    Big fan of your channel Scott. A few years ago I would sit on my computer 8-14 hours a day was always skinny but it was still very unhealthy. I shifted to eating healthier, working out, and I just started martial arts. I also really like how you are fellow anime enthusiast like me that is into fitness. I feel a lot of people see us that like anime as losers, unfit, and still living in their parent's basement, it's nice to prove them wrong.

      Chris Kuhr yeah man I agree 100%.. the last few years the ANIME fans have been making a huge impact on being successful and strong as FUARK people. Erica and Chrystal always make fun of me I wear mine, but I ALWAYS get compliments from people haha Espcially when I wear my DBZ shirts.

    Now you are on belts I have some questions Scott:
    • It's the Inzer core actual leather, not just the surface?
    • The other belt you have is narrower in the front part, as most of comercial belts, while wider in the back because is it's supposed to suppory mainly the back more than your front. But isn't back protection achieved more efficiently when abs is the one being supported. So the belt front part should be as wide as back if not more?
    Thanks,

    Had an Inzer Forever Lever 13mm belt for almost a year but it was just too damn hard and never broke in so I sold it. Using a soft 10mm belt now which is okay, guess I'm getting a 10mm Inzer Forever Buckle belt single prong which is suitable for both deadlifts and squats, In my opinion the lever belt is made for squats. Good vid and insight on the belt Scott!

    Hey Scott, maybe a little off-topic, but hopefully you can answer my little question :) whenever I train chest, I do the usual exercises (bench/dumbbell press, flys etc). The thing is, my triceps or shoulders seem always to get fatigue before my pecs, and because of that I never really get that pump in my chest, therefore never feel like I'm really training my chest. Am I doing something wrong? Are there any exercises to isolate my chest, or do you have other tips? Thanks a lot in advance, you are a great inspiration!

    I would like to purchase a belt since a year and I fall in your video where you explain the advantages of the INZER FOREVER LEVER BELT.
    my waist is 97cm (38.5inches), I would like to know your opinion about the size to choose. I choose the Large size : 36 to 38 inches or I choose the X-Large size : 39 to 42 inches ? I think I must choose the X-Large belt. I fear the Large belt become too small in the time ...
    thanks you for your advice

  • @Ninjaman195
    @Ninjaman195 9 лет назад +1

    Hi Scott, thanks for the great video! When you hi-bar squat, do you usually push you gut hard against the belt like you do during a deadlift? I have been trying it out for my squat, and it seems to make me lean forward more and actually puts more strain on my back. For my 355 lbs PR I didn't use a belt to prevent this from happening. I just want to make sure I am using my belt properly. Thanks for your help!

    • @ScottHermanFitness
      @ScottHermanFitness 9 лет назад

      Ninjaman195 Yeah I do the same method. But you have to make sure your chest is up and you take the breathe at the top before you go down. Also, foot stance could play a crucial role in why you lean forward. Maybe mess around with it with lighter weight?

    how do you feel about belts in general? i know they support your lower back and i need that, but won't that ultimately make me use my lower back less in squats or dead lifts making it weaker in the long run? i feel like belts take the stability part of your lower back out of the picture and with an already weak back I'm worried about regularly using them as i'm lifting heavier

    I just use a 7mm waist band under the belt and don't feel any pain ...however, I never felt the pain as many describe while using a 13mm inzer belt anyway. I just replaced my 30 yr old 13mm inzer with a new 13mm inzer and personally, I don't feel the stiffness nor the required breaking point so many describe while using an inzer. Maybe its just because i'm use-to the 13mm already is a possibility. However, what I do feel is the weight. The Inzer lever bet has some good weight on it for sure.

    ScottHermanFitness hey Scott! Ive been trying to strengthen my core so I haven't been using my belt (tips from your videos). I was thinking the other day that it would be more optimal to always wear a belt bc it will create resistance against your core, thus making it stronger. Also the heavier loads would make one to brace even harder. what are your thoughts? Anyways, Love your videos!! They have helped me soo much throughout the years

    Bought one of these a few months ago, haven't looked back. Btw, I still get bruises on my hip.
    Oh and to add to walking around the gym with a belt on, there is a guy at my gym who is in pretty good shape and he literally has his inzer locked in from his first set of his first exercise until the end. He even takes water breaks with the thing on. I wish I was kidding. Oh and he's a personal trainer. Srs.

      Stay Defined Oh man... that is just ridiculous.. have you tried to talk to him? lol
      and glad I am not alone with the bruising.. but the gains are worth the pain right?!

      ScottHermanFitness Haha, I have. He told me that it helps his core stability. I'm not even kidding.
      Haha they are! I love my belt even if it hurts me.

    I prefer belts that are thinner at the front too. it will never get any better scott . because its the same size, it will always dig in bro.
    good thinking about Bella. I'm the same. However my Mum has a dog like yours, and she bob barkered him, and he is much better behaved, and doesnt try to hump everything including toys,kids, my leg...

    • @ScottHermanFitness
      @ScottHermanFitness 9 лет назад

      jack black well.. it wont get thinner, but it will break in and give a bit more around the edges in time... just having to break it in is the hard part! haha and it is Bello! and yeah he pees sometimes in the house.. but I dont have the heart to do it!

      I got 2 both 13mm one lever, one double prong. They feel amazing after the break in and its not to bad. I much prefer the double over the lever.

    • @benjohnhodgson
      @benjohnhodgson 9 лет назад +3

      I have the 13mm lever, I prefer it just because it is quicker and looks all futuristic and stuff. But yeah, once broken in then it is definitely my most important piece of equipment. Plus walking around with it in the gym, then people will see you and know you're either an idiot or mad serious. Important things.

    Great Video Scott. I have a decent belt however traction buckle, no lever. I use mine for heavier deadlifts and squats and it causes major bruising around my obliques, as the leather is so hard. @scott Herman

    it takes a few months to break in the inzer belt, I suggest you roll it up one way then roll it up the opposite way then leave it rolled up some how with like a band or something it would help break it in faster and keep your bruising to a minimum
