I think Beefy Smash Doods made a recent update video about techs. Apparently; when a fighter is launched while above 100%, the fighter may end up into 2 different "launch animations": *Back flying* and *spinning around*. If the fighter is spinning while launched, teching is NOT possible. The chances of the fighter is be either back flying or spinning animation while launched is random.....although I theorize that DI pre-launch vs the launch vector of the incoming attack may be a factor. This is the reincarnation of the "tripping" from Brawl. You CAN tech....if the odds are in your favor.

Raffi-X for example, a phenomenal R.O.B generally is nigh even with Cratis, Pugwest, and yet he lost to Space Mario (though not recently) ...A player whom I have a winning record over (who's beat me for the first time last Thursday)...Raffi placed 13th at this KTAR XIX...*A VERY STACKED* tournament. Top 100 in Smash 4 to top 200...are all threats to top players once you get down to the low end S class players. Top 10 are in leagues of their own of course, but anyone in top 50 poses a threat to them (depending on the match up) Do you think Marss considers Fatality as free? No, he doesn't I asked... Do you think Tweek is considered free to ZeRo? How about Larry...does he consider FOW or Tyrant free? Is DK will free to MK Leo? Again, very dependent on match ups, once you're at a certain player mindset it comes down to Chess... Tweek, Marss, Kamemushi, Zinoto, 6wx (on a good day), ALL HAVE potential to win a major...I've dealt with someone doubting Nairo saying he can't win a major...he won smash con after... Another guy said Ally got 49th at CEO...he's not gonna win a major...Ally won Evo...but MKLeo beat Ally, whom lost to Salem, whom lost to Tweek, whom lost to Marss...and Pugwest....whom WaDi beat...the list keeps going dude.
ATARi Yeah i completely agree with you on everything. Smash4 has gotten so much better since the shiek nerfs to zero. Im just saying that its a huge exaggeration to say that the top 40 can win a major. Only the top 15 right now have the potential to win a major. BUT yes the top 50 can upset each other thats for sure. Top 100, ok chill, but top 50 for sure. Although I'll say that the current PGR top 50 is flawed because it excludes a lot of people that are definitely top 50 but haven't gotten the chance to prove it. Like mexicos and especially japans top players.
