I like what you have to say. It promotes emotionally sobriety, which I'm building to match my 21 years of physical sobriety. I'm 70. After an angry, alcoholic mother and a distant, resentful father, both of whom gave conditional and limited affection and attention, then ten years of lukewarm boyfriends or celibacy, then 24 years of my first marriage to a vindictive, controlling narcissist, I met a man who was a train wreck like me, with a similar history. We were ready to capitalize on everything we'd learned. It was the sweetest eight years of my life, before Alzheimer's took him over. I believe we healed each other a great deal, but a year after he died, I grew intensely limerent over a married man who reminded me of him in some important qualities. I think I'm grieving what I lost, by obsessing over a living man. I stay no contact, go out on my own and with friends, volunteer, work as an activist. I feel compassion for myself, and the pain remains inescapable. I practice stoicism where I can. It helps.

I enjoy gardening and was watching a RUclips video of a vlogger & her husband just calmly going about a normal day outside. This older vlogger does not over edit … so it seems like their normal.
I was observing how normal and calm their piddling around seemed. I thought… they probably have no idea their normal is not normal for a lot of people. I’m happy to see that it’s possible for some… while I would never seek or want another relationship …it gives me hope that it is possible for some.

Love that. I always say that.. love is never in the grand gestures but, it’s in the “normal” -

I really appreciate your videos, Evita. In fact, while watching today, I had the idea to substitute my morning news podcast with your RUclips channel. I look forward to seeing the impact of this decision. Thanks for what you do ❤❤

This might seem weird but my younger brother's sudden death last month snapped me back into reality. I didn't know that I had to lose a person I love to make me realize that there is a reality outside of the fantastical shiits that we make up in our heads. 😢

It makes perfect sense. Sometimes loss hits us in the face to bring us in present time - even if that present time is actually the worst place to be in, in that very moment. So sorry for your loss.

This is a very heartwarming video and such a good way to recenter the whole concept of love. my own experience of this version of true love is being asked if i wanted a drink by my auntie and being completely overwhelmed by the fact that she went to get it for me and told me to rest. This is my own reference point to my own healing journey. Fantastic videos.

I have not come across such a video ever in my life. It is so beautifully explained as if you are going the same process. Each and every sentence is so meaningful and beautifully explained. Can't thank you enough for this wonderful video. Thi video is as if someone is talking to us to soothe us. God bless for the great work you are doing because you are living through each and every emotion people are going through.

I’m glad I found your channel. I only heard of “Limerence” yesterday and my mind/heart has been blown away at how much of my life I have truly wasted “waiting” on people who never “choose me”. Thank you.

I'm healing, but I'm still scared of real relationship. I don't know how to be myself and I want a perfect partner ofc. But first of all I want to be accepted, I understand this. You always know what to say to connect with the inner me. Thank you so much!
    Have a nice spring 🌺

It's gpod to see you here again, I always appreciate your videoes and am grateful for what you have time to share, thank you. Coincidentally, I've been thinking about love too recently afterr someone said "I love you" to me, but I consciously didn't respond with an "I love you too", as it jist didn't feel right in the moment, even if I knew it was probably the expected or desired reply. But I was very conscious in the moment that I didn't feel I loved that person, though I like them immensely and was happy to be with them, but saying "I love you" just felt like a lie, and I didn't want to lie to them, as I at least respect them. I also felt perhaps they didn't mean what they said in the same, very literal way I would have meant it, that rather they meant they loved what I was doing for them, they loved how that made them feel, but to say that they loved "me" was an inaccurate expression of what they felt. But it's caused me to think about what love feels like to me, and how difficult it is to explain what is to me a feeling, not a thought, though I understand there are plenty of very logical, clinical explanations for the physiological effects and the experience or sensation that's referred to as the feeling of love. To me, love, or true love, something that almost seems unconditional, I'd describe as a feeling that I want someone to have their best, happiest, most fulfilling life, irrespective of whether I'm there to share that with them, benefit from it or be the one giving it to them, I just want it to be there for them, however it might happen. Love feels to me like something very calm, a quiet sort of inteenal confidence in its existence, distinct from attraction, arousal, infatuation, desire etc., not butterflies in the stomach or fireworks, but a sense of this knowledge inside myself that what I feel for that person is something special and unique from other feelings. It's something I've only really felt a few times in my life in relation to a relatively small number of people, but it's come with such a sense of certainty that I know it's different to other feelings, and it's just about the best feeling I think it's possible to experience in our existence, not a quick burn of passion, but this constant warmth glowing away inside us that just endures. There's songs about how love hurts or love is a battlefield, but that's not true. I understand there are lots of things that we experience in life that do hurt and we often associate with love, or come to associate with love because they exist where we want, need or expect love to exist, like its loss, its absence, its withdrawal, but those things aren't love. If love hurts then it's not love that we're feeling.

10:10 maybe some random people give us this feeling of how nice it is to be cared for by people, to be connected, and to be so safe
11:00 keep remembering this will snap out of that this never happens to us, moments where you feel welcome
12:29 being in limerence with some person means that you probably are not in limerence realistic connection and relationship with most of the things in your life including yourself, your future, career
13:11 bring you back to connect with your own life
14:09 we never like ourselves in the moment
