  • In grad school I quit my six figure engineering job and tried out an entry level job in a field that I had no experience in. I wanted to see how difficult it would be to build wealth by putting myself into a low income job.

It's been a long time since your videos have popped up on my feed. Nice to see you're still out there. Miss the S2000 content.

I respect the hustle but you didn’t start out from ‘scratch’ you had a savings and money to invest in your first car to flip and resources to fix it up and market it. You would not have been able to do this if you were on the street. Also, I’m assuming these are gross numbers pre-tax. I’m not hating on your work, I just take issue with the trope that somehow homeless or poor people could all somehow make a million if they simply decided to work hard.

Hey Zent, wanted to let you know that you were the reason that I studied finance in undergrad and owned a yellow c5z, now i recently graduated and about to start my first job as an investment banker in nyc then moving to private equity , looking forward to watch more of your content and building my wealth like you show in your videos and having fun along the way!

Geez.. goes to show how much money vehicles cost to maintain! I first watched your c5 corvette video because I was considering one... But it became apparent that even simple maintenance was not something I was interested in. I'm a programmer and I use to do landscaping. Keep on enjoying your cars!

Right, bc you have a brain. Others think that just making money makes you important and is the end of it all.

I finished my B.S in CS. I turned 27 this year and still looking for a job. This year im going to make drastic changes and start using your budgeting sheet. In a way im starting from zero except I got a few good things like an s2000 lol.

How is the job market currently? I remember graduating and it took me forever to get my first engineering job.

@ZentRose The market is rough. A lot of people are struggling to land a job in tech, specifically software development. At this point, I'm going to look into other areas within tech while I continue improving my portfolio with projects.

Great video, Zent. I loved the ending :) About how much work would you say it took to do all that car flipping? Looks time consuming.

It's not work if you enjoy it. The difficult part for me was selling the car (I am not a great salesman).

Hey man! Been a subscriber since the dodge viper days. Great stuff you post! Wonder if you had any experience with an L322 Range Rover. Thinking of getting it as a daily and wouldn’t mind putting around 2K/year to keep it running. Thoughts?

I love those but you either need to get a good independent mechanic or be handy yourself to keep within a narrow budget. They are a little bit worse than BMW ownership lol

Interesting journey. Been watching your videos for some time now. I'm about to graduate with my BS in Mechanical Engineering in a few weeks. Any tips on how to get my foot into an entry level position? Especially in this economy?

Network and target an industry that is growing. I believe the job market for engineers is still good despite what you hear on the news. Stay positive and avoid the doom and gloom stuff 👍🏻

why not continue to invest in real estate? I'm young with no real experience in it, but in theory I always thought that was the best and fastest way to build wealth. Seems like it could snowball quite fast into lots of passive income, especially if you used a lot of the money from your engineering job towards it.

I am! I put my savings toward 401k, Roth IRA , and real estate. I am looking out of state for my next rental property. California has some unfriendly laws.

@@ZentRosedo you set up a backdoor Roth IRA? Assuming you are back to engineering and making over the income limit for Roth IRA contributions
