I live in Florida, don’t think the prices are bad at all. The upper and lower chicken thighs and legs were very reasonable. The broccoli could be substituted for another vegetable. I usually convert the prices to US in order to compare. Not too bad at all.
Thanks for these videos. Contemplating moving to SVG from London, UK. Was in SVG in 2022, wasn't a fan of Massey, it was incredibly expensive in the store and the quality wasn't brilliant. Maybe because the products were coming from the USA, I found things very highly processed. Purchased fruit, veg and meat outside from vendors and the butcher. Something I need to get used to is how flour, sugar and rice, etc are bagged. I am used to buying the staple foods in larger quantities.
I try my best to avoid going to the grocery store. The prices are ridiculous. I found the GOYA products to be cheaper in St. Vincent than in Canada 🇨🇦. Try planting your ground provisions.
I personally would gladly support the market vendors, buying ground food from them. Prices in svg, are way better for high quality organic foods , than here in Massachusetts. I pay as much as 15 usd for a tiny breadfruit, and that's when they are available 😂.
Am from saint Vincent and I don't have to buy ground provisions peppers cabbage etc cause my village grew these stuff even if u want calalou u jus tell a farmer u want some and you get it ❤❤ best you look for me and u save a lot of money
“Work was work” and the expression was felt fr😂. Massy is too expensive for me 😭 personally I like shopping at greaves marketplace, however massy offers a wider variety of items.
I'm living in Canada and it's not better here. We basically have to pay for everything we need. You go to the grocery store with a $100 and only walking out with Atleast 10 items. In St.Vincent you can have a good friend to give you some peppers or some fruits and provision.
here in the states if they raise food a penny everybody starts saying how expensive food is. I like all the choices of pepper sauce much more than the states. Food and gas and utilities stay going up up up!! Great video keep it coming
Peppers are expensive eveeywhere Vashell. It's ridiculous how pricey groceries in generally has skyrocketed. This inflation thing is no joke. Our pockets are definitely feeling it.
Rep784🇻🇨 folife.... the good thing in🇨🇦 there's weekly flyer on grocery sales so we take advantage and stock up certain thingz prices 🇻🇨 extremely brutal like the slice pumpkin seeds even added the weight too the package that's a red flag .....
Good food costs more, I reside in the UK and cut back on non essential things. I shopped in Massy when I was in Vincy in December with a list. I was told next time to visit Bonadies and the market. Thank you for sharing.
Was there in January, and was surprised at how everything is so expensive. I remember when things was cheap and $100 could've taken you a long way. Things in England is way cheaper even if the prices are converted . Imagine that, smh. Sent two big boxes of groceries for my mother last week and sends her more money than I used to.
You can steam the calalou and freeze till you ready that way, it wont waste.but find things are general expensive and every time you go back like it a different price.
Vashell massy nice because of their varieties but when you get to the cashier, the price is far more than what you see it on the shelves for. That is what I hate about them, So misleading
You cannot compare other countries with st Vincent things in st Vincent is cheap .many vincy people are cheap and love to complain about how expensive things are .Barbados is the most expensive Caribbean country .what you spend is not even a hundred US dollars plus Randy’s super market is the cheapest
Barbados is very cheap when it comes to food and transportation. As someone who travels back and forth between St. Vincent and Barbados every 2 months, I can say that confidently. Where I would spend 200 USD ($400 BDS) in Barbados in their supermarkets, I would have to spend atleast 300 USD ($800 ECD) in St.Vincent to get same or similar items.

The way I have to buy all my fruits and provisions here lol I think I have the wrong friends lol
@@LifeinVincy Lol. Maybe you need to start planting them for yourself.
Gone are the days when $100 used to give you a full cart😂. I refrain from massy unless I need something from there but greaves is the go❤
My blood pressure goes up every time lol
here in the states if they raise food a penny everybody starts saying how expensive food is. I like all the choices of pepper sauce much more than the states. Food and gas and utilities stay going up up up!! Great video keep it coming
Yes inflation is crazy right now
You should try the pringa and Kelly.’s seasoning
Pringa’s has been recommended so I will try it next time

Hi first time on,I am from Jamaica 🇯🇲 ,and the cost of chicken 🐔 is $350 per pound broccoli 🥦 $1000 per pound just to name few.
Welcome to the family 😊…I will have to do the conversions lol
Great video 👌
Glad you enjoyed

The Massy locations are more convenient for me than Bonadie so I guess that’s a part of the cost lol
Whenever I come home, bonadie #2 is my store to shop for most things
Oh I don’t go there as much because there is no parking but I will have to check their prices
We both are junk food addicts, I be goin in the supermarket for one thing by the time you blink I have a whole basket full at the cashier🤣
I’m trying to cut back but I’m failing lol

People get upset sometime when I say things are expensive so I am happy you understand. Your mom is lucky to have you to help ❤️❤️❤️
Watching from United States😊🇺🇸
Hi!!!! Welcome and thank you for the support 😊
Hey new subscriber 🎉 you can try Pringas natural flavour next time. They are really good
Hi! Thank you so much for subscribing 😊…I will give pringa’s a try the next time I buy
In Hawai’i that would have been 1/3 more
Wow!

I’m going to steam some tonight! I really have thought of planting a backyard garden
@@LifeinVincy yes that something we really need to get into more here, but by me with dry season nothing don't really come through.
The loose rice gets weeble after a while be careful
It’s not my favorite
Freeze the rice, flours and all grains and beans for a few days and then store them in airtight containers or glassware containers. You’ll be fine!
Not to exposing massy either their hole in the roof 😂 great video by the way ❤
lol I’m sure they fixed it 🙈
Vashell massy nice because of their varieties but when you get to the cashier, the price is far more than what you see it on the shelves for. That is what I hate about them,

I have had that issue with them, the price changes in their system but they don’t change the price of the items on the shelves
@@LifeinVincy
Correct
Wouldn't provision/root crops be cheaper from market vendors ?
I really have no idea, the grocery store is a little more convenient but I do need to start visiting the vegetable market
$234 for a few things, omg
They are killing us slowly but surely 😂😅😊
lol girl I know
I guess the snack isle is expensive cuz they want you to cut down on eating it 😂😂
lol but I keep buying
Sorry if I missed it but are all these prices in EC??
Hi, yes the prices are in ec
For 49 items that’s not too bad
Brocolli is very expensive there..😮
Yea I can afford that lol
