my stepmother lives in the house with the white topped wall ,i lived there for many yrs.great memories.wonderful food at the rockmount and can't beat a chippy tea from the cobo chip shop. my friend used to live in what is now cobo tea rooms. thank you.
I so miss the white sand. Where we are, West coast of North Island NZ, we have beaches, but the sand is black - yes black. Volcanic and iron. In the hot summer days it's very hard to walk on, burning your feet. Soon after we moved here we had a pool put into the back garden so we wouldn't have to go to the beach to cool off. Always miss Guernsey on those days. Thank you Ross for the walk. Jocelyn Le Page
As always, this channel never disappoints with a quality video highlighting the features of Cobo bay comprehensively. First visit to the island (years ago ) picked up the hire car and went to top up the fuel - on a Sunday !.. "Open but closed" was the expression the attendant used. Thanks for the garage memory !
Hi I'm glad I came across this Cobo video it was the first place I visited the first time I came to Guernsey and visited several times since we used to shop at the Iceland
Oh my gosh ! Love this !!! So beautiful is Cobo , I lived opoersite Iceland and the fish n chips shop is the best , I miss it so much , what a couple of years it's been! , wanted to get over by now but work has got in the way , waiting for my lovely friend @Browen
Hi Ross, seeing the bus do you remember the old type buses they use to have dating back to the 40's? what ever happened to them? did they get sent back to the mainland? the video was great Cobo Bay does have a huge sandy beach when the tide is low.
Hi Paul, not sure what happened to the old busses. On liberation day they have some which drive round but not sure if they are kept on guernsey or come from the Uk?
Hi all! @ Paul Crawley: Yes, I remember very well! Born in Guernsey 62. Had the same interest (old buses) and havent been able to find anything on that subject.
Oh my gosh, I remember walking up cattle hill to get the old bus in the mid sixties, to take us to St Andrews primary School. I loved that school and although wasn't fond of the busses then I am a bit of an old bus geek. Many a time the driver stopped and read us the riot act poor bloke. He did know my uncle and aunt though 😂😂😂
This island is what dreams are made of, paradise at it's best.
Ah…. Happy memories sneaking down there from my friends house. Thank you for feeding my soul again!
Any time!

You’re very welcome ☺️
Cobo chippy is ace as is the pub. Watched many a sunset from there with a pint on the beach. Foods great too.

I remember not being able to buy fuel for your car on a Sunday, sounds really strange now.
