail!!! I really loved her in a seldom spoken of drama called Teri Rah Mein Rul Gayi Ray which is a much better predecessor of Dobara. Sami Ji plays the younger man in love with an older woman played by Samiya Ji. They are both absolutely fantastic (barring all the cigarette smoking by Sami Ji which I hate in our dramas, smoking actors ki sehat kay liya bhi buri hoti hai!!!) I have always appreciated Samiya Ji's acting even in plays I hated like Sadqay Tumhare I hated the narrative before I knew who Khalil was as I watched it on Netflix in England when Pakistani dramas first went onto the platform. Samiya JI was the best thing in that misogyny-ridden Khalil fest!! I will not watch any dramas/films written by him now no matter who is in them. I love that Samiya Ji is a farmer!!! So cool!! I think that Pakistani society has got more regressive, intolerant, and misogynistic over the passage of time. Now people are less likely to send a 17-year-old girl away to learn anything let alone dance. My mother is a trained teacher from Lahore, her sister worked as a Principle of a college her whole career but my aunt got the next generation married at 20 and had kids. Go figure. A Coffee shop vendor at a station that I get the train from to go to work in the morning has a message in his window. It says, 'we are a failure if we don't make the next generation better than we are.' How come we seem to be the only nation that doesn't feel that way??? Anyway, thank you for a wonderful interview!

As a Karachite I could sense her excitement. People in khi mostly don’t get a chance to see gardens and greenery if living in the city. There is a lot of dust and trash in the main city so Rabia got excited when she saw a mini farm :)
