The Dahunog Festival in Dipolog City is a vibrant cultural celebration known for its music, dance, and community spirit. "Dahunog" means "rumbling sound" in Cebuano, reflecting the lively drumbeats and marching band performances that are the festival's highlight. The festival typically runs from late September to October and includes a variety of activities such as the marching band competition, where local schools showcase their musical talents.
In 2023, four schools, including Zamboanga del Norte National High School (ZNNHS) and Saint Vincent’s College (SVC), competed in the marching band showdown. ZNNHS emerged as the Grand Champion, with participants and alumni displaying strong school spirit during the event. The festival is also marked by concerts, sports competitions, and other cultural activities that celebrate the city's youth and musical heritage.
