Great to see 26 in action! I'm excited to see Boston and Maine 3713 on Steamtowns mainline in the future. Steamtown has stated with an interviewer that the next steam locomotive they will restore to operation is Canadian National 3377, 3254s sister engine that they owned at Steamtown even before the move to Scranton. They gave started work on 3377, but their main focus right now is 3713.
Wow!!!!!! I'm so envious of you! This place is so cool! Our museum of Transportation has only static displays. The closet operating one to me is near Chicago! Great video Jay! I could tell you were excited 😊 🚂
Last time we were there the turntable was not working. Glad to see everything up and going.love anything train related. I wanted to go to Steasburg today but my hubby worked the last 6 days 10 hour shifts. He needed a break at home. He loves his trains and enjoys these videos. It stormed around the area anyway so it's good we didn't go.
Fabulous intro!! I’m not sure who was busier….you getting all the different shots/angles or the little green train!! 😂😂 Thanks for taking us along, it was cool!! 🚂🚃🛤💖💙💖💙💖💙
Fantastic JP! What a great way to start the video! The on the tracks under the train footage is so cool! So neat that the steam train rides are back at Steamtown! I could listen to those sounds all day and night as well as being at the roundhouse watching the turntable! Your photos are outstanding! Thank you so much for such a great video!
My grandfather was in charge of the caboose when he worked for the railroad. He was the conductor. I also remember him taking my brother, myself and our cousin, a ride in the engine. I was petrified of that. Trains always scared me.
Awesome video JP! Great footage! That turntable and roundhouse is awesome! They have some awesome locomotives and equipment there! Thanks for bringing us along!
So good to see trains running again especially 26. You get a lot of awesome shots there. I depressed to you have a like the against the mall fence, but st 16:06 I never saw that angle snd I want that shot. Very cool. Another great video Jay.
Great and cool video JP, it's not every day that you can still see a steamer rolling the rails, I got hired at the local race track as the mower, got the grandstands, pit areas and parking lot, roughly 12 acres, took me 4 days but had a breakdown, after I get used to it, I should have it done in a day and a half
reminds me of Northern Illinois Railway Museum back home in Union, IL.. they refurbish old systems and some old trolleys from Chicago's old times. It's pretty cool 😎
Always love to see train videos on your channel. I am not sure if you have been down to New Freedom yet, but they offer occasional rides down to the Howard Tunnel now.
Even without the train rides being offered last summer, I enjoyed my visit to Steamtown. I plan to be back up in the area again in 2023. I am sure my visit will be even better. I am hoping for the trolley museum next door is better too. I was disappointed with my experience there.
I recommend visiting during Railfest weekend. The next one is June 11-12. Multiple train rides will be offered and the trolley museum will be doing several trolley trips.
Awesome video again JP! Just amazing shots you have taken! There are a couple that are in my opinion, 'frame worthy'! Thank you for sharing this fantastic video!
Loved seeing the Turntable in operation. Beautiful restoration of the old engines .. I imagine you really had to hustle to catch all those different angles ..Great job . You caught some great shots. I know y'all had a great day .. Glad the weather co-operated : }
My husband and I are going plan a trip to see the trains ...my husband likes the big boy train and I just like the steam trains . Love the olive green train .question why does that train slope to the back . You would think it's easier to get the coal if the slope was on the front..
The sloping part of the tender is by design and that is where the water is held. It makes it easier (visually) for backing up when switching in the yard.
Makes me wonder why they have not put back that long section of rail back in, part of the video 20:08. And at the station you can see two different parts where there are switches at that stop and it looks like at one point they did cross over and meet at different points
I showed 3713 during my railfest video. Still undergoing restoration, but far from complete. 2317 was on display outside the roundhouse for the event as well.
Steamtown is a disappointment. They barely have the #26 running. Only a few years ago they had the 2317,3254, and 26 running at the same time. Now the 3254 will never run again, and neither will the 2317. They’re hoping to get the 3713 running sometime before 2030. They should change the name to diesel town. They don’t even have the back shop tour any more. They say because of Covid. I say it’s because they’re embarrassed that they get no support to restore these historical artifacts. One thing: they did a remarkable job visually restoring the 2124, and the Big Boy!!!!!
So good to see her back in steam. It seems like it has been forever. Gald I was able to make it and had a great day.
You were there and you didn’t show for one blooper?!? 😂💖💖💖💖💖
The whistle sounds like a forlorn call in the night. Love it. Thanks for the video. God Bless your days.
I love the Industrial sounding hooter whistle.
@@nicholasmedovich8691 there's nothing wrong with them rotating the whistles, especially of retired locomotives.
hope fully one of the bigger steam town steam locomotive can pull trains again

Please forgive me if I asked this before but. Where did you hear this? Was it in a RUclips video?

My father never liked hearing the train whistles because it reminded him of having to go back to the Army after some time off.
Great to see that ol girl again. Lots of fun for sure. Great video.
Very well done JP. Steamtown is a treasure.
Thanks

You too man!
Wow, love the opening of this video. Glad the train rides are back again!
Signs that things are slowly returning to normal.

Working 3 cameras at once by yourself is no easy task, but the end result is worth it.
@@JPVideos81 ..just noticed I said "great" 3 times...LOL.....Well , it was a great video !!
Awesome video thanks i enjoyed watching 👍
JP, wondering if you might take us to this years National Pike Steam, Gas and Horse show in Brownsville PA???
Nice to see steam back at Steamtown!
Love steam locomotive they are so cool
I agree. Like a living, breathing machine.
Great video Jay awesome shots
It was a great day of Steam. Glad you enjoyed it.
Oh wow this is really cool and on the 13th was my birthday this month

What a fantastic day out on the rails! Awesome video as always 🚂💨
Glad you and Nikki got to see her return.
I was lucky to go outside of the rail yard with it so yeah
I love the round-a-about. Trains are much more impressive in person. I don't get them in my area.
Great vid jp 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks V.P.

are they doing steam fest this year, should I be planning a second trip south?
June 11-12
Wow Awesome!!
Very cool
Put me on a steam train and never let me.off. I dream steam nice video.
I still prefer when my steam trains are a lighter green with golden letters.
hope steam town ex Boston & Maine railroad steam locomotive #3713 will same day soon pull trains
Hope she's completed sooner than later
Any news on Boston and Maine 3713?
Is steamtown still restoring that Boston and Maine steam locomotive?
Yes, 3713
I love the old timey trains like back in the 1800's. Don't care for the diesel engines. And I Love cabooses!
Well, it’s about time Steam returns to Steamtown, but what about 2317 and 3713? What happened to that right now and their status for their future?
I showed 3713 during my railfest video. Still undergoing restoration, but far from complete. 2317 was on display outside the roundhouse for the event as well.
@@JPVideos81 I see
@@JPVideos81 it would be nice if FMW solutions could finish 3713s restoration. Not saying it will happen though.

I agree that it's definitely not the same as it used to be.
Hopefully the old guy in this video at the end knows that the mask mandate has been lifted and dose not need one at all
Steamtown reinstated masks for in the buildings and in the train cars.
@@JPVideos81 oh wow
